Both of which were confirmed with multiple confirmation emails directly from Safelite, I take off work to arrive for them to tell me they couldn't contact me to confirm the appointment. When I show them the multiple confirmation emails, the manager Darius Leyland was extremely rude to me as if I screwed up and telling I am no longer allowed to come to that Satellite. I can only console myself knowing that it's probably best that I didn't have this clown show do the work on my car b/c how could that be any better quality of service. Is there anything below 1 star? I had to schedule for both myself and my mother and both times it took multiple days to accomplish the simple job of putting glue into a hole. They cancelled and canceled again after making both of us wait entire days for them. Half the time there was no phone call. And when my windshield was replaced it needed further repair. Made another 2 appointments and another 2 no shows. Finally had to drive myself to their shop and waited hours for a simple touch up. To glue in some trim piece around the edge of the windshield. The people working the office acted like DMV staff from the 1980s. That is, they are there to do you a favor. It should be called Safelite Communist Autoglass. But that would give Communism a bad name. I've never had to give any institution less than 3 stars. And I generally never even write a review unless it deserved 4 stars or more. I've had nothing but trouble with Safelite. A couple years ago I had a ding in my windshield. The guy came to my house, did whatever he did to it and told me I was fine. Three months later that ding became a windshield wide crack. I made an appointment with them in midtown, drove down there in a rainstorm deluge, only for them to tell me that the replacement windshield was cracked. Make another appointment. Needless to say I went elsewhere. A month ago I went to my car and found my drivers side window smashed. I called Geico and they connected me to Safelite. I made an appointment with them to come in two days and they said they would be there between 1:30 and 5:30. They never came! Didn't even call! I had a disastrous experience with this place. They replaced my windshield with a pre-scratched one, then damaged my mirror cover and overhead console in the process. They returned to my place for repairs, only to discover the replacement windshield they planned to install was also damaged. Despite the service being under warranty, their incompetence and dishonesty made me lose all trust in them. I strongly advise against using their services. Rear glass was smashed. Spoke to Alexandria L. today - Saturday morning. She took all my info, I turned down the upsells, patched in my insurance agent to cover everything. Alexandria L said she will send the mobile technician today between 1:30-5:30. I got text and email confirm. And guess what. NOBODY SHOWS UP. I call the help line and basically they tell me Alexandria messed up and I got f-d but there is nothing they can do. A sign of GREAT customer service. They now say they can come out Tuesday - a full 3 days from now. While my car is undrivable, vulnerable at night with broken rear windshield. What the hell is this Safelite. Normally, I would give places the benefit of the doubt, but when you fuck up a reinstall by snapping trim pieces or straight up remove them, leave large gaps between panels, improperly reinstall pieces, and cut cables needed for the car to function, that's a huge red flag. The sheer added disrespect was letting birds take a nice fresh wet shit on my vehicle and leaving it to sit on my vehicle even as I stared at it in the presence of the techs. Whatever you do, do NOT bring your vehicle to this place for any kind of repair. If researching, choose a different Safelite location, but not this one. In the case that you visit, I suggest you be extremely wary and ask questions about the work being done. Request to see the replacement parts after the service is finished based on the Work Order. During my extended wait at the location, other customers in the waiting room had to ask about the progress on their vehicles instead of being notified of finished installation. I also noticed everyone mentioned needing it soon, and only then got their vehicles. This is another bad smell for causing customers to rush on their way out and overlook potential issues from the repairs because of time pressure. Flattery doesn't work if a customer isn't treated respectfully. read more

So, somehow, my windshield suffered a mysterious (and rapidly growing) crack. Thankfully, with Geico, I qualified for a full windshield replacement. The process was so easy. I scheduled an appointment over the phone a few days before; then, I dropped my car off at 8:00 in the morning; by 11:00 AM that same day, Safelite completed the full replacement and my car was ready for pick-up. I had a wonderful experience with them today. I had my front glass broken because of a screw that smashed my window while i was driving. It was awful... sent via my insurance, geico. They covered 100% including labor fee. I originally had it scheduled to be done at my condo but it was raining today. I was asked to visit the shop. Pulled in at 12:05pm and job was done at 1:20pm. The window was sealed well. Technician explained everything that i should be aware of. One problem is that, it says it's vacuumed but not really.. it's a glass shop so.. i wasnt really expecting cleaning. Im not sure why it says it's vacuumed anyways. I had an appointment back in March 2018 to replace a windshield on a Nissan sedan. I made an appointment and they were supposed to come on Friday but nobody showed up. I called them at the end of the day and asked about the status. They said they were backed up and couldn't make it. I said they could have called to say that instead of not calling at all. They then said they would come the next day, Saturday by noon. They didn't come then either. So the appointment was cancelled as I wasn't going to wait another day for them to show up. The following week, on a Wednesday, I got a call from the technician who said they were coming to replace the windshield. Yep, you read that right. That's five days after the initial appointment for them to replace the windshield. I told the technician I didn't think so, he was supposed to come on Friday (or Saturday). This conversation was followed up by a call from the office asking again if I wanted the windshield replaced. I told the woman who called, no thanks and that they were supposed to come on Friday. She again told me they were backed up. I again told them that they could have called to say that on Friday OR Saturday. I wouldn't wait for these guys to show up on time or anytime. read more

BMW X1 was broken into. Went to Safelite to pay out of pocket. I was told that they had the part. Got there and the part they received was for the other passenger side and not the driver. They put the plastic on my car and told me to come back. I made another appointment with them (took off work) for the next week and again I was told the correct part was ordered but the warehouse sent the wrong part. The manager suggested I got to BMW if Manhattan as the closest place that had the part would be 1000 miles away and it would take 2 weeks for the part tot come in. Went to BMW and they said my ORIGINAL PART would be in 3 days. The situation was explained to Geico but geico would rather deal with Safelite because it is cheaper. The manager tells Geico that they had my part in stock and could come back for the install. Ended up having to pay $1000 out of pocket because of the lie they told my insurance company. read more

I put in my claim with Geico April of 2022 to replace my windshield on my 2022 BMW X 4. They suggested I use Safelite. I made an appointment in May. After waiting an hour and a half they tell me they ordered the wrong windshield. I called back in June and spoke to Dylan, he must've been new because he had no idea what he was talking about. He had told me to come in without an appointment. He said my windshield was there and to come and check to see if it's the right one. That didn't sound right to me. Anyway, I showed up and they asked if I had appointment, I said no and Dylan told me to come in. They didn't have the windshield and Dylan wasn't even there. Definitely lack of training for their employees on Safelite's part. I call back in July and the customer service rep tells me that there's a shortage on my windshield and it will be shipped out from Germany on August 18 and they'll call when it arrives. It was September and I heard nothing from Safelite. I called Geico and they said I can choose another glass repair shop which I did. I went to Mr. Glass in Glen Cove and they had my windshield within a week. I will never deal with Safelite again! They're service is horrible! You can't reach the shop directly. Their employees are incompetent. I would give them zero stars if I could. They don't even deserve a star. Go to Mr. Glass. Sal will take care of you. read more

After watching their tv commercials for years, my car window was broken into in an attempted theft, and I went online to schedule a repair. Instead of coming right over to repair the window on the street where I live in Manhattan, they offered appointments a full week out, whether they come to me or I come to them. Even more outrageously, searching within the entire metro NYC area for a shop I could take the car to, every single shop lists as "Appointments Low" and offers nothing better. The rain is pouring into my car and anyone who walks by can reach into it, and I am supposed to wait a week for service? A rock fell on my front windshield so I immediately started a claim via Geico's app. The appointment was set for two days later which surprised me. I work at an Acura dealer and I have some customers wait 2-3 months just for the part to arrive due to the National supply shortage. I called Safelite and confirmed the next day, just to make sure they had the part. They assured me they did. Dropped my car off at 2pm and picked it up EOD, calibration included. If I could give less that one star I would. This review is about the company itself and not so much the individual location, but absolutely abysmal service. Had my appointment canceled three times. Arrived this morning and was told I didn't have an appointment, which I did. They suggested I must've deleted it, which I did not. Now I have to wait another week for the glass to come and I've already been waiting a week. The commercials do not in any reflect the "service" they provide. Update: I forgot to mention that I spoke to customer service and quite honestly they were unhelpful and rude. When I commented that Safelite commercials strongly suggest that service is available same day and is quick and painless the woman I spoke to said, "I'm sorry our commercials do not accurately reflect our service". That is a direct quote, which tells me she's giving that response to many people who have had similar experiences. Your advertising is false and disingenuous. I've never left a negative review in my life, but this is beyond the pale. Update #2: Guess what, I still haven't had my glass replaced. Took the car back for appt #4 at 8am on Saturday May 28th and was told Whoops, we ordered the wrong glass! No phone call or email saying that the wrong glass was ordered. Oh no, Safelite waits till you come to your appt to tell you that they screwed up AGAIN. Now the appt is for June 6. On the off chance that they actually replace the glass this time it will be 3 weeks since my back windshield was completely shattered. Again I cannot convey my astonishment and disgust at this company's total lack of service and ineptitude. It's a good thing for Safelite that the cost is covered by my insurance because there is no way I would be paying the bill for this disaster. As it is I'm being charged for the installation of a new back windshield wiper, which I will not pay for. I had a wonderful experience with Safelite! After a botched windshield replacement at another shop I brought my Toyota Prius to the Astoria Safelite to have the windshield replacement redone. They did an amazing job and were accommodating of me dropping off my car earlier than my scheduled appointment time. The previous shop that did the horrible job had left sealant on my passenger side seat and Safelite got it to come off even though it was not their responsibility to do so. My husband did that when it originally took place and the tech said it wasnt his fault so therefore it was not covered under warranty and they would not replace it when that was absolutely NOT the case. I saw it with my own eyes...the tech also did a very careless and sloppy job. He must have used some sort of tool that left 2 small holes that then started to spread and eventually end up in a huge crack. My husband went in and the tech argued with him and did not fix it. If you are actually going to stand by your product and replace it like it should have been done a year ago then we want to go to a different location. This is the kind of place I wish no one has to come to, but if you do, Safelite AutoGlass makes the experience painless. They get the job done right and quickly. The reason somebody comes to Safelite is to have a window replaced; front, back or side window. That was the case for me last week. You know the drill wake up to move the car; window smashed. After the initial frustration and adjectives, the insurance company arranged for service with Safelite AutoGlass. Safelite has two options for service. They come to you or you go to them. I prefer the later since I don't want my misfortune to be displayed in the streets of Astoria. From the moment I reached the facility they were courteous and efficient. The location was clean and with plenty of AC. The service tech was nice. He walked me through the procedure and told me anywhere from 60 to 90 minutes. Seventy minutes later I was driving home. Thank you!!! I have been to another Safelite AutoGlass in Manhattan and Miami, they all are very professional in their work. This facility like the others I have been to have clean bathrooms and waiting areas. This is important and a very nice way to do business. Safelite AutoGlass was a no hassle experience. Jonny (?) quickly (HR+1/2) replaced my 2019 Lexus windshield. Left glue on the glass and the windshield edge guards left loose and they were quickly displaced. My windshield camera worked improperly in spite of his assurance that it was calibrated. And I tipped the guy $10.00! Returned to have the mgr, Jorge Ramos, resolve some of the issues. Lexus had to recalibrate the camera. The repairmen take no responsibility for their work. The insurance companies don't really care. What a world! read more

My insurance sent me here. And while they got me in the next day, the staff was friendly, and they did a great job at replacing the windshield. They left my car full of shattered glass. They didn't even touch the back seats. I have an SUV and Glass went as far back as my trunk. As a glass replacement company, I would expect them to clean up the glass as they are experienced in this area. Expressed concerns to the staff person that brought me my car. He said that they do the best they don't do anything other than the front seats. He was helpful, he wrapped the driver seat with cellophane and I had towels to place on my seat as I was afraid of getting cut. I had to send m family in a car because I didn't want to put them in danger. I called around for a place that was experienced cleaning glass out of vehicles and finally found a place. It was snowing today so the 9 am appointment had to be cancelled. It kept snowing so it seemed like today our glass would not get done, but Tony the technician noticed that I lived close to the under pass of the BQE and asked if I wouldn't mind meeting him there, that way he could get the job done properly with out the snow/sleet affecting the job. I feel like he really went above and beyond today to get the job done. As a business owner myself who also has 2 year old identical twins my time is very limited. First they called me back to pick up the car before they had calibrated it, which meant I had to leave and come back again hours later (costing me time and money). Very frustrated. I scheduled an appointment for getting windshield fixed at my place on the morning of 3/21/2015. Today is 3/21/2015. It did not snow in all of Queens this morning as far as I know. A service guy called me this morning from Astoria shop saying that it was snowing where he was, which is 15 minutes away and that he couldn't come out to my place. He asked me to come to Astoria shop. I am located in Flushing, the shop is in Astoria. both Flushing and Astoria are in Queens, New York. Again, no snow in Flushing. I told him it's not snowing in Flushing. In any case, please call me and come in the afternoon. he said ok. He calls me few hours later, it's not snowing now where he is, but his car won't start. Very disappointed and frustrated. I waited a week since last Saturday which was when windshield was damaged for someone to come out to my place to fix the windshield. I will have to re-schedule, but not with Safellite! and I will likely have to wait another week. The whole idea behind scheduling an appointment to get windshield fixed at home is that that I prefer not to drive it to a shop to get windshield fixed. Geico, my auto insurance, contracts with Safellite so I scheduled with them. Called Geico. Obviously, still frustrated. Geico representative told me when it snows in the service person's area, all appointments are cancelled. ok fine. but it didn't snow in Astoria, Queens, this morning, confirmed with friend who lives in Astoria. And anyway few hours later the service guy called back and said it is not snowing in Astoria now and he would have come out except now his car isn't starting. I went in to have 2 parts fixed. The windshield and passenger rear window. I have a very large truck so I anticipated it taking a while but not literally the entire day. The guy changing the windows was great however he needed help and no one helped him at all. I sat across the street in the grocery store parking lot and watched him struggle. He should have put his phone down and he could have been that much quicker. Multiple people walked by just sat down and never helped him. I was there from 11:15 am until 5:48pm. Even after that i was intending on leaving a great review. However once i got home i realized the pile of glass still in the vehicle even after the technician said he cleaned it up and got it all out. I had enough glass to fill a grocery plastic bag. Horrible experience here choose any location other than the queens location trust me. I had an appointment to repair my windshield and when I arrived, I was told that they did not have my glasses so I would have to make another appointment for a week later. This was already inconvenient because I do not live in Queens And felt like I should have gotten a call instead of me traveling there and being told they don't have the glass. When I arrive a week later they put the glass on fine but the windshield wiper I purchased was never put on and in a rush I didn't even check and realized later they had forgotten it. So now I have to find my way Bach for a third time and now I'm just handed a windshield blade because they don't replace the arm just the blade. This is something that should have been explained before it was charged. Dislocation was such a disappointment. I've been to Safelite in Manhattan and had such a great experience. I don't understand why the Queens location is not trained well. you guys never apologize. You never try to fix the situation instead just basically brushed off. Bad bad business. read more
