If I could have rated a 0 I would have. Paid $497 dollars to have a windshield replaced on June 9 here in Montgomery Alabama and 3 weeks later the whole car was Infested with mold not a drop of water in the car before this...now I got a pay 1000 Dollars for a detail..total cost $1497. Took it by Safelite shop the manager told me there is no way water can get to the headliner from the windshield. I would not recommend this place of business to anyone. I guess since it was raining that day the tech didn't want to do it yet we still let him borrow the garage..top it off they wont even pay to have my car detailed..Sad Business Bad Business .****Updated review with order # photos **** read more

I am very disappointed with Safelite. A rock hit my windshield causing a small hole and some cracks. I took my car to safelite for the repair. My insurance company paid the repair but the repair person said I needed new wipers which I don't know if I really needed them but said ok and paid for them myself. The next day the cracks and hole came back. I took my car back to safelite because I was told the repair was warrantied. The store told me they couldn't repair the windshield again. So what does the warranty cover? Also when I was checking before the repair I was told a new windshield was $200. Now the store says it will be $700. Pretty shady. Don't make the same mistake I did. read more

Gary did an outstanding job! Had a rock chip the windshield. Insurance recommended Safelite and I was actually able to make the appointment from the insurance web page. Gary explained that sometimes cracks can expand during the repair. It didn't. As a matter of fact, knowing where the chip had been I can't even see it now at all. I have had other chips repaired and you could still see just a little bit of them after the repair. Very pleased with this work. read more

Such a disappointment for such a high profile company. When I scheduled online, of course they had the windshield I needed. A couple of days later I had to reschedule because they couldn't get the windshield. Rescheduled, another week of waiting. 24 hours before the appointment I get a confirmation email notifying and reminding me to show up 15 minutes early. Fast forward to today's appointment, I show up, 15 minutes early and suddenly they can't find my appointment and when they did, you guessed it, still no windshield. Location claims that someone called to inform me but every call I received was in my contacts list and one was noted as verified spam/fraud. OK, so what if it was Safelite? I'll never know because even on those spam calls, you can leave a message and no message was left. Clear, consistent communication - F Ability to get the correct windshield inside of 15 days - F Owning their mistake-F I worked half a lifetime in customer service/transportation logistics and I can tell you rhat if that part exists anywhere in the world, it could absolutely, positively be at Safelite's door in less time than they spent deflecting the failure to follow through on my appointment. Scheduled appt to have my windshield replaced, was texted and emailed drop off instructions so I could drop it off before work. Absolute worst customer service I've ever experienced at any business, from the store manager, all the way up to the district manager. Thus, don't think that reaching out to upper management or even the franchise rep will have any positive repercussions. Save yourself the money and the trouble and just DON'T come here! This is not the Safelite that's advertised as America's favorite glass repair/replacement business, but a poorly ran shell of it. I honestly don't understand how they are still franchisees. Decent quality repair but the cleanup was trash. Glass everywhere in the car... front, back, truck ... everywhere ... from about a 4 inch hole in the rear windshield. I have more glass work but i will be finding someone else to do it. read more

While I was waiting for my windshield chip repair, a woman walked in. She complained that the windshield they replaced had lost its seal and was leaking water into her car. I wish I had seen the reviews before making my appointment. I had a dime-sized chip in my windshield... it's now a 1 foot long crack. The entire windshield has to be replaced on my brand new car!!! Then they quoted me $300 more for the repair than the Lexus dealer! I've had several chips replaced over the years in 2 previous cars... never had an issue. If you have a chip... just let it be. I can't give them a good rating because when my windshield needed to be replaced they could not do it. They said they don't have tools to replace the window. My son missed a day of work because of it. I complained to manager. His reply was the tool they needed was a health risk to their employees. I advised as big as safelite is they could not come up with a safe way to replace the windshield. Then I asked for corporate to call me. No one called. I had my windshield repaired with Safelite. The results were of of a much poorer quality than I expected based on the companies online photos of "after" which advertises their service. My original small ding with cracks was smaller than a quarter. Pictured is the result..sorry about the fingerprint. Customer service was polite and sufficient..but they explained customers just can't expect results like the company pictured online...they said it was similar to fast food burgers not looking like the TV ads...but in the end...having had this type of service done many times before...my windshield still has cracks and a small hole. read more

The technician Eric, fixed that crack & then went above & beyond when he found a chip that I hadn't saw. He fixed it right there. Not with ought showing me the work that needed to be done first. The manager is rude. They messed up my car and won't do the right thing and fix it. Such a fiasco and they don't stand by their work. Windshield was replaced 2 1/2 months ago. Technician broke the antennae to the remote starter even though it was pointed out before any work started. Contacted manager who sent me to dealership for a quote which I provided that day. He said two weeks someone would call to approve repair. Nope. Doesn't happen. I have repeatedly called and been told one thing and then another with the last being that the dealership has a credit card on file to bill the work to repair my starter and that dealer supposed to call me to schedule. No one at the dealership knows anything about it, particularly the body shop manager with whom Safelite allegedly made arrangements. Long story short, remote starter is still not fixed. Talking with yet another customer service rep who is "investigating" my request that they just cut the check to me so I can get my remote starter fixed since they clearly haven't made arrangements with the dealership. She keeps telling me the quote from the dealership is $100 less than it is then putting me on hold again for more investigation. Refuse to issue a check to me for repairs but "called" the dealership who, guess what, doesn't know anything about the work! Finally successful in getting bumped to a supervisor who promised a check to be overnighted to me...the same check every customer service rep said was impossible to send. We'll see if the check arrives as promised but no more Safelite for me. read more
