a woman shopping in a grocery store

Ok Safeway, I need you to do better than this! You knew the snowstorm was coming and I know this is not your first rodeo. I went in around 9pm-ish to purchase a couple of things because I knew I was not leaving the house the next day due to the snowstorm. And no, I did not go to Safeway to purchase snowbound food which I call "BMW". (Bread, Milk, Water) Lol. I needed real goodies along with everyone else, which brings me to why you are receiving a 1-Star! ONE star to represent the ONE cashier you had working! There were two cashiers when I approached the line, however, she told me the person ahead of me was her last customer! I then went to the next cashier and low and behold the lady in front of me had over $400 worth of groceries! This is not an exaggeration! So I have two options, wait patiently or put my things aside and walk out. I opted for patience. The customer behind me had even less items than myself, she had maybe 3 items at best. She was also turned away from the first cashier. However, it gets worse because one minute later, two people walk up to the "closed" cashier, lay their items on the belt, and proceed to pay for their items! Not a peep from the cashier saying she was closed! The customer behind me and myself were not only shocked, but livid! As we started to question this situation, another cashier finally came out to reopen the first line, but the crazy thing was, no one said anything! The replacement cashier didn't say, "I'm open...whose the next customer in line?" She just opened her register and waited until some customers saw her and decided to take their chance by walking up asking if she was open. This 10 minute trip turned into a 45 minute trip!

Very nice grocery store.

This was my first visit. The store was neat and clean. I found everything that I needed. My cashier was a hoot! He was also encouraging. And the young lady at the Starbucks was very pleasant and fixed my chai tea latte just right. I've found another go to grocery store when I'm in Waldorf.

Big store. Not cheap unless you know yout grocery game, which is check out manufacturer coupons once you've added the store coupons and sale items already onto your card from home. Then, roll through the store with your smartphone sticking to your list. You have serious game once you stop in the meat section and stock up everything going out of date that day, which can be bought for 50+ percent off plus applicable store ad discounts. You are then the King or Queen B like me because you do all of this when they're doing their 2x or 3x gas rewards promo. This store, my wallet, and big ass gas tank are full of win. Also, check out the scratch and dent/overflow area in the way back for super crazy deals. No I'm not a hoarder I just know how to do it right. Times are tough and you gotta be creative when feeding your family. This is the best store in the area by far but it still ranks below the Holy Grail of supermarkets - Wegmans. I'm not trying to drive to Largo to spend all the money I'm saving here.

Nice location, wait times for checking out can be long. Also it can be hard to find a cart sometimes. Other than that I have no complaints. The pharmacy has long hours and is open on weekends. The pharmacists change a lot but they are always nice and helpful.

I had a great experience at Trader Joe's in Old Town and wanted to give a special shoutout to…read moreNathan for the outstanding customer service. I originally came in to make a return, and he processed it very quickly and smoothly with no hassle at all. Later on, I ended up going through his checkout line, and he was just as friendly and helpful. He even took the extra step to make sure the orchid I purchased was packed securely so it would make it home safely. It's small touches like that that really stand out and make a difference. Shopping there felt easy and welcoming, and Nathan made a simple trip to the store feel like a great experience. Customer service is everything at the end of the day, and it means a lot to me to go to a store and receive genuinely good service. Because of that, I will definitely be back. Great job, Trader Joe's, and thank you again to Nathan for the excellent service!

You really can't go wrong with Trader Joe's. The prices are competitive and the food quality is…read moreconsistently good. Most items are Trader Joe's brand, and a lot of them honestly beat big-name brands. The frozen snacks are excellent overall, with only a few misses, and you can't go wrong with the spices, meat, or coffee. One thing I really like is that you can actually ask a crew member to open a snack so you can try it right there. If you don't like it, no worries at all. The produce is fresh, and the staff keeps the store well stocked and easy to shop even if it's crowded. The ambiance feels like a small local grocery store, which makes shopping there more enjoyable. The staff is friendly and incredibly helpful, and Trader Joe's easily has the fastest baggers of any grocery store. Depending on what you're making, you might need to stop at a larger store for a few specialty items, but I can usually handle my full weekly grocery run here.

Inconvenience is not "quirky."…read more Aldi is a decent market where you'll be able to get most, but not all, of what you need, for mostly good prices. However, they have certain business practices that seem to exist for no other reason than to make them "stand out," and irritate the customer. First- the carts. You need to slot in a quarter to get a cart. Its 2018, I barely even carry around paper money. No one is going to steal your carts, Aldi. Nobody cares. Thanks for making me navigate a too-small parking lot with a cart just to get my quarter back. Your system is antiquated and actively hostile to the customer. Second- bagging. I have no problem with paying an extra five cents for bagging. Aldi charges ten cents, which is pathetic but whatever. I use a handful of bags- and reuse them for other things. I'm willing to pay for some bags. What I DO have a problem with is the bagging system. You don't even ask if I want bags, and you just start chucking loose items into my cart? I'm not spoiled. I'm fine with bagging my own stuff. What annoys me is that I'm expected to put up with you speeding through my items, chucking them into the cart, and then having me (and everyone else) go stand off to the side to re-pack everything. PROVIDING POOR SERVICE AND ACTING AS IF YOU'RE DOING ME A FAVOR IS NOT OKAY. Here's an (incredibly obvious) fix: have the cashier ask if I want bags. If yes, give them to me, and hand me the items as they're scanned, and I'll put them in bags. Honestly the whole experience really soured me on Aldi. It's hipster nonsense- being deliberately inconvenient so they can seem "unique."

Was excited to see seeded watermelons and seeded grapes! We also grabbed some jelly's and apple butter. The Apple Butter took me back to Sunday mornings breakfast at Grandmas. The bakery side had a variety of yummy treats from doughnuts, pies, cookies and cakes. Definitely grabbed a few for later. The Apple Pie ice cream my hunnie ordered was delicious. Tasted just like Apple Pie. Looking forward to our next adventure here already.

I finally got to stop by on my own to grab some of their banana pudding. It was amazing as their other products I've tried at my friend's. It wasn't too sweet yet had the perfect sweetness to fill your craving. The bread inside the pudding was soft. The pudding itself showcases the quality of their farm. I also grabbed a Dutch Apple Half which was perfect. The top is dressed with nuts and caramelized apples. The baker entrance is on the left had side. You make your way through the bakery full of donuts, pies, ice cream, cookies and an area full of swag. The counter to check out is near the front of the building at the exit door. So the customer foot traffic flows well. The exit door takes you to the front of the building near the concession counter. The concession counter has a variety of food options; I have yet to try. That's on the list for my next visit. I usually visit my friend for meals so I'll have to set a time to have food at the farm. Next is the market on the right side of the concession stand. The market has farm fresh vegetables and meats. There are dairy products such as cheese. You'll also find jam and pickled peppers. The section of Amish goods caught my eye; the medicine in particular. Customer service was excellent. I'm glad I finally got a chance to stop by the farm myself, and plan to stop by to try more items.
