No indication of DP(disabled persons) on plates.

Pathetic Pathetic! It's truly disturbing to the point where I refuse to return to this particular Safeway. Yesterday I pulled into the lot and waited for another disabled patron to load her groceries. As she pulled out this young African American girl cut me off and took the spot. I honked my horn to motion I'd been waiting for the spot, she withdrew and pulled into another disabled parking spot. When she got out of her car I realized she was a security officer for the store, fully abled and in uniform. Allied universal officer. She had no placards or license plate indicating her authorization to park there...just lazy I guess‍ I went into the store and spoke with a couple managers and they 'said' they'd take care of it but they went on with their joking. I returned to the store again today and she was again parked in a disabled spot. As I'm walking through the store I overheard snickering from said officer saying something like "There are 6 spots out there, what's the big deal?" The big deal is she's not physically disabled and too lazy or too hot for her hair to walk across the parking lot. She's supposed to be there to enforce the rules for the customer, not break them herself! The managers that laughed it off yesterday are millennial dumbasses...I'm fairly certain the officer is a millennial also. Where's the work ethic?!

This Safeway is not at all concerned about COVID-19, employees and customers alike roam around without masks on or not properly on the face.

Shopping in Burien, Washington…read more.. This location of Trader Joe's was relatively close to my high school classmate's home, so I stopped by quickly to take a look beforeIhad to meet up with her. I was so happy to see that the peach-colored AND turquoise-colored mini insulated coolers were available (at the entrance)! They're really handy as my niece has been using them to bring her leftover dinner to work for lunch the next day! She said that these mini coolers are a good size! I got some for her father, sister, and mother! Inside, this Trader Joe's was clean, spacious, organized, and well-lit. I got some snacks, greeting cards, and some yellow nectarines! I started looking for the store mascot and asked the cashier if these plushies were the ones. I showed her a photo on my phone, spotted the correct mascot, and took a photo when a female worker approached me and told me that "no photos were allowed in the store". I thought that she was joking until I looked at her facial expression. She was serious. Shucks. Oh, well... it's over. We got our prize (a lollipop) and took a photo outside of the store. We still went back the next day for more snacks and greeting cards because I had a bit more space in my luggage... LOL!

Examples: Four full-sized muffins, $2.50. Poppyseed and Raisin Bran are fantastic. Four medium-large cinnamon rolls, $3.59 LOADED with icing. Half pies, $4.59; apple, pecan. Croissants, breads, what have you. It's a great deal. However, there is still the issue with the bags. I have noticed QFC at least bringing back handles on their paper bags, but not at this Fred Meyer. Yet. I emailed Mike Johnson head of Kroger about this, but--I only expect a response in the form of bags with handles. Safeway still uses plastic bags with handles, and they're not as good as Kroger, Fred Meyer. So why won't they keep up? Obviously, it's not a state mandate, otherwise nobody could get plastic bags anywhere. Bread. Pastries. Beans. Chips. Trash liners. Cereals. Bagels. Rice. Potatoes. Produce. Salad. Pasta. Over half the items in the stores use plastic bags, so why should the carry-out bags be any difference? Won't make a dent. I just bring in my Safeway plastic bags when I go to Fred Meyer. Not to be a jerk, mind you, but to prove a point. Bags with handles are best.

The shoes, white short sleeve button up shirt with a blue tie and navy blue or black slacks to match! I was a courtesy clerk at 16 when there was etiquette, training and most definitely strict representation of the store's brand! No matter who you asked from the bagger to the manager, if they worked there, they knew where literally everything was located and if something was out of stock! Nowadays I get a lot of confused looks or "I don't know" and they walk off without attempting to assist! Nowadays you're lucky if you can find 1 committed, hard-working courtesy clerk at any store! To...I digress, let's get it! I initially ordered their 4 piece for $5 and a 1/2 lb of JoJo's. The 1st associate was very welcoming, sincere and thoughtful when picking out the 4 pieces. She'd just saved me a coupon and a trip to kfc for a $5 2 piece meal! As I was leaving there was a man at the door asking for change for food, I searched my pockets and found nothing so I said that I had nothing, he thanked me anyway. I went to my truck to see if I had any change there, I didn't so I went and gave the man my 4 piece and JoJo's and went back inside and ordered another for myself...this was the other associate. I ordered the same thing and she gathered it but not taking time to check the food for what's freshest and what's not like the previous associate had done. I came home and immediately regretted not saying anything; over 1/2 the jojo's were hard and stale! The pieces of chicken she choose weren't any better! Some weren't even hot, but they're all sitting in the warmer together so how is that?! It's the end of the day, I get it. It's a busy mother's Day, I get it. Customer satisfaction is your job...Get it?! Do Better!! To the initial associate: Thank you for your dedicated service! The man in need got some well selected fresh chicken for dinner and I'm grateful for that!

So please explain to me how it's acceptable to charge customers for grocery bags and deny restroom access, forcing someone with a neurological condition into an impossible situation: either urinate in the parking lot and risk civil consequences or humiliate myself by having an accident. That is not customer service. That is not dignity. That is not accessibility. If the concern is theft and vandalism, let's be honest about the problem. Having two security guards camped at the front door checking receipts clearly isn't solving it. Meanwhile, legitimate customers -- including disabled customers -- are punished instead. I shouldn't have to disclose a medical condition or beg for basic human needs just to buy groceries. The ADA exists for a reason, and so does basic human decency. This store has two entrances but only uses one, with two security guards posted at the front door. If theft and vandalism are the concern, this approach clearly isn't working. Instead, legitimate customers -- including disabled customers -- are being punished. Safeway, do better. Right now, you're choosing not to.

So, I made the trip to get Upton's Traditional Seitan and just explore the store. They have a variety of good options, especially for those who create their own meals and like to use whole-grain ingredients. The store is compact, but it offers a wide variety of products. You can purchase assorted nuts by the ounce, or packaged options. They also have a selection of fruits, vegetables, a hot bar, a deli section, and kombucha. I noticed that many of the brands they carry have fewer ingredients, less artificial flavoring and sugars. I visited this store specifically to purchase seitan, and I ended up buying a couple of packages for $5.29 each, which I find to be a reasonable price. I couldn't find this brand at any other store, but I chose it because it has minimal ingredients, low fat and sodium content, and a generous amount of protein at 2 ounces. Many processed foods have a long list of ingredients and oils, which makes them unhealthy and fatty. As a vegetarian who is trying to eat cleaner, I appreciate this product. I also tried the Brew Doctor kombucha, which usually costs $2.50. However, they have a special offer where you can buy two bottles for a discounted price. The kombucha is very light and refreshing, not overpowering with vinegar or sugar. Overall, it's worth the drive to get this product. I'll definitely be coming back for it and other products in the future.
