Safelite does not allow customers to directly call the shop. It's great to be able to schedule online, but sometimes you have a simple pragmatic question that need to be answered by the shop. I needed to know if I could drop off my car the afternoon before early morning service. Would it be secured inside the shop overnight? The chat agent told me I needed to "stop by the shop and ask." They have a receptionist answering someone's calls in the lobby. Evidently not customers. read more

Kennewick, WA shop on Clearwater Ave: Asked for my back passenger window glass to be replaced and was told the window motor was broken, needing more work and parts (which would have doubled the estimated cost of the repair). We had never had any troubles with the window function prior to taking it into the shop. They told me I'd get a call with a new quote for the additional part and labor and was ghosted. I couldn't get through to the local shop because corporate diverts real called. All in all, it didn't feel like an honest assessment by the technician to me, so I got a second opinion. The second company found there to be nothing wrong with the motor other than noticing it had been messed with by someone else. Cost us to get it re-aligned after Safelite technician messed with it, but the motor didn't need to be replaced (which is also frustrating since it was caused by Safelite but I have no way to prove it). I don't like dishonesty. I will never recommend this Safelite shop to anyone. read more

Absolutely wonderful experience!! In this super cold ice and snow we woke up to a cracked windshield in one of our taxis. Wonderful, easy to navigate app gave me an instant quote; available date/time; paid by debit & 2 days later we have a new windshield!! App notified us who our rep would be by photo intro & he came right to our driveway with text messages with "real time" map letting me know his location. Do NOT waste your time with Satellite!!! I went through my insurance, Progressive, to have my windshield changed through Safelite. The first appointment they put the wrong windshield in my 2023 Hyundai. They set another appointment 2 weeks out to replace the windshield. I drove 2 hours from my home to the appointment and they didn't have the new windshield. They never called me to tell me they didn't have the parts. I scheduled another shop to replace the windshield. The second shop went in to replace the windshield and showed me that Safelite had broken my camera in the windshield. This meant that none of the sensors would work and the camera had to be replaced. Satellite refused to acknowledge that they broke the camera. They said they would replace the camera if I went back to them. I refused to go back to them after the crappy service. Now, I have to open a new claim to have the camera replaced. That means another deductible! They are irresponsible, do not care about their work or customers. Do NOT go here!!! read more

I had my windshield fix. Well first they cut something that the window sits on. They fix that and got me a rental car. Then they took some of keys of my key ring. I didn't realize that till I got home almost 2 hours away. I called them the store mgr. said they would mail them to me. When the envelope arrived it was empty. I called the store they were so rude. They use aftermarket windshields that can not be calibrated. Had to take car back to dealer and they couldn't guarantee that they could calibrate it either. I would have to pay for tech service even if calibration was unsuccessful read more

I had a tiny chip in my car window and wanted to get it fixed before it grew into a crack. Safelite came out and "fixed" it. The next day that tiny chip was a 1" splintered crack. I called them up and they said there was nothing they can do because there is no guarantee chips can be repaired properly. No one told me that! I was told I now have to replace the entire window. I would have been much better off by not letting safelite do the job. I'm furious! Did you know there is no guarantee safelite can repair a chip? The ads make them sound like it's an easy fix to small chips. It is not! And since there's no guarantee, you might end paying a lot more with their service! read more

While weekending in Portland, some asswipe broke my driver-side window on my BRAND NEW car. Had to drive all the way home in the freezing cold with the window taped up with garbage bags, which made for a very cold and noisey trip. Apparently, nobody in Portland can replace a window on a Sunday. Safelite had my window in stock, was able to get me in on a Monday (the next day after it happened), and had a decent little waiting room for me to wait for the couple of hours it took for them to do the replacement. Not that I really cared how much it cost, I thought it was a tad steep at around $300-$360 (can't remember exactly), hence the 1 star deduction. However, they do warranty their work, which is good for something. They carefully removed all the broken glass from the door panel and replaced the window without a problem. My window works great and matches color-wise. Too bad I have to still look at the damaged paint and interior...you just cant keep anything nice these days because other people don't give a hoot how hard you work to keep your stuff nice. I was refered to these people by my friend and I am SOOOO glad I listened. I got a rock in my windshield, on my way to work, that caused about a dime size hole. I freaked out as the very next day I had to work down in Hermiston (about 45 minutes of freeway driving). I called as soon as I got home and asked when they could get me in. She said to head on over and they would get me in immediately! So, I drove over and was gone again within about 30 minutes! I had never had a windshield worked on before and had a lot of "dumb" questions. Ted was INCREDIBLY helpful and understanding. He was professional, friendly, fast and overall great with customer service. The only complaint I would have is do NOT call the listed phone number for them. This place is great! I was on a road trip back home when I got hit by a rock and it chipped my windshield and left a pretty big mark bigger than the size of a quarter. I was shopping around different places to get it repaired and stumbled upon Safelite. I had called my insurance company beforehand and was informed about the costs of fixing/replacing and how I would have to pay a deductible. When I came to Safelite, Jeslaine at the front desk actually told me that there would be no deductible for the small repair. She even helped call the insurance company to clear things up for me and start the insurance claim for me! Safelite directly billed the insurance company with no cost to me. I was so impressed with this level of customer service and the professionalism. I came in on a Monday afternoon and Safelite was able to repair my windshield immediately and I was in/out within an hour! The repair didn't completely get rid of the chip but definitely made it at least 90% better with only a small mark left on the windshield. I was okay with that given that the technician had told me beforehand and my chip was pretty significant to begin with. Also of note, their waiting room has free snacks and coffee/drinks while you wait. Overall Safelite exceeded my expectations and I will bring my vehicle back here next time (hopefully not too soon). read more

We had our windshield replaced on July 21, 2016 on a black Dodge Grand Caravan. The technican could not have been any better. The windshield was cracked, bad, and the rubber around it was partially off, which happened to be part of the service putting a new windshield in. We also had a strip of rubber that had come off along the passager side/top of car. I mentioned it to him and he said he'd take care of it with some kind of glue. When he left he gave me a can of windshield cleaner and mentioned something about vacuuming the car. I didn't understand what he meant. Later that day, I had an errand to run and when I got in the car, the inside of the car was vacuumed, all windows were clean and he had also cleaned the dashboard. He told me he'd only been doing this job for 6 months. He was amazing, going above and beyond to make this customer extremely happy. When I called to get a quote, I asked if there were any discounts? The gentleman helping me, on the phone, asked me to hold. When he got back on the phone, he had given me a $50 credit. This review is for the manager. I had a bad experience with the technician. The technician repairing a chip in my windshield damaged the roof of my car and did not complete the service or notify me. When I came out at saw it, I immediately called Safelite and was transferred to the local manager, Aaron. He came to workplace right away to inspect my vehicle. He was apologetic and reinforced this was not the level of service I should expect. He wanted to make it right and facilitated the repair of my vehicle. He didn't make me go through a bunch of hoops. Sometime a bad employee (or bad situation) can tank a company's reputation, but Aaron did a fantastic job as the manager in treating me with respect and earning back my business. read more

My Insurance company recommends this place to replace my broken windshield. First of all the receptionist calls my phone and asks for my husband. I told her this is not his phone and you're calling about my car and an appointment I made. She tells me that she needs to talk to my husband because his name is on the policy for the insurance. Explain to her that now she doesn't have to talk to my husband because I'm also on the insurance policy and I made the appointment so she says fine just wanna make sure that you're coming to the appointment tomorrow I said yes I am thank you goodbye arrive today for the appointment at 1 o'clock I get there about 1230 when I go inside the same person Debbie is there she says oh are you Dustin? I said no I already told you yesterday that my name is Christina and then I will be bringing the car in she says well Dustin is the name on the insurance policy so I try to give her my keys she doesn't want my keys she tells me to wait till the technician gets back from lunch at 1 o'clock and give him the keys. Then at 12:50 she leaves for lunch. Then at 1 pm a guy comes in the door and says Dustan? I said NO my name is Christina. He says well the paperwork says Dustan. I try and explain to this guy that I already went through this about the name with Debbie twice NOW. He proceeds to tell me that he has to do an inspection on my vehicle before he can do the work. I said OK. Then he proceeds to tell me that they have the wrong windshield. The one they have will fit but it has a rain detector in it as mine doesn't. I asked him how can that be I set this appointment up over a week ago and Debbie told me she needed my VIN number to make sure she got the right windshield. I said fine just put it in and fix my car. Then the tech proceeds to tell me he thinks I have a attitude and tells me to come back inside to talk to the manager. The manager seemed like he didn't understand why I was being brought back inside. I ultimately got my windshield replaced. But I called my Insurance company USAA who we have had a policy with for 54 years and told them how they had treated me, Who in turn called Safelight auto glass to have me file a complaint. Just a little common courtesy would have been nice after telling them several times my name. My name is also on the auto policy!! read more

A few months ago the side mirror on my car was hit by another car. I had it replaced by another auto glass place where I live (Portland). Apparently, when they "fixed" the mirror they merely glued the new mirror onto the old broken mirror. Long story short I'm driving on the freeway and the mirror begins to slip off. I had to stay in Kennewick overnight and I stopped by Safelite to see if they could fix it. They were able to remove the mirror, remove the broken glass from the old mirror, including the glass that had stuck to the new mirror, and they were able to save the existing mirror. They did this in less than thirty minutes and didn't charge me for their time. I really appreciate this kind of service! It's a rare occurrence these days. read more

They have an exceptional warranty and really great customer service. Three years after my windshield was replaced, a molding flew off of my Mini Cooper, in a windstorm.
