I scheduled a windshield replacement with Safelite AutoGlass on March 7th at 3:00 PM in Burlington. Shortly after the installation--within approximately 30 minutes of driving--I noticed a visible defect on the lower portion of the windshield. I immediately contacted the company to report the issue and requested a prompt resolution. I was then scheduled for a follow-up appointment on March 17th. During that call, I clearly stated my preference to have the issue addressed in-shop. However, on the day of the appointment, I was informed it would instead be handled as a mobile service. When the technician arrived (later than scheduled), I was given explanations that did not adequately address the defect. The technician took photos and consulted with a manager, who ultimately classified the issue as a "minor defect." I strongly disagree with this assessment. The defect significantly impacts my driving experience. It causes visual distortion to the point that it leads to nausea and headaches. I wear prescription glasses while driving, and the distortion is so severe that I am forced to remove them to see clearly through the windshield--creating an unsafe driving condition. Despite having a warranty, the company has not been willing to replace the defective windshield. This is extremely disappointing, especially as I have not had issues with their service in the past. Overall, I find this experience to be highly unprofessional and unsatisfactory. I am requesting that this issue be properly resolved with a full replacement under warranty. read more

Contacted my Insurance company to replace a windshield on my vehicle. I checked with them to make sure I still had my 0 dollar deductible for new windshield. I also checked to make sure I could get a "OEM" or "Original Equipment Manufacturer" with that. They confirmed it was. Because Safelight has control of the glass replacement scheduling software as well as the glass manufacturing. I felt like using them would make sense. On the day of my appointment they called to tell me "As of now my insurance will not cover a OEM replacement and if I want one then I will need to pay an additional 537.00. I told them I don't understand, my insurance assured me that it was covered. They said that it was possible that it might be but the initial submission was rejected. Then again they asked do I still want them to come and if so I had to pay that amount. If they found out later that it was covered they would refund me the difference. Avoid this location at all costs. I was told a small crack (approximately 1.5") in my front windshield could be "fixed" and the end result would look a bug smudge mark. The crack was not fixed. I asked Michael Carter, Store Leader, to fix the crack to the "bug smudge mark" level or refund my $195.33. He refused. I am now on hold with my bank to dispute the $195.33 charge. read more

I'm sorry that I cannot provide a "O" review. Buyers beware! We had Safelite come out to repair a small pit in our windshield. We were concerned about the heavy rain in our area when the repair service would take place. The repairman came out in the heavy rain and my husband specifically asked about risks and the only thing they told him was to not wash the car for 2 days. Which is confusing when it was raining heavily and continue for several hours and the weekend. The repair was done and the technician left. A bit later we were sent a pic of the after shot of the windshield repair. Due to the rain the picture was clear and we couldn't see a problem at that time so we said fine. Unfortunately we went back out to view the repair later as the sun came out and windshield drive and were surprised by how awful the repair looked. We contacted this Burlington office and we were told someone would call us back and they never did. This was on a Friday. We didn't drive the car all weekend and when we got in our vehicle to go to work on Monday morning there was a very large crack in our windshield. We contacted Safelite immediately and we were told that there were risks involved and the document we signed said we agreed to those risks when we signed. Luckily, I happened to have a Ring Doorbell with sound (plus 2 other cameras on the driveway as well) and had a video of my husband asking about the risks and the rain and the technician to not explain the risks involved and only mentioned not to wash the car in 2 days. We contacted their Corporate Care line and have spoken to very nice representatives but continue to get the same "speech" that they are not obligated because we signed off on the repair. We made it clear that it was raining heavily, that we specifically asked about the risks and we were not told of the risks PRIOR to signing the document which we only thought was to authorize service. I want to warn everyone wanting to work with them that this company has absolutely NO OBLIGATION to provide quality work OR to even answer questions truthfully when specifically asked. Please understand their is no "mutual obligation" with the contract. You are obligated to pay (through your insurance" and although they are obligated to do the work they are not obligated to do it correctly. This company is not even obligated to answer the specific question posted to you or be truthful. We will continue to pursue this with the District Manager as well as to make sure that Geico understands they should not have a relationship or ask their customers to work with this company who has not obligation to provide a quality job to their customers. At this time the Safelite in Burlington has only a a mere $100 (as a warranty?) for their service. So, they don't have to provide quality work and are only out a $100. I'm curious what Geico is paying for this less than 15 minutes of work they perform. read more

Let me start off by saying I am appreciative of them coming out on a Saturday. My time was 2-3. Dude showed up at 5:30. Yes I sat here all day long. No call saying hey I am running behind. Nothing. I feel that is rude. Next come up to knock on door with cigarette in hand. Nasty! I know it's a new age of people but didn't really like the ring in the nose. Not very professional. This is actually not a review from personal incident at all we just used this company to fix glass at the car dealership I used to work at and they were not always easy to work with. And considering they had a contract with us, it just didn't seem like they have good value for their service but it could be entirely different for individual customers I admit I have no idea about that because I've never used them on a personal vehicle of mine. read more

It's impossible to speak with a real person when you call the number. The automated robot forces you to either receive a text message with a link to the online portal or it will just hang up on you. This is ridiculous. I would happily use the online portal if my car model was listed but it's not. What happened to having employees at the phone of a brick and mortar business? I came to get a chip replacement on my new car, when I got my car back it had spread and looked worse than when I brought it in. I paid $120 for my car to just look worse. They said they couldn't do anything because I signed the waiver before, which I understand. The guy told me that they spread a lot and they don't even like doing them. They need to just go away with the fillings. Do NOT get the chip repair, just go ahead and replace the whole windshield! The only reason I gave 2 stars is because that $120 can be credited if I decide to get a new windshield from them. read more

I am extremely disappointed that my insurance company would leave me in the hands of Safelite. I received the worst customer service of all time. I called them Sunday and scheduled an appointment for Monday (please notice I said scheduled) as my husband had the day off. He got to our appointment at the Safelite on Church St in Burlington and they refused to do his windshield because they said they were overbooked. I am sorry someone overbooked you but that was not my problem, I had an appointment, but no they refused. So they were supposed to come to my husband's work on Tuesday, well it rained and they can not do windshields in the rain. So it is now Wednesday and they finally showed up to do it. My insurance is Nationwide and it is such a good company I cannot believe they contract with people with such disregard to their customers. Not impressed at all. read more

I feel I have been scammed by safelite. I got a small crack in my windshield, and heard that they can fix it by filling it in and so you do not see it any more and prevent it from spreading. Before the repair, I was told that they do not guarantee anything, but will try to fix it. When I got it back the crack has doubled in size, and was more visible. I was also told that they can not guarantee that it will not continue getting bigger, but they tried to prevent it from getting bigger. I was told that if it does get bigger, and I am not happy they will replace the windshield, minus the amount that I already paid to have them work on it currently. They have no guarantee of anything. My original crack was small and hardly noticable now it is twice the size and is very noticable. I should have just stayed with the small crack, and if it ever did spread then just replace my windshield. They charge money initially to try to fix it, so you are basically locked in to go back to them when you need to replace the windshield. I do not like they way they do business, I feel it is legal but unethical. UPDATE: Two days later the crack has increased to 10 times the original. Now I really need a new windshield. I wonder how long the original small crack would have just stayed small, if I never went to safelight and paid them to make it worst so I need a new windshield. WHAT A SCAM. read more

Technician was professional and capable. He did a good job replacing the cracked and poorly installed windshield. He communicated the process and cost clearly. The task was completed promptly. My only observation was there were people waiting for service a few minutes prior to opening at 8 o'clock. The employees were there; some were working, loading trucks, etc. The counter reps were smoking. I get you open at 8, but why not take care of the customers if you're there? I have a different perspective of customer service...take care of your customers if it's 5 minutes before opening or 5 minutes before closing. That's just me. read more

Safelite was chosen by my insurance company to replace a cracked windshield caused by a rock on the highway. Kevin, the technician, came on time as scheduled, and finished when he said he would. I took my car to the safelight auto glass center in Burlington NC, I left my car and went back home based upon the estimated time it would take to fix my car which was 90 minutes to 2 hours, the technician took 45 minutes to do the job, when I got back he stated to me that he took pictures of my car before and after and that the people who replaced my windshield before had messed up my molding, he had my car faced in toward the sears garage door, I didn't really give it a second thought because I had not seen any significant damage and thought may be it was just some rubber that was loose . When I got home and backed my car in I noticed that both sides of my molding were tore off, my plastic piece that holds the glass in was cut, I had just washed my car the weekend before and know that this was not the case, They refuse to fix the damage stating they had pictures of the car, yes you can send pictures after the fact. I would never do this to anyone. but I am a firm believer in GOD above and you all will reap what you sow. I spent my hard earned money to have someone do additional damage to my car.. Whatever you do, don't do business with this organization. I cant believe that they would do something like this. read more
