Fortunately, familiar red signage glowed through the Fall, 2024 darkness and a familiar old friend wearing pumps said "Hello". I like the Maverick brand. During a span of my life I spent many days of many weeks working here in Northwest Flag. It was my go-go-to gas stop. We'd run the gas tank down to 1/4 tank. We said farewell at Woody's CamogrouCamCampground. We would nor get home without a full tank. Maverick was our perfect stop. They have snacks, beverages and smiles too.

10/5/24 update - found out the issue is with my new checking account and not with the gas station…read more Actually find gas stations in my area are holding between $150-$175 for a day or more. Not sure how that is legal. Changing from 1 star to 4. It actually was a decent place and cheaper than the surrounding gas in the area the day I was there visiting. The gas was $3.68/gal not bad, but they secured $100 out of my account for a $28.32 bill. Not happy about this at all!! Calling for manager today after 11am. 4-15-24 at 8:50am the $100 pending charge is still not gone! And the real charge hard posted so $128.32 now wrapped up for a $28.32 charge!! Talked to both the station manager and Discover yesterday!! 2:34pm and it's still there! 2 days after I gassed up here! What the hell man!? Why isn't anyone doing something about this!!?? Pisses me off need to get ahold of a news station or something!!?? Never coming here again!!!! .. withholding my true words for sake of being PG. 4-16-24 finally got things back to normal 3 days after the fact. From now on no longer paying at the pump this was insane! What if my account overdrew?? Good thing I had the money. This is the only account I have can't have credit cards anymore ex forced me into bankruptcy

Now this little gas station is connected to a little hotel along side the road. So much to do with an area for walking around. Get out and see the fresh air coming from the trees. The gas station is open 24/7! The store has the basics covered with cleaning paramount. The various employees that we encountered were friendly. It's your typical convenience store. This one does carry the Sinclair merchandise if you're looking for it. We would definitely stop again! Off to the road.

They told me about the celebration they were going to be having in the parking lot that afternoon. We decided to stay for it! Celebrating 110 years of Sinclair gas! Live music! Bouncy house! Free food! The burgers were probably some of the best we have ever had. I know hard to believe, but true! The guys doing the grilling super friendly! It was nice to see young families enjoying the food and festivities. We stopped in Little America and bought some stuff at their gift shop but it was fun to come upon this free community event and get a free delicious lunch! Thank you so much!!

Even the fuel pumps are clean, with the windhield cleaner bucks stocked and clean. There is also a fairly decent selection of beer, given that the beer selection as it is is relatively small. The gentleman running the store was very kind and engaging with customers. One customer in front of me was visiting from out of the country, and even when his first debit card declined, the clerk was very patient and was in no way demeaning towards the customers. The clientele at this Texaco was also better than what you'd see at a fuel station in Flagstaff proper. I'll definitely be coming back next time I'm driving through the area. The service and bathrooms alone are worth it!

The ownership has changed, as has the name and decor, with a fresh layer of attention-getting turquoise paint on the outside, projecting a friendly, inviting, and cute vibe. The market's re-opening was in late September 2025. You can still find an ancient Coke machine still sitting near the entrance and many other reminders of the past. Their deli offers a nice selection of Boars Head products, a simple menu of sandwiches, burgers, sides, and beverages at reasonable prices. Keep an eye out for the local pies and cakes from Em's Hometown Bakehouse, and freshly baked bread. They also have a small market for other necessities. This is a great option outside Williams, worth considering to grab up some breakfast/lunch/picnic foods and snacks for your day at the Grand Canyon South Rim.
