I had a windshield replacement scheduled for a 5- hour window. Sat home all afternoon and at 5:30 p.m., the tech calls and snivels that he had been given 6 jobs and only had time for 5. He wanted to reschedule. Good luck with that. I am not using these people again, as they are unprofessional and did not have the courtesy to call until after it was turning dark, and there was no way they could do the job. If Florida, the insurance company has to cover the windshield damage, and you can take it wherever you want. I will drop it off at Ford, which is competent and will do it when it is scheduled. With roads deteriorating, it's normal to get one or two nicks in a windshield. I had 3. It was the crack that started spreading that necessitated a new windshield. We heard good things about this Safelite, so this is where we decided to have the windshield replaced. We dropped off my Sonata Friday morning at 7:30AM and we were told it would take 2-3 hours to replace my windshield. The job was done by 9:10! We picked it up at 10:30. Our insurance company handled the bill, so this was a great value. So far, so good. My forward camera works. The windshield is perfect (for now). Problem since the beginning! My windshield got cracked due to a Contractor carrying rocks in a dump truck that wasn't covered (tarp). Contacted my Insurance Company and they gave me Safelite that would come down the next day or two. I had scheduled an appointment and HAD to wait 2 weeks! Then GOT THE TRACKER - stating "TECH WAS ON HIS WAY" then he went POOF! So I got told he went to lunch. HE FINALLY DID SHOW UP after 3 hours later! There's NO VALUE saved here! The Tech damaged my headliner, he cut through it (with his knife) and since I had an incoming phone call, I told him to fix the headliner before you leave. When I came back outside was told "ALL DONE" and don't drive it for another couple of hours. I wasn't going anywhere. Left the SUV where it was... then the next morning... I find my headliner has NOT been fixed that HE CUT! I called and text, they told me "he will come out right away" - YEAH RIGHT! I had to wait 2 weeks again for them to show back up. THE NEXT TECH: Showed up, barely knocked on the door (in fact, I have a very expensive high end security cameras - 2 of them) and he barely "touched the door" three times... then stood back - TEXT TEXT TEXT and left.... Total time? 1 Minute and 47 seconds. I had only stepped inside JUST BEFORE he arrived - I had to go to the bathroom. HE JUST LEFT after I stepped outside and WAITED FOR HIM ALL DAY LONG until 3:49 PM - I came back inside - I was sick, and burning up, and I check the phone and he was here hours ago, and I checked my Security camera and it can only leave one saying "W T H?! W T F?!" THAT TECH WROTE A FALSE REPORT STATING "NO DAMAGES" - AIR HEAD - try to explain the photo there to everyone! I called and was informed the Manager or the Supervisor will arrive first thing in the morning! SO I WAITED ALL DAY OUTSIDE AND THEY WERE A NO SHOW! THIS TIME AROUND I HAD THE STUPID PHONE ON ME... and NO email, NO text, NO NOTHING! Right now, I have an appointment for the 3rd time around (I SCHEDULED IT) and I expect to see one of their a$$e$ on May 16th! Otherwise I will be sending the bill to Safelite for $1,290.75 for the time I've waited outside and all this nonsense run around! The people who work at this location are professional and sweet. They told us how it is. Because we have USAA and it was smaller than a dollar bill the repair was free. The attendant who worked on our car also gave us free wipers because ours were really old and as he said - doing more harm than good. The repair is good. You can tell there was something there. Ask to speak to a human and the call was disconnected On my 8th try I was able to get to a person who was very unhelpful. The speed in which Safelite came out to fix my windshield may only be rivaled by Jimmy John's sandwich delivery! I mean, I really don't know how to explain just how fast Andrea arrived at my house after I put in an online work ticket. Within minutes of submitting an online request for service, Andrea called my cell phone and confirmed she would arrive within 35 minutes. She got here quickly, the service only took 30 minutes total beginning to end, and they filed the paperwork with my insurance company. She took extra care to protect my vehicle during the repair, fully cleaned her work area on my vehicle after the service was complete, and she sanitized my keys before giving them back to me. The service was outstanding but the customer service made it a pleasure. I don't recommend having a rock chip your windshield, but if you do, Safelite will get you back in business ASAP. This establishment is the worst at customer service! It absolutely deserves zero or negative stars. I scheduled windshield replacement via their website and agreed with the quoted price and paid in advance of the appointment. They called to confirm the appointment twice; I took the day off work that day. On the morning of the appointment, I get a call from them saying my car needs to be brought into their shop (for some safety calibration). Then he said it's going to cost me $395 more! I objected and he quickly put his manager on. This guy was unsympathetic, rude and did not do anything to offer an apology for THEIR screw-up or to make this right and keep me as a customer. In fact, he simply hung up on me. Highly unprofessional conduct. 1. Could have discussed the website screw up on allowing to schedule a mobile appointment when they called initially to confirm. 2. Absolutely terrible. 2 weeks to get the actual appointment. First time I get there and replacement glass is damaged. No call no apologies but glad I wasted 30 minutes driving to their shop. Rescheduled appointment and this time sat in their lobby for 20 minutes before they come out and say the same thing. I made my appointment to have my front windshield replaced by Safelite in Palm Harbor through my insurance company. The day before my appointment I came by the Safelite office and spoke to the employee at the front desk. I explained that I was concerned that the window in my Prius V would not be replaced with the same window which has an approximate 3 inch tinted border along the top. I was told that this particular tint was standard on all the windows installed by them. I questioned a second time about the tinting and lifted my hands to specifically illustrate that the tinted border at the top goes from the center to each side, all along the top of the windshield. The Safelite representative illustrated with her hands that again the tinting along the top of the windshield goes all the way from one side to the other, stretching her hands out to illustrate that this is standard on all the windows they install. I kept my appointment to have my new windshield installed completely assured twice during my visit the day before the work that this would be done. It was not done. When I telephoned Wednesday the technician picked up the phone and took my call. He let me know he had done the install, heard my complaint, and we agreed I would come in the next day, Thursday, January 22 at 11:00 AM to correct the install. Before I could arrive the Assistant Manager called to let me know they "possibly" could not correct this as it was not a standard install and that the tinting on my windshield was an aftermarket addition. I explained how I came by the day before my repair to insure I would have the same window and I was assured that it would be the exact window as this was standard on their installs. I would like my repair done as it was promised. This was totally misleading to tell me this would be done and now be told it is not part of their install and nothing will be done. read more

I do not understand how the "replacement " windows do not fit like factory ones. The carpet will still need to be taken care of. Most likely pulled out to make sure there is no mold and I will push to have them replace the carpet. I am at the point now where I may get 8 on your side involved. August 17,2018 update So now Safelite is replacing the window again ( this time with a window from Toyota) fingers crossed that it works like new and fits the way it should. They purchased a new rear window from Toyota and installed it as well as ordered new interior carpet for my truck from the water damage and had me in a rental while the work was completed. I should have known there was gonna be an issue when at first I noticed the install tech was too lazy to go inside my vehicle and get the actual mileage of my vehicle. Instead he guessed the mileage and said it wouldn't matter, even though he was going to be submitting the receipt with mileage to my insurance. The cheap quality windshield cracked on its own not even 5 minutes after the tech completed the install. Now I have to wait a whole week to get it replaced because the glue is "too new". Add the 4 hour time window I waited for them to show up with the 2 hours it took for the warranty appointment today and the additional 4 hour window its gonna take next week and that's literally a day of my life wasted. We have our 2023 Subaru Forester windshield crack repaired by Safelite Palm Harbor mobile service on 02/23/24 arranged by our AllState auto insurance. The technician not only did a terrible job, the crack still looks the same as before the repair but also causes two more cracks from the original crack, and he also causes a dent on the hood where he was working on. We tried to contact the store many times but the phone number listed on the google/web does not allow a direct connection to the store, and this was routed to Safelite customer care center. It was through the customer care that we were able to talk to Chris, at the store, who took down our information and complaints, and told us that he will notify store manager, Cory., that Cory will contact us the next day. Cory did not call us back till we have made several calls to the customer care in the following 3 days. The customer care center sent out another technician from same store (Palm Harbor location) to inspect the damages. The technician told us that the tech who worked on our car was new. He told us that Cory will contact us the next day, but he did not call us till we contacted the technician again. Cory told us on the phone (this was on 03/09/2024) that he will file the claim on damages to their insurance company and we should be hearing from him or insurance company no later by the end of next week. The next week came and gone, and we have not heard from anybody, and we called the store direct number (727-786-2512) on 03/18/2024 in the afternoon, and Chris answered the phone again, and he told us Cory is not in today, and he will ask Sam, the assistant store manager to contact us the next day. We did not hear from any body AGAIN the next day We called same number on 03/20/2024, and Chris answered the call and apologized that Sam did not call. He states Cory already left for the day. He states he will make sure Cory will call us the next day. Today is the next day (03/21/2024). We have not heard from anybody from Cory, Sam, Chris or anybody from Safelite Palm Harbor.. When we called 7272-786-2512 this afternoon, and no one answered the phone, and no voice message available to leave message This store does not honor their word, does not care about their customer. They just do NOT care. We will notify our All State insurance about this store and it is possible that they tried not to fix the windshield crack correctly so the entire windshield has to be replaced. More cost to insurance. I was not happy with the lack of customer service. My appointment was for 12 noon. At 1130 I called to make sure the technician was coming, and after 25 minutes I hung up. No-one picked up the phone. Thats HORRIBLE. I wouldn't have had to call if I had the technicians phone number, but I didnt have it. What if I had an emergency and my availability had changed? Either way, you PICK UP THE PHONE at the main custom service number The technician called me around 1215, and said he would be there if I was still available and said that he was running late. The entire time they couldn't call and update us or even give us an ETA as to when it would be in ("it'll get here when it gets here). It wasn't until I called in and demanded that they get me an eta that they got off their lazy butts and emailed the supplier, which is what they should have done to begin with the first time we asked for an eta. They finally say it's coming in, and schedule an appointment for Friday. A couple days later we get a text (not even a call) that our appt was cancelled with no explanation. After we called, we were told our windshield wasn't in yet and therefore they had to cancel. After calling yet again that Friday, they said our windshield DID in fact come in but refused to honor our original appointment or even get us in the next day to make up for the incredibly long wait. Absolute worst customer service. Then, they decide to spring it on us that on top of all of this, they could not come to my place of work to replace the windshield due to "needing to calibrate the sensors". Since they couldn't get us in Saturday, I had to take time off work to accommodate their piss poor scheduling. So I finally take it to this horrendous shop and then they email my husband (not even tell me in person) that they could not calibrate the sensors on a 2020 vehicle. So why did I have to take it to the shop? Because they are morons who lack any ability to communicate with their customers. More time out of my schedule to take it to the dealership to get recalibrated. At this rate, if Safelite was the only place in the country that could replace my glass, I would rather sell my car as-is, eat the loss, and buy a brand new car. Just wanted to provide a PSA about avoiding Safelite like the plague for windshield repairs and replacements. My 7 month story.....(I hope you packed a lunch; we are going for a ride.) In January, the wife's Atlas had a small rock hit the Windshield. The chip was the size of a BB, and the spider webbing was less than the size of a quarter. I called Safelite, and with my insurance company on the line, we agreed to do a repair because this was basically a brand new vehicle (1500 miles) and I didn't want to mess with my factory glass and seal. At the end of January, Safelite came out to my house to do the "repair" while I was away on business. The wife gives the tech the keys, and goes back inside the house. The guy does his work, and knocks on the door to give the keys back...he replaced the windshield with some cheap non-OEM glass. After probably a half dozen phone calls with Safelite and being told that insurance would have to approve the use of OEM glass (makes no sense as they were only supposed to do a repair) and no call backs after I gave the same explanation about how they screwed up. At least the car was driveable...but this cheap glass wasnt tinted like the OEM and was annoying to look through. Not happy, but busy with work, I give them calls and get the same song and dance from them. No call backs. Fast forward a few months...get a bill from Safelite for over $800 because insurance refused to pay (rightfully so...they only authorized a repair) and then a phone call from their collections department where they left me a nasty voicemail about non-payment. I call their collections department and the first thing I tell them is that they are not going to get a dime from me....and then explain the story for what feels like the 100th time. The person on the phone finally gets someone to actually look into the situation and I finally get a call back. They apologize and let me know that they are going to replace the non-OEM windshield with an OEM Windshield at no charge to me or my insurance (Yay!!! They finally did the right thing!). They say it will take a few days to source the new glass, so I schedule them to come to my house for the replacement. So the day comes for the replacement, and nobody gives me a call, so I have to call to find out that the glass wasnt in yet. I schedule another appointment for the next week. It is now June. Finally someone shows up at my house to do the repair while I'm home, and they go remove the non-OEM glass. Upon trying to install the new glass, it turns out they had glass for a different VW...way too small. (I'm beyond stupified...how the hell do you not measure BEFORE you remove the windshield!!!) So I have to call back and explain the situation. They order the glass, schedule the appoint for 2 weeks out, and I finally get the right windshield installed. Fast forward to yesterday, I get an e-mail from their billing department with a request to call. I give them a call and they start asking me a bunch of questions. I tell them to pause for a moment. I tell them that they need to look at the notes on the account, and they see the info. I tell them that they are no longer allowed to contact me anymore about this situation...it is over and done. I immediately called the advisor I worked with that was responsible for getting things straightened out after getting off the phone with their billing department, and told him to make sure that this gets sorted out on their end, keep me out of it, and they are never to contact me again. TLDR: Don't use Safelite for glass repairs. It is a poorly run company with horrible communications between departments and with their customers. read more

One star is awarded for the installers who came out 3 times with the wrong windshield each time. This was not their fault but the problem lies within management. Not only did they not get the VIN number of a 2021 BMW to make sure they secured the correct windshield replacement, they NEVER communicated with us about anything...difficulty securing the product, inability to keep us informed as to repair time except to send out an installer who was merely doing what he was told to do. I'm sure having a newer car presents problems, but seriously, keep the owner informed. Needless to say, I contacted the company and communicated that they could cancel our order. I scheduled for my front windshield to be replaced and they came out on a Friday and the tech advised that they brought the wrong windshield. I was rescheduled for the following Monday and to no avail they brought the wrong windshield again. I spoke with a manager Sam that day and he advised that they will be getting the correct windshield in and will let me know when this will occur. It has been three weeks and have heard nothing. I even contacted corporate and asked to speak with a supervisor and they advise that a supervisor will be give me a call within the next day or two. That was two weeks ago and no response. I've called several times after and had the representative email Sam as well as another supervisor at the Palm Harbor location and I still have not received any response whatsoever. It's a good thing my insurance company is very helpful and reliable because Safelite has really tested my patience! After having a mobile service on my brand new car done, it soon came to my attention that it was not done correctly as there was condensation on the inside of my windshield. I had another Safelite mobile technician then come out and tell me that I had to schedule and in-shop appt, meaning I wasted half a day waiting for them to arrive for service just to tell me this info. I then had an in-shop appt with technician Lester, who was very rude on the phone, told me there was nothing wrong with my windshield/provided no additional feedback, and hung up on me. I then spoke the manager in the shop telling him about my dissatisfaction with my service and he again repeated there was nothing they could do about the windshield. I pushed to have it redone or resealed and after showing him the proof that there was condensation he finally said okay we will replace it but threatened that if it happened again I would have to pay for it. After getting my vehicle home from the shop I noticed a white mark and small dent in the front left fender that had not been there prior to being in the shop. Although small and bound to happen over time, this is a brand new vehicle and you would think a shop would be more cautious with the vehicles they are working on.
