I drive 50k miles a year in my company car (both business and personal). It goes through steel mills, stone and sand quarries, paper mills, saw mills and a wide variety of other heavy industry. Needless to say, a cracked windshield is inevitable. Unfortunately, this car had less than 5k miles on the odometer. I tried using my fleet card app to set my appointment but it only gave me the option of having them come to my office. That wasn't going to work for me because needed to be at an appointment by 11:00 AM. I managed to get an appointment at 8:00 AM the next morning. Typically it takes about three hours to change a windshield on a new car as it needs to be calibrated because of camera and sensors. Fortunately, mine was easily calibrated and I was out of there in an hour and a half. The bill was a little over $1000 which surprised me but a good amount of that is for labor. read more

I done had two windshields replaced from safelite. 1st windshield after a few months started to have a stress Crack. They replaced it. Then a few months later I now got another stress Crack which they said they could not replace the windshield under warranty. Nothing did not hit my car. Both cracks start from outer edge of windshield. I believe they are using cheap windshields. I will look into using another company. ​ read more

First off they came to my job and the guy who came didn't know what he was doing and messed up putting the glass in so I had to get it redone and there was no calibration. I noticed after getting it done there was a wind noise that was never there before. when I took it to safelite to get another glass they rode with me and said that wind noise was normal. however it was not and I went through my insurance and my dealership to determine the noise wasn't normal. I had another windshield company come put it in and discovered today that they used the wrong glass and didn't even have the bottom of the windshield glued down. safelite is a POS. Excellent customer service and very knowledgeable staff who understand all the complicated computer technology connected to the windshield in the newer nicer cars. Nowadays, you can't trust a windshield replacement to just any local glass shop. They've got to know how to recalibrate the windshield. I was very impressed with the service here! read more

I live out of state, but had my windshield cracked while I was down in Florence at work. Given that I only had a few days, and that I needed a car to get around, having a sizable line running from one side of my windshield to the other wasn't exactly the best situation to be in. Both the woman on the phone at their shop and the techs I dealt with in the field were extremely nice folks, and I was very pleasantly surprised that they were able to get my windshield fixed in less than 24 hours - after initially being told by my insurance that it would likely take 3-5 days to get the glass since the car was brand new. While I would've liked to have never found out how good the service with this Safelife (branch? franchisee?) is, everyone I dealt with were all professional, courteous, and punctual. You can't really ask for more, especially with an auto repair shop. read more

This company has gone downhill since Safelite bought out Turner. Twice they have cancelled my appointment. Once because they were short handed and today because the tech can't park his van in my garage with my car. (Raining). I have a covered area as required when the appointment was scheduled. I had a windshield replaced while my truck was in shop being painted. The safe lite man came out and cut my security system wires out. He just threw the monitor and wires in my truck. The office agreed to pay for this $4000 system I agreed on $2000 to have it fixed they mailed my $200 in gift cards. This is the worse business I have ever used. This was not paid for a $4000 system was not paid for I was lied to I was told you would pay for half and did not do so I would never recommend your business again and I have made complaint with my insurance company read more

Was suppose to have my windshield replaced in my truck, you sent a tech out to my house. When scheduling the appointment I was asked if I had a garage or car port so your tech wouldn't have to work in the rain if it was raining. When he showed up he said that it would have to be closed in. By definition a carport is an open sided covering for vehicles. So why even make that an option? Plus, it wasn't even raining when the guy showed up. So why send him out if he isn't going to install anything, or is he that much of a wuss that he has to be completely shielded from all outside weather, including wind and sunshine? Will do what I have to avoid this place for my glass replacement. Also going to make sure I hit up one more place to write my wonderful review. Oh and 45 mins isn't 20, so don't tell me 20 minutes when it's going to take longer, I'm sure you have a GPS that told you how long the drive was. Also, don't tell me where you are and take twice as long to get from there to where I am, I know how long most drives take, stopping off at the store is unacceptable when I'm waiting for you to show up. Apparently I have to give a star in order for this to go through, if I didn't have to I wouldn't. Because the system made me, I have to give you one at the very least. read more

I give "0" stars, but the review process MADE me have to check at least one star, and will never use Safelite again!!! I unfortunately had a run in with a wild turkey and my windshield was completely shattered and pushed in on the DRIVER's SIDE of my vehicle. Got the suv home and filed claim with my insurance company that night, Monday, they told me to call who I wanted to have the windshield repaired. Unfortunately the glass company that I had used for over 25 years, with excellent service and customer service, had sold out and was no longer in business. So I decided to try Safelite had seen so many commercials about how service oriented they were. Started off ok, the representative I talked with the next morning was pleasant and helpful. Was not happy that it was going to be two more days before they could get out to repair it but I scheduled the appointment for Thursday. To start, my appointment was in a 4 hour window, 8am - 12pm, their ads make it sound they can pinpoint a time and be there at that time, fail to say they will call you when they are on the way and give you the exact time. Wife sat at home waiting for them to show. 12pm came and no windshield repair yet. Neighbor calls my wife, and says a window repair vehicle pulled up in her yard and then back out and left and she knew that I was waiting for a repair. At this point my wife had not heard from Safelite. She waited a few minutes to see if he would come back to the proper address, house numbers on mailbox in BIG numbers easy to find, but no show. She called the number that was in the text message sent confirming the appointment that day to find out where the tech was. The customer service rep that she talked with she said was extremely rude and in no way helpful. He told her that the tech said that he pulled in the drive and did not see the vehicle and thought we had decided not to repair, "WELL HELLO" if you are at the wrong address you won't see the vehicle!! She asked the customer service rep to contact him and get him to come back. He told her that was not possible, that he would have to reschedule the appointment. Then he told her the next appointment would be on Monday, this is Thursday we had been waiting 3 days already and now he is telling us we have the wait another 4 days. She tried explaining that the car was not drivable and that we needed it repaired before the weekend. The CSR kept cutting her off and telling her there was nothing he could do. She ended up hanging up with no resolution. She tried calling again to a different number and got a representative in Columbia, SC that was a bit nicer and willing to try and help out and resolve things. She contact the tech while she had my wife on the on the phone and he told her that when he completed the job he was working on that he would return and do the repair on my vehicle. GREAT problem solved!! NOT SO FAST!!! Tech does show back up at 3 PM, wife gives him the keys and he goes out to repair the windshield. Wife says in just a few minutes he is back at the door saying, "You're not going to believe this but I have the wrong windshield." WHAT!?!?! Ok then well go get the right one and come back and replace it!! Sorry it doesn't work that way, we will have to reschedule for Monday we are booked up tomorrow he says. Well, my wife didn't take that too well and gets back on the phone with the representative who WAS helpful. The rep did some over-riding and got my vehicle back in the schedule now for Friday. Now the email I get on Friday morning says that my appointment window is 8 AM - 5 PM! WHAT!?!?! I should be the first priority at 8 AM since I was not taken care of on Thursday when my appointment was scheduled. This is BEYOND NON - ACCEPTABLE SERVICE!!!! It's now Friday waiting to see when and if they show up! I WILL NEVER USE OR RECOMMEND SAFELITE AUTO GLASS SERVICE!!!! SAFELITE you are a SERVICE PROVIDER you better get a grip on that very fast!!!! UPDATE TO MY REVIEW: I finally got my windshield replaced on Friday morning. The tech that came out Kenneth was much more cordial and helpful than some of the Safelite people we dealt with the day before. He made sure we were taken care of and worked hard in the heat until he completed the job. One issue arose and he promised to take care of it. Within a couple of hours after leaving Kenneth called and said that he had ordered the parts to take care of the issue and would pick up my car and take it to the shop and repair it next week and bring back to me. KUDO'S to Kenneth!!! If all of Safelite's employees were this pleasant and helpful I would use again, but due to all of the issues prior to Kenneth finally getting me squared away, this is still going to be my first and last experience with Safelite and I will definitely warn friends to stay away!!! Called and let me know that he was on his way and he explained that it will keep the windshield from breaking and the spot from the rock hitting my glass is still there.
