"Safelite Repair, Safelite Replace", was the jingle that popped into my head when a pebble rocketed…read moreoff of the back tire of the car in front of us and chipped our windshield. The damage was minuscule, with a few teeny cracks, but enough where repairs were necessary. In comes Safelite AutoGlass. After confirming with our insurance that we were fully covered, they advised we had the option to go directly to Safelite's office or have a mobile unit come directly to us. I took the earliest availability which brought me to their facility. The process was an easy one. I entered at 8:50a.m. receiving pleasant greetings from the staff for my 9:00a.m. appointment. There's a decent sized, visibly clean waiting area but I chose to walk around outside as the weather was beautiful. The wait was short as I was back in my car by 9:30a.m. with a fully repaired windshield with no signs of damage. The service tech who assisted me, Alan, was a pro. He explained that there's a 15% chance of the crack not adhering to the repair, but based on Alan's exceptional work it's clear we fall in the 85th percentile. Safelite AutoGlass and their staff clearly lived up to their jingle.

I'm very disappointed with my experience with Safelite. I brought my BMW in for a windshield…read morereplacement, and before the replacement, the vehicle had been inspected and was running normally. When I received the vehicle back after the windshield replacement, the front sensor/driver-assistance system was no longer working at all. It did not function from the moment I received the vehicle back. I also noticed that the hybrid system was no longer operating the way it had been before the windshield replacement. The vehicle was not charging/regenerating normally while driving, and the hybrid system was not operating the way it normally had. Within less than two days, I was experiencing multiple warning messages, including a drivetrain malfunction and power-supply warning. I was ultimately told to get the vehicle inspected immediately in case something happened. The vehicle eventually would not start. I cannot say what caused these problems until the BMW is properly diagnosed, but the timing is extremely concerning. The front sensor was not working when the vehicle was returned to me, and additional problems appeared shortly afterward. I have decided to have the vehicle independently diagnosed rather than continue bringing it back to Safelite. I expected my vehicle to be returned in the same working condition it was in when I brought it in, and unfortunately that was not my experience.
