I'm spoiled and even though it was my fault for procrastinating and not keeping up with my bizness...I STILL WANT WHAT I WANT, WHEN I WANT IT!) LOL! So anyway....I find Bixby Health & Safety, and it was workin with my schedule. I paid and reserved my spot online (cuz I was in NO mood to be talkin on the phone right about then). Lol. And after I got off work Saturday morning and came home to shower, I was all up in that piece at the designated time. Kobby (the instructor) had me looking sideways at him for a second. Super tall brotha, with loooooong dreads. But to my amazement, he was entertaining, professional, practical, and cool with his teaching. There were 3 newbies in the group, and 3 of us getting re-certed. The class was decent. Very informative (there were changes since my last re-cert). The only thing I have a complaint about (which is why it only got 4 stars instead of 5) is that I felt it should have gone faster, smoother, for the recerts. After all, it wasn't our first time at the rodeo.....if ya know what I'm saying. Lol. Yeah, yeah, I'm impatient. So what. It goes down like that over here. Anyway, I breezed through the exam, in like 2 seconds flat. Got my new card and got the *BLEEP* on. Not in an attitudish way, but I felt like the newbies were the reason why I wasn't back at home already and in bed asleep cuz I had to work that night too. Long, (but ENTERAINING) story short.....if you need your BLS (CPR card) for work, school, or personal reasons.....go to this spot. Kobby is mad cool, and will even throw you a bottle of cold water because huffin and puffin in those masks gets you out of breath. (Especially if you smoke Kools like it's going out of style). Lol. I scheduled my NRP skills session through the official NRP website after I had completed the online…read moredidactic portion, and when I arrived, the office was completely deserted, locked doors, no staff, nothing. After working a full night shift and driving here, I was met with total chaos and zero communication. No notice, no explanation...just an empty office wasting my time and energy. This is beyond unprofessional. It's unacceptable, infuriating, and shocking that an organization handling certifications can operate this way. Now I have to rush to find another provider to complete my NRP renewal. Absolutely appalling. This is why I refuse to pay for services BEFORE they are rendered. I should have read the reviews prior to scheduling because this is apparently the norm for his business practices. (I will include of photo of another review of a similar situation) but considering I scheduled this VIA the NRP website I did not believe it would be unprofessional. 10/10 would not recommend.

You learn the basics and everything you need to perform CPR with one or two people while taking turns. I would definitely recommend anyone who is looking for a professional place to learn and become certified, look no further. I had to get the CPR for BLS providers and they offer that. That includes first aid training and using AED if needed. This is where you want to get your training. Thanks to my instructor for being so helpful. However stressful this class is, actually working the job is definitely more so, especially if you want to do 911. Here's some advice, though-- don't take the accelerated program if you need to work or attend school at the same time. Excuses are not accepted here. If you like dogs, there's a giant one named Bourbon. If you're allergic to dogs, either bring medicine or consider going elsewhere. Overall, highly recommend.

On the first day of class, the owner/administrator/instructor made sarcastic comments towards my daughter about the color of her school supplies stating "Oh, you think you have enough pink?" Also, when she was unable to answer a question regarding the subject matter, he responded "Maybe if you didn't sit in that f*** a$$ corner in the back, you'd actually know the answer". This comment was made towards a person with no previous medical experience. My daughter suffers from anxiety related to bullying in high school. So to be intimidated and belittled by an instructor on her first day of post-secondary education is uncalled for and unprofessional. My daughter did not feel comfortable proceeding with the program under the instruction of this individual. Given that she attended that first day, she is ineligible to receive a refund for the $250 registration fee per their policies and course enrollment agreement. There are multiple Yelp reviews as to the inappropriate behavior and treatment inflicted by this individual along with statements about the loss of the registration fee. Aside from bullying, this feels akin to a scam. Students are harassed and embarrassed but are left at a financial loss. There is no oversight for this individual as that he is the owner/administrator. Students have no recourse and no support. This individual is left untethered to inflict his particular brand of harassment on the students. And because they attended even one day of class, he gets to keep their money.
