Rob's Glass Works - My 97 Toyota windshield, freshly replaced, that Safelite wouldn't touch.

I thought "Great, they replaced my windshield last time, this time should be no problem". The day of the appointment came and in ten minutes the Safelite guy tells me that he sees rust after removing the molding and that he can't replace my windshield or he will be fired. He leaves, having done nothing and I'm left with a car that can't pass inspection. I call my agent, pretty furious, and he gives me Rob's number since he uses Rob personally for his glass needs. I call Rob, and within minutes have a next day appointment and assurance that as long as the metal isn't rusted through, he should have no problem replacing my windshield. I had to work the next day so we work out a plan on where I'll put the deductible check in the car, and when I get home that evening, the windshield is replaced and an invoice is in the seat. I won't use those national chains again. I learned through my local agent that insurance companies get paid money by national chains to be the default providers for claims. In Virginia, I get to chose who does the repairs on my car, so why wouldn't I want the money to go to a local business? The owner answered the phone, got the work done, and I couldn't be more pleased. I'll post the picture of the work done on my 97 Toyota Corolla beater I drive to and from work.

I purchased a warranty through my dealership and after filing the claim I was contacted by Certified Glass the same day. I was scheduled for my windshield replacement 2 days later and everything was done same day. All the staff I encountered were polite and answered all my questions. They even assured me they'd keep a copy of my replacement to keep me in good standing with the my warranty coverage; absolutely recommend them!

So, while doing my research I stumbled upon Certified Glass and seeing many consistent good reviews, I decided I'd give them a try. They too were in network for me (Geico, but check with yours of course), so is thought I'd rather pay the stupid deductible and receive good service. They are located in a building somewhat attached to McGeorge Toyota. So, if you're looking on maps and see that and are confused that's why. The entrance is through the little garage bay on the left. It's a small office with two or three staff inside, where you truly just go to drop your keys, make your payment, and go. The ladies inside working were friendly, and actually from the time of the initial phone call. What really wins me over is the fact that they offer a rental car free of charge while they do the windshield replacement. This was the first time I had to get a recalibration on my windshield too, so I guess it takes a bit longer. I was so happy to get that little car and still be able to go to work and not have to use any PTO to handle my business. I dropped off early when they first opened and had until like 5pm or so to have the car returned same day. Not a bad deal for the deductible that I would've paid anywhere and not gotten great service or a rental. I highly recommend Certified Auto Glass and have found my new spot for all my windshield needs.
