An excellent school with a wonderful teacher. I would recommend this program to any friend interested in becoming a CNA or HHA. Helen, the teacher has so much passion for teaching new CNA's or HHA's to be the best they can be. If I had a skilled nursing facility I would recruit Helen's students.

And communicating with the teacher by text was kind of odd for me and zelling as well. So before I decided to actually send any type of money I wanted to make sure that the communication with the instructor was very clear the before I came on board to start my nursing career. DEPOSIT is $250 to hold your seat in class, Non Refundable .. I started class the 8/28. A lot of information , a lot of skills , a lot of patient care. Enough material to learn and be confident in your skills before the Class comes to an End. Momma Helen is very straightforward, Close the Bathroom door behind you, help with putting everything up when you are doing skills, close the door if the FAN is on and Do NOT talk while she is talking ..oh Use your soft voice when doing skills outside, she will go more into detail with this. If you want to pursue nursing but unsure where to start or need a State License with direct patient care and doing home health and it does not require you to be gone all day, pay so much and not in school for 3-6 months. Momma Helen can help you also get a CPR card.. HHA as well, and refer you to a great Employer. Good Luck and You have all the Material you need to pass and be confident with your skills.

The primary instructor, Helen has repeatedly shared inaccurate and unprofessional information, particularly about COVID-19 patient care, etc. In one class, she told students that CNAs shouldn't work with COVID patients because "it's not worth risking your life for extra money," and claimed she was offered extra pay during the pandemic but refused to show up to work. She also suggested that those who did work "risked their lives unnecessarily." This type of message is highly discouraging and completely inappropriate for future healthcare professionals. In addition, Helen struggles with basic teaching fundamentals: * Mispronounces and misuses medical terminology * Gives unclear explanations of anatomy and physiology * Fails to answer questions, especially from online students, who are often ignored or dismissed. The online platform is not interactive, and lectures are rushed, making it hard to absorb essential material. It feels like the school is more focused on enrolling and graduating students quickly for revenue, not on delivering proper education. I've documented my experience and have recordings of class sessions where these statements were made. I've submitted a formal complaint to the California Department of Public Health for investigation. If you're looking for a serious, high-quality CNA program, I would not recommend AECareer Institute.

I can't speak for all classes but since you stay with the same group of people you get to make friendships and connections with amazing people who share the same passion as you. Most of the good instructors left, and students are left with teachers who lack proper credentials and can't effectively teach the material. Communication is a joke--students are told to use Teams for help, but when you actually speak up, you get silenced, pushed into private messages, or removed entirely. Externship placements were also concerning. Some sites were poorly maintained, had little to no patients, and didn't follow what we were taught. I personally witnessed behavior that raised serious ethical concerns, which made the experience even more frustrating as a student trying to learn the right way. Leadership is basically nonexistent. The principal, Amita, is rarely seen and doesn't take student concerns seriously. On top of that, there was constant staff turnover--multiple instructors, the DMS program director, and financial aid staff all left before I even graduated. Policies constantly change, and they hide behind "subject to change" disclaimers even when things were clearly misrepresented at the start. If you have money to waste, this might be the place. Otherwise, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

It was one of the most traumatic experiences of my life. For the most part, she received quality care. It was the horrible care she received an acute care facility, that motivated me to pursue a career as a health care advocate for seniors. The seniors without family and friends received subpar care and treatment. I was at the facility daily and had to pull teeth to insist on her getting the bare minimum care. My employment background is mostly in transportation and finance. I cared for my mom and received a 40 hour a month salary for 24 hours a day care as an IHSS provider. I wanted to expand my resume and become a Certified Nurse Assistant as well as a Certified Home Health Care Provider. My goal is to have a few clients to assist from home to the hospital. I needed an online school that would allow me to have days free to address probate, financial and grief therapy concerns. I googled CNA schools in the Riverside county area and selected McKallen Medical. The knowledge I obtained at McKallen not only broadened my natural patient centered care instincts, it provided me with additional tools, resources and knowledge that has opened my heart and soul. I enrolled in the CNA course 4 months after my moms death. I was stuck in the bargaining stage of grief. I was being triggered by some of the lessons. It was a daily barrage of " if I could of, would of, should of" mental gymnastics. Logically, I knew that I did not have the knowledge to know what steps could have made a difference in my mothers care. However, in the midst of grief, you are filled with guilt and despair. After my first week of theory, I notified administration and told them I was struggling with the course. Tre Green, was not only understanding, he was compassionate and empathetic. He advised me to take as much time as I needed and pursue the course when I was ready to move forward. Eventually I re-started the course with Instructor Mary Montantes-Peck. She was a SUPERB INSTRUCTOR. She is passionate, knowledgeable and engaged. She is the prime example of passing on to others what she embodies as a human being. I am a firm believer that we give to the world, the skills, values and growth mindset that we have. Mary's knowledge about resident/patient care comes from a deep compassionate core. Alex Portillo, the clinical instructor, was great as well. Alex made what could have been a high stress environment into a calm, smooth and knowledgeable experience. There were a few issues with the skills lab training, so this is the reason for a 4 star review. Overall, I had a wonderful experience. I am deeply grateful and appreciative for what McKallen Medical Training provided. I would highly recommend the school to all potential enrollees. Just go in with an open heart and mind and you will reap the benefits and rewards.

I went to their website and registered for the June course, paid the $250 fee, and only then noticed I had been enrolled in the May session instead. I never even viewed the May option, and this all happened within two minutes. I immediately registered again this time correctly for the June course. Since it was late at night, I couldn't call right away, but I contacted the school the next day to explain the situation and request a refund for the mistaken May enrollment. The woman I spoke with was incredibly rude, dismissive, and repeatedly blamed me, refusing to even hear me out. She said it's my fault and that it's none refundable and that I singed it. She made it clear that they wouldn't help. So, I had no choice but to dispute the charge with my bank. Then today, I received an email saying I was being refunded for the June class the one I actually wanted and was told I'm no longer welcome at their school for making a false dispute which is not true. Meanwhile, three of my friends registered with me, and after hearing about this experience, they've decided to go elsewhere. So congratulations you kept $250, but lost four students.
