We took our 2022 Toyota Rav 4 in to the Madison Alabama Safelite Saturday February 21, 2026. It was for a no cost to us Insurance Claim. It was for two small chips on the windshield that had tiny cracks starting. They were both less than 1/8 of an inch. When the technician brought the car back to us he was very nervous. He said he wasn't happy with the outcome of his work. One of the chips was now cracked about 1.5 inches and the other was cracked about 2.5 inches. He also tried to fix a surface chip and it was now cracked about 3.5 inches. He said he stopped after they started cracking. Why try it 3 times then? Next he said do you want to come inside and schedule a windshield replacement? We contacted our insurance about this and they said Safelite said they only tried to repair 2 places not 3. Now we have to pay to get a new windshield and it definitely will not be with Safelite. They took an easy fix and destroyed our windshield. I would not recommend the Madison Alabama Safelite. My wife called the Madison Safelite this morning and spoke to the manager. The manager was not helpful and was rude. They still denied trying to fix the third place and causing a large crack where there was just a chip! Also the technician left black goo on the inside of the windshield where he cracked the windshield. Sorry the photos are not clear but you can see the cracks. read more

Another service at our house from Billy at Safelite today. Despite having to cover for someone who called in at the last minute, he was still polite and communicative.im grateful my husband's windshield ding was able to be repaired. Billy was kind and I signed a waiver about potential windshield damage which was a first for me but he assured me it's only happened to him once. He worked quickly and was done in under an hour despite our crazy dog barking at him for the entire first 10 minutes nonstop. Horrible service, from the beginning to a never-ending tale of excuses and frustration. They fat-fingered my phone number, so they couldn't call me when they didn't have the glass. I show up at the appropriate time, only to get excuses. They push my service for a week, then call me and tell me the glass is still not in. A week later, they called me to tell me the glass was finally in, but the required molding was not ordered. When I ask why they can't see items in a supply system, ETAs, and associated products with the items, they blame everything on the "system." Save yourself a massive amount of headache and delay...take your business to someone who deserves it and will treat you like a customer. read more

I'll start off by saying I have a big rig, not a car. So my insurance company made the appointment for me, and they were prompt with getting in touch with me and setting up the appointment. They came on time, called prior to showing up, which is great. Then they brought the wrong windshield. Ok, fine. They found one that fits in Jacksonville. So set up the appointment for a few days later. Showed up, and were supposed to be 2 people since the windshield is much larger and higher to climb up to put it in. Well, one guy showed up. Fine, we will work with him then. Started looking at the windshield, and saw tiny nicks around on top part of windshield. We thought it would be ok since that part was seated inside the seal. It wasnt exposed and no spider runs coming from it. Finally got the window seated in after a bit, with the help of my husband. (He didnt mind helping, so it's not a big deal) However, on our first trip out, the window was streaming water down during a heavy thunderstorm on the inside. Papers got wet, not cool. Communication and timeliness was great with them. So now I have to get someone to come out again and seal it better. I have a lifetime warranty on the windshield regarding the seal they said, but I cant just pull into any Safelite store with a truck and trailer. I'm under the impression employees need better training putting in glass in trucks. And always send 2 people. read more

I only checked on the windshield because I was hearing a whistling noise come from the right side of my windshield. Not Good, cannot recommend. Needed a cracked windshield replaced for a Nissan Versa Note. Had mobile service from Madison location. Work was done quickly and was a mess. Tech left long-accumulated dirt on the surface of vehicle in install area, did not prep properly. Left debris, and rubber and glass bits inside car and on hood/roof. After install the cowl corners would not snap in place. Tech says "they're like that". I pointed out that the post sections next to the windshield were separated from the front section of the car, Tech says "they were like that"...no, they were not. Tech installed a windshield that did not fit the car. Not even the right part. Cowl and corners no longer fit. We will likely have leaks because parts of the body were forced apart. We have had to wait for weeks for Safelite to get replacement cowling and corners. Car goes in tomorrow for second try - will see if they get this right. They will be on the hook for water damage as well. read more

Had an appointment for a Saturday at 2pm. Arrived 30 minutes early to discover the ONE technician working on a Saturday was at lunch and had a car in front of me. Okay, I arrived early so I understand I was early. While waiting another customer came back and had an issue with prior service. In addition, a car being worked on was having challenges with getting the windshield properly installed. The technician looked In talking with the receptionist, she stated it would be a lengthy delay in getting my vehicle serviced so I decided to cancel. I don't want to have any issues like other customers, especially since I'm from out of town. My advice to the owners: Have more technicians working so you can keep up with the customers appointment time. It is not the customers fault you get backed up so they shouldn't have to wait. Have your technicians professionally dressed and presentable. The gentleman working this day looked homeless and unkempt. I'm not trusting my 65k vehicle with him. While visiting relatives in AL, I met up with an Alabama mower along the median south of Huntsville and...BAM....took out the windshield of my Yukon. Called Safelite that same afternoon about 4:15 PM and they were at my family's home at 8:30 the next morning! Professional installation job, warranty, reasonable price....and he was done before 9:30. Wow! These guys really know what they're doing and do it right! Plus, they're friendly and explain what's going on and how to let things cure before you wash or use the car. I made my appointment for a Wednesday, when I had access to a place for the tech to work, but while at work the Thursday before, the windshield cracked even more, and the weather forecast changed to rain on Wednesday, so I made a trip to discuss an earlier appointment. They offered an appointment Saturday morning at 10:00. My car was brought in promptly on time, 1.5 hours later, they had earned a happy customer and my Subaru was as good as new. The manager and the tech working my car were uber professional and helpful, but the other tech, was texting every time the manager wasn't present. My overall rating of 3 stars is stretching it a bit. From a service perspective I am pleased, from a cosmetic perspective I was expecting better results. My technician was on time and committed to getting the job done even though it was a damp and rainy day. Unfortunately the affected vehicle was a recreational vehicle and I could not provide him any cover for him to do his work. We managed to sneak in a piece of the front end of the vehicle in the garage and it gave him some cover to do the magic they do. I am most happy with his personal efforts, however I am very disappointed with the results... I base my opinion on at least 7 - 8 prior repairs in my lifetime on a variety of vehicles in which the damage was both larger and smaller in size. In all of my prior repairs the spider lines disappeared and only a slight smudge could be seen on the windshield where the epoxy had been injected. The day after the home repair, I went to the actual shop and another very friendly and what appeared to technically smart technician tried to explain why the epoxy could not get in between the cracks... In my opinion and with all due respect to both techs, I think it was a bunch of hog wash. This is 2017 and great strides have occurred in epoxy viscosity and repair techniques. I have done some research on the internet and have found that there are other techniques that perhaps could be employed to improve the cosmetic results like drilling relief holes in the crack and attempting to reseal... I don't know what the viability of those are, but the videos on the internet indicated very promising results. I fully realize that they could never make it perfect, but I still believe the repair could have yielded a better cosmetic outcome. I am assured though that from a functional perspective it is repaired. Time will tell... In no way shape or form am I besmirching the technicians, just the outcome.
