Second time in a year that our windshield cracked from a rock bouncing off the highway. Which means it's our second visit here this year. The first visit went very well and we had no issues. The second visit however not so much. When the vehicle was ready for pickup, I felt rushed.... no paper receipt and was told I'd have it emailed to me later that day (it was already 4pm). On the passenger side it looked as though that had vacuumed which I thought was great. But on the driver side, there was still dirt (perhaps from me from earlier) but I was thinking why vacuum one side and not the other. I got home and reached into the backseat only to find small pieces of glass on the floor and two pieces on the backseat. Upon further inspection, I found a few pieces in the passenger seat also. Quite possibly the worst experience of any repair shop I have been to. I guess this is to be expected from a national company that has settled fraud lawsuits and sexual harassment complaints. Just google Safelite lawsuits. Know your rights. Your insurance company may steer you towards Safelite because of a business agreement, but you have the right to choose other shops. Patronize smaller, more reputable shops. My insurance company scheduled a windshield replacement at the Hull st Safelite for noon on 2/18. It was scheduled for a replacement while I wait. Upon arrival, I was told by the front desk that a Tesla windshield replacement would take 4-5 hours. I choose to reschedule (because I didn't want to wait in the lobby 4 hours) for the next day to drop off the car and come back for pickup. I dropped my car off around 8:15 am. Around 4:30 pm, I had not heard anything from safelite so I tried to call the location. Multiple attempts to reach the shop directly were all transferred to a national call center and I could never reach the technician directly. One call center person said they talked to the technician and the windshield had been replaced and they were still working on the calibration. I went to the station and arrived shortly after 5 p.m. When I asked to pick up my car there was a lot of confusion. They didn't know where my key was. They attempted to give me someone else's car. And they were not even sure which car was mine. Eventually, they came to me and said the service wasn't completed and I would have to reschedule. They would not acknowledge that they made a mistake and lost track of my repair. In 9 hours, my car had not moved from where I parked it. In addition, the staff was dismissive and quite rude. Car was promised by 5pm if I dropped it off by 9:30am. The car wasn't ready until almost 7pm. Apparently the drop-offs are saved for last, so it wasn't even touched until after 6pm. Lesson learned: if I need a window replacement, MAKE AN APPOINTMENT. Those get done first. I'm sure by end of day, the workers are tired and just want to finish quickly, too. I might as well have dropped the car off after work and not bothered family members for rides, etc. read more

Im a single mom and my car isn't always the cleanest but he made sure each of my windows was spotless and nothing was left behind! After many rescheduled visits due to an unavailable part, safelite came out to install my rear glass. When the two gentlemen arrived they were quick to get started. They busting out my cracked window with a HAMMER?! Glass was left in my business parking lot and in the rear of my vehicle. I was told they had the wrong glass. They taped up my window horrendously. Rescheduled in person to speed up the wait. I thought it was weird the day before my install date I had not received a call or text. Being that I had taken time off to take my car in, I wanted to make sure the window was in. After being on hold for 32 minutes I was then told the window was not in and needed to be rescheduled. After over a month the window was finally installed today. Tape was left all over my vehicle and is baked onto the paint from the sun. read more

When I booked an appointment for a windshield replacement, I asked for OEM glass, which they said they could do and they would just need to order it. They booked an appointment for me for the next week so the glass would have arrived. The day before my appointment, I received a call from Safelite with a few additional questions about my car, and the person on the phone told me that my glass was supposed to arrive the same day as my afternoon appointment. He assured me that if the glass had not arrived by then, he would call me to let me know and reschedule. The day of my appointment, no one called me, so I assumed they had received the glass on time. I arrived for my appointment, checked in and gave them my keys - then waited over 30 minutes before someone came out to tell me that they had actually NOT received my glass yet so they had to reschedule. Instead of apologizing or trying to make this right, all the employees I talked to kept telling me how it wasn't their fault. I knew each individual person there didn't cause this to happen, but there was absolutely no level of customer service. I rescheduled my appointment, and on that day I took in my car and dropped it off. At the end of the day, they called me to say my car is ready, but that after they had installed my windshield they noticed a big scratch on it. The Safelite employee on the phone literally said to me "well at least I'm telling you the scratch because I could have just not told you". Absolutely no apology or taking any responsibility, again just saying how it wasn't their fault. Terrible customer service. I had nothing but great experiences with Safelite. They gave me timely updates on my vehicle glass replacement process. They were finished a bit sooner than they said and they left my vehicle spotless, reinstalling all decals and sensors except my EZpass and my dashcam, but they provided new double sided tape and all I had was to peel and stick. windshield replacement (mobile) was given time frame for arrival 8am - 12pm... at 11:25 tech had not arrived....called shop and was told that the tech tried to reach me for ETA. Because Iwas not able to take the call, the tech skipped me and went to her next job...i was not notified...she didnt leave a vm or send a txt...i simply got left high and dry without notification....called the shop to inquire what was going on, guy that answered phone said she had tried to reach me and couldnt (lousy attempts!!) so she had moved to her next appt.. and that my appt was now in the afternoon which was not convenient so had to rearrange my appts for another day,,,also not convenient!! Safelite said this policy was in an email that they sent me..I looked at every email received from them regarding the appt, there was NOTHING in any of them indication this is how they operate....when tech arrived, I questioned her about this issue...all I got was excuses... she also did not review, with me, the service performed...she simply advised that my windshield had been installed, jeep test driven and she left...the work looks good but again, she was supposed to review with me and she did not! Avoid this shop at all cost. I had a front windshield replaced yesterday with no issues. I paid the amount I was told was needed and went home. Hours later I received an extra charge. I drove up to the store and spoke with the manager. They had to rekey my bill and "forgot" to put the discount amount on it. The manager said they would have this taken care of and apologized many times. Today I just received ANOTHER charge, for the full amount without the discount. Went online for a quote for a windshield replacement. Entered my VIN, and got an emailed quote for $450. At the same time requested a repair as well, for the same vehicle in the event it could be fixed. Sent pics, etc. Repair tech came out, was pleasant but said due to star crack location I would need replacement. Not unexpected. I asked about the price, because I know the moldings around the window can break. A few hours later, got an email and the quote went to $1100, as the moldings cost approximately $400. Still, a fair price if the moldings break. Two days later, get another quote for over $2000, because they would need to replace the moldings. Sorry...I'm not a sucker. No thanks. read more

My insurance company set me up with Safelite when my windshield cracked. What a nightmare. The first three times they came out. The glass was damaged or broken. I had taken time from work on all three occasions. On the fourth attempt the glass had a scratch on it, but I finally excepted it despite the poor attitude from the technician. Scheduled a windshield replacement. Time-in to time-out was good and reasonable. We did drop off and they were really good with text communication letting us know when work began and when it was ready. Picked up the car and upon initial inspection, we noticed there was excessive adhesive on the A-pillar where you can see globs of glue exposed. The fit and finish of the new windshield and the re-installment of the trim pieces were poorly done. On top of that, a piece of trim broke off. They also didn't clean up after themselves leaving debris from the job scattered on the car floor. I guess you get what you paid for, but being a mid-tier retailer, we expected more quality than what we got. Lessoned learned, we won't be going back. read more

I've used Safelite years before, but this was the first ever taking my car to them. If it wasn't for the bad weather they were scheduled to come out to me. Anyway, I had to reschedule and it was so easy to do no problems. Going in the guy who helped me was very professional and friendly. The wait wasn't long at all. I was sure my windshield needed to be replaced but I was so wrong. He did a great job. I can barely see the chip in the glass. Before taking my car in it looked so much worse. DO NOT GO HERE. I showed up on time for my appointment, waited around for 2 hours while my car sat there untouched, asked about status and I was told to come back tomorrow. Dropped the car off next morning, called at 3 for an update, told to pick it up at 5, came at 5 and nothing had been done to the car (picture attached for proof). No apologies from them, just a rude receptionist who said "I don't know what to tell you" and other staff who didn't care. I had my windshield replaced by these folks in June 2022. All went well. When I again had to have the windshield replaced, there was no question, go back to Safelite. This time it didn't go so well. After the repair, while driving home, I knew my car wasn't right. I immediately called to schedule another calibration as safety alerts were going off for no reason. Customer Service was happy to schedule a warranty repair but the customer service wanted me to wait 2 weeks. I told them it was unacceptable as I didn't feel safe driving my car. After waiting on hold while they called the shop, I was told I could come in that Friday. Great, that works. When I arrived, they said it would be a while, but couldn't tell me how long. Honestly, it wasn't that long. That's when the service got ugly. The person who called me up was very condescending and talked to me like I didn't know anything about my car. I was a Transit Manager with a fleet of 30 multiple size vehicles for 30 years. I work with our mechanic on repairs for all our personal vehicles. He told me I needed to hit the main button in order for the safety features to work. I was so floored by the way he spoke to me, that I just said ok and walked out. While driving home, the car still wasn't right. Lane Departure Alerts were coming on when lane assist was not on. Steering required alerts would pop up when I wasn't in cruise control and I was steering the car. I was beginning to think it was just me, but then my husband drove my car to work while his was being inspected. He came home and said "man, they really messed up your car!" Thank you! So I figured I would schedule another appointment but at a different location. Before I did, I got the manual out. Turns out, they turned on RMD (that I hadn't had on since the second day I owned the car - over two years ago). Turned that button off and the car was functioning as it had for the last two years. This could probably have been determined sooner if their staff would communicate. Ask questions. Anyway, problem solved, until the first time I drove at night. On a busy road, cars were flashing their lights at me. Finally at a stop light, the car next to me told me my lights weren't on. Why were my lights not on, I leave them in auto mode. I had to pull over just to figure out how to turn them on because I leave them in auto mode. So apparently, along with turning and leaving on a feature that was not on when the car was taken in, they turned off the lights. Summary, between the lack of respect from the staff and the lack of attention to detail - returning my car to the state it was in when it arrived, I would not use this shop again. May use Safelite and see if another location can provide better customer service. read more

Never again. I dropped my vehicle off for a drop and go appointment at 7:30am for windshield replacement and was told that it would be complete before COB. No one contacted me to tell me anything about my car. I used the text chat to request an update and was given several different numbers to call. I called each number and got the runaround. I even tried the online chat and got the runaround there. If my vehicle couldn't be serviced today that's understandable but not receiving any updates is unacceptable. The call center workers I spoke with weren't able to reach anyone at this location either. I can't speak to the value of the service provided because I'm not even sure my car has been serviced at this point. This is ridiculous. Update: I just received a call from someone at the store saying that they didn't see my keys in the drop box at 8AM when they checked it... I dropped the keys and car off at 7:30AM. The woman claims they only knew my car was there after they received word from customer care that I was looking for an update on my vehicle. How they didn't notice my car parked in the front of the store is beyond me. Not only that but the way my keys magically appeared after they were informed by customer care that I was looking for an update is crazy. Nothing about this makes sense. The woman I spoke with at the store was rude and couldn't answer my questions without sounding agitated as if she was the one whose car was held with no communication. I'm blown away that this store would have customers set appointments and disregard them completely. One would think that staff would contact a customer if they had an appointment scheduled and couldn't locate the keys. Especially if the vehicle was present. read more

These guys are alright. Terrance and crew were quick to figure out how to get a windshield before a non-optional road trip, amid COVID, a recent thunderstorm that did lots of damage all over the state and whatever else. Particularly so after the original glass installation a few days before was aborted due to a broken-on-arrival piece of new glass (no one's fault, just thermodynamics) and another windshield had to be magic-sanded into existence. Terrance was even able to work in a post-hoc insurance claim, taking my out-of-pocket cost effectively to zero. The only sucky part was finally figuring out the source of another noise, which turns out to be the sun-bleached and warped plastic cowl piece that clearly needs to be replaced. My advice is to call the shop locally or stop in. If you use the website or call the 800 number you're going to get a much more stiff-armed, corporate f-u experience. It's much better to deal with people live and in-person in the meatspace. Good game, gents. Top marks. read more

I dropped my vehicle off to be repaired, just to be called 15 minutes later because the glass had not been delivered. Tried contacting customer support and were treated like complete trash. They came to my home and kicked the windshield out from the inside, this was the 5th time they were going to replace the leaking glass. all the whole causing green mold and rust in the floor board actually holes rusted through completely in spots and the edges. Then refused to replace it 2 more times, Gave excuses repeatedly ! The reginal manager will not return messages and customer service will not return my calls. Excuses Excuses Excuses !!! Safelite scheduled the repair 3 different times. I had to take off of work to meet them. The first time the glass was broken, the second time the tech called out that day finally after many calls to the unresponsive customer service team I was connected to the office of the CEO. The third time was also cancelled due to availability of the glass. Finally On the forth appointment they put a new windshield in without concern but the total lack of communication and the respect for the customers time and money(lost due to missing work) is not worth the effort.
