"Safelite Repair, Safelite Replace", was the jingle that popped into my head when a pebble rocketed off of the back tire of the car in front of us and chipped our windshield. The damage was minuscule, with a few teeny cracks, but enough where repairs were necessary. In comes Safelite AutoGlass. After confirming with our insurance that we were fully covered, they advised we had the option to go directly to Safelite's office or have a mobile unit come directly to us. I took the earliest availability which brought me to their facility. The process was an easy one. I entered at 8:50a.m. receiving pleasant greetings from the staff for my 9:00a.m. appointment. There's a decent sized, visibly clean waiting area but I chose to walk around outside as the weather was beautiful. The wait was short as I was back in my car by 9:30a.m. with a fully repaired windshield with no signs of damage. The service tech who assisted me, Alan, was a pro. He explained that there's a 15% chance of the crack not adhering to the repair, but based on Alan's exceptional work it's clear we fall in the 85th percentile. Stay as far away as possible, unless you like to deal with a company with non communication skills, they are late completing on the scheduled time, NO ONE picks up the phone. Installed Aftermarket glass which malfunctioned the cars computer system. Need to replace the newly installed aftermarket windshield and made us wait more then two weeks for a factory glass. second replacement scheduled for 9AM this morning we arrived to pick up at 130PM and still not finished, and said when we finish it will be ready. Another location came out for "warranty" work and confirmed the previous tech broke the panel. Tried contacting them and cooperate with no luck. You call them and they NEVER answer. Now I know why. My windshield was cracked and my insurance set up a home visit with safelight, they never showed up and I could reach them on the phone. I went to office and the lady at the desk told me they had rescheduled my appointment and someone had attempted to let me know. I went for my scheduled appointment and after sitting for almost an hour was told the wrong windshield was ordered for my car. I had to go out of town and did not feel safe driving my car so I had to rent a car for the week. They rescheduled me for today. Went to the office and was told again that the wrong windshield was ordered for my car. They wanted me to come back another day. It was unacceptable. This was the third day that I reset my schedule to have this windshield changed. So basically she found someone who had the windshield and I had to return again to Safelite this afternoon. My whole day was shot and the person who replaced my car windshield and the manager seemed like they had more attitude for a mistake the they made. I don't recommend this place. It was super expensive. They made me wait 2 weeks to fix my car because THEY kept messing up. Once they go it fixed it was half done and had to go into the shop to finish the job the next day. They did not offer me a discount or anything after being delayed. All they do is fix and replace glass. You would think they would be more prepared. read more

I came to Safelite for a glass repair on my Tesla Model Y after talking to a few local body shops and finding out that they didn't have OEM Tesla parts in stock only weeks after contacting them. I made my request through State Farm via phone, it was fast and seamless as State Farm was able to connect me directly to a Safelite rep and they then were able to schedule an appointment for me the next day. The whole repair was completely covered by my insurance so I didn't have to pay. Overall experience was really good, I dropped my car off early so I could go back to work. Upon arriving the receptionist immediately got me through and found a technician for me who then verified they had the right glass for my car. I signed a few waivers and went back to work. My technician Ozuna texted me when he started the job and called me twice with updates for when he got the glass installed and when it was ready for pickup (when calibration was finished). Overall really nice technician and he did a great job, glass was seated properly and calibrated properly. The only potential downside to my experience was that I had to travel from Queens to Bronx and had to pay a toll to do so. This isn't the shops fault but more so the Safelite rep on the phone not realizing I had to cross a toll, she just chose the location closest to me on the map. read more

I had an appointment scheduled for 3/7/25, to replace my windshield, I was quoted online $692 24 hours later I received an email saying that the actual amount would be $1300+ because of recalibration. Which is fine car has adaptive cruise control want that to be safe. The issue was I received a call from someone who asked me if I wanted to cancel the appointment because of the rate change and I expressed my concern about the money change but informed her not to cancel my appointment. Sometimes you get a bad vibe from someone and shadiness. I called back to double check on my appointment only to find out that she removed me from my appointment. I spoke to someone else on 3/6/25 who said she won't be able to do anything about getting my appointment back. I asked for a call back to help mitigate that situation. Rep replacing my windshield did a poor job of explaining what else needed replacing. Safelight customer service also did a poor job of explaining and were unprofessional when they abruptly hung up the phone (I guess they don't like to be questioned). The way this business operates just makes zero sense. When I got there they told me it would take 2 hours, fine I'll stick around. They didn't even move my car to the garage until I was there for an hour and 45 mins. From there it took them another TWO HOURS to change my windshield. That's crazy. If it's going to take that long, fine but tell me. And why do I have an appointment time if they're so backed up that they can't service my car tiil hours later??? Their customer service sucks. Sat there for an hour after they took my keys to find out they didn't have the glass. They then tell me it will be in , In two days I get there on Thursday no glass now they trying to find an OEM they tell me Monday it will be here. Tuesday it will definitely be here Today is Wednesday. I ended up finding my own glass repair shop even found the glass myself at the junkyard. After replacing my car's windshield in May, I had to make 4 additional stops before the problem was corrected. The camera case on the windshield was loose and continued to get dislodge every time I hit a bump on the road. On the 4th visit, last week, they decided to replace the entire windshield again and the process took 4 hours. I have to say they did a better job the second time around. read more

i recently I got my windshield replaced. I then had a huge leak. Water everywhere. It wasn't my windshield. It was my sunroof. Associate Henry C. went ABOVE AND BEYOND. Safelite call center SUCKS. The customer service is terrible. I had an appointment for them to come to my house but it was raining so I brought it in. I had a two inch crack and they looked at it and said the windshield needed to be replaced and when they returned it the crack had spread to the drivers side. They made another appointment and after I called to verify when I left work to drop it off they said it was canceled and they couldn't fix it the next day due to rain. They are very unreliable. I tried to call corporate and they dismissed my concerned. I found a place near my job that is pleasant and reported no problems with the request. read more

I took my car to this safelite to have a window changed. The person at the front desk told me that it would take 1.5-2 hours to get it done. Mostly according to him because of the cleanup of the broken glass inside the car. I told him I was in a rush and asked him to just fix the glass and I would take care of the broken glass. They finished 2 hours later and all of the broken glass was still inside the car and the window they installed was a complete different tint of the original window and the rest of the cars windows. When I asked why they installed the wrong color I was told that was what I asked for. I did not. Then they said the one they installed is factory original. It is not. Finally one of the installers told me it was installed without asking me because I was in a rush. Another while trying to explain it to me said "my boy, this is the original window." Im 50 years old, he was around 30 and I bought the car brand new and never tinted the windows so obviously he was lying and incredibly disrespectful. took me 20 days to get my windshield and back window repair .. it was always a problem finding the appointments so I had to make a new appointment 3 times .. I was approved by the insurance for a OEM windshield and also noted and still put a aftermarket windshield.. I made my appointment, dropped off my car and within a few hours my windshield was replaced, clean and ready to go. The satellite technician Ismael damaged my mothers 2019 BMW by putting glue on the windshield camera after installing it upside-down. Then the manager Victor REFUSED to take responsibility for the damage. He was rude and horrible on the phone. They don't know what they are doing. They didn't know the camera was upside-down. If I could give zero stars I would. Safe lite in the Bronx on zerega Ave has the worst service/customer service I've ever experience. Before taking my car, I called multiple times to make sure they had the correct glass because I have a special addition vehicle. They assured me they matched the glass to my specific car. I took my car to have the rear glass installed after a break in. Of course they installed a different glass. Three days later it rained heavy, all the water got in my trunk. I went back and was told there was an air leak and water leak test done and they found no leak. I was told they would fix it but needed a replacement glass to do so as back up. I had an appointment, I showed up to be told, the part never came they would call me when it arrived in two or three days. Never received a call. I called a week later to be brushed off and put on hold for 30 mins, every time I called back no one answered. Heres when it gets really interesting, technically the glass was never installed, it is literally pasted/glue on top of my door, there's a rubber piece that is supposed to fit in the seem for the window instead it's covering a nice portion of my rear lights.
