Update: We had to take almost a year off of swim lessons as my youngest child hadn't yet turned 3…read more(age minimum for group classes) and I couldn't keep him out of the pool! At the time of this update, we have been back at swim lessons with all three kids for two months now and I'm just as happy if not more so than my first review. This is QUALITY swim education for kids. Long enough to help them make serious progress but short enough not to tax the attention span of a child. The new instructors are amazingly patient and kind. Ms Bethany is a fantastic coach, Martha is amazing as always and every week I watch avidly as my kids light bulbs go on and they master new skills. Best ever! My twins (3.5 years old) have been instructed at level 1/2 (toddlers) here for a month now. It's twice a week for 30 min each lesson. Mr. Skyler is their coach and we will be requesting him or Ms. Martha for every month long session that I have them signed up for until he has zero reservations. This program far surpasses any other instruction we've had them in since they were six months old. It beats the YMCS hands down. My son in particular was really afraid of the water to the point where he hated baths or showers and it became a stress beyond imagining. The first two sessions he was coaxed into the water with tand no allowance at all was made for his fear. It was just...ignored. And it was the BEST thing ever. He lived up to their expectations of performance and now he looks forward to swim class and doesn't hesitate to get in and while he might still have some fears, it doesn't show that much. This last class, he jumped from the side of the pool into the instructors' arms with glee, and he even goes underwater at their say so. I cannot rate them highly enough. While not every instructor we've had is experienced enough to get through my sons' barriers, they are ALL extremely nice and in a little while, those barriers will disappear and we will take any instructor that's available. We plan to continue at this school for as long as the children are still learning and loving it!

I love the instructors here. It's a no frills pool school. It's really just a giant pool under a…read moretype of tent. I had my daughter here for a 2 week 4day program and I could definitely see her confidence and abilities improve! She loves coming here. Also, you need to have goggles for them here. I mention that because in TX, where we're from, they didn't necessarily need them until they were in competitive swimming. Oh and another tip, it's inside that big Green dome type tent enter on the right. Restrooms are in the adjacent building in the locker rooms. I didn't know all that.

On-site dynamic stretch therapists with beds by cryo/heat therapy bed, hydro massager both glorious after workout (15 min changeovers, sharing=caring), decent # weights, Olympic weights and machines but could easily get crowded at peak times. The sauna is now closed and I went to an employee, Sam, and began expressing my concerns to the constant issues with the sauna. End of it Sam argued, didn't care and said it is my choice to be a member and I could find somewhere else. Sam doesn't understand I do my chemo treatment Monday afternoon and my routine includes coming to the gym for mind body and spirt before the infusion center. This is not about a sauna thing this is about a routine I've been doing for a year and some employee with zero care. Sam didn't know and doesn't care because Sam is all about Sam. Anyway end of the day Sam is right. I can choose any gym and just start a new Monday routine there. Please don't hire anymore like Sam. I just spoke to the manager who took time to hear me. Thank you for listening and hearing my words. She also shared with me her father's journey and hers as a caregiver. Real convo with a caring professional. As long as there is management in place like her this gym will only get better. Thanks lifetime and thanks Sam.

I am a 23 year customer of The Dive Shop and there is a reason for that! In fact, two reasons: 1…read more Technical expertise. and 2. Excellent customer service. For those interested in learning the great sport of SCUBA, you will not find a more knowledgeable group of professionals. As awesome and safe as SCUBA is in the 21st century, without proper training it is still dangerous. So, when one's life depends on skills and equipment knowledge one should seek out those who can impart those life preserving skills the best and that would be The Dive Shop! On top of that, Randy and his crew, across the board, treat everyone like family and long lost friends as soon as you walk through the door! Their service department is second to none as well, so if you are already certified and just need your equipment brought up to date you can count on them to do it right and do it quickly.

Just attended a 60th Anniversary celebration there and realized I'd never rated them so will…read morecorrect that now. If you're reading this - you probably fit under one or more of the following: 1) You're considering becoming a diver, 2) You're a diver new to the area; 3) You need to find a local place to service or buy equipment. I think I can recommend them on all these points. I got qualified as a diver there in 2008. They've answered my questions, given me advice. The training has prepared me for events both expected and not, thus enabling me to have fun instead of fear. In short, they've literally kept me alive. They have instructors with varying personalities. I think it's safe to say that all of them have the skills to help you gain certification/improve. However, they all have different personalities. I'd recommend asking about that - perhaps even going as far as interviewing instructors to gauge compatibility. They've arranged purchases and travel, even when I wasn't buying from them. Some items can be bought cheaper through the internet, but we will always need a local shop to provide pool training, fill our tanks and such, so I frequent them to help keep them open. They organize group dive trips to exotic locations at a fair price. During the summer they get small groups to go to local quarries so you can both practice and gain friendships. I met my primary dive buddy in this manner (having a dive buddy allows you to dive more often!). They're not perfect, but they're all about encouraging/enabling you to get out and dive. Can't ask for more than that.
