I recently moved and received a flyer in the mail reminding me to change my locks. I called and spoke with Steve around 10am and he was able to come out the same day between 12 and 2pm. He arrived at 12, and showed identification and proof that he was a certified locksmith per my request. (I watch a lot of Lifetime, lol) Everything was done in a little over an hour and I appreciated the professionalism and concern when he mentioned updating other areas of the house, without pressure. We just moved and were advised to get new locks for all our doors. We received Safeguard Lock's flyer in our mailbox, so we called the number and got a 50% discount using the flyer's promo code. For 4 locks and 3 additional keys (2 keys are free, each additional key is $2.50), our service came out to about $128. David Lieu was the technician who visited our home. He gave us a 3-hour window of when he would arrive, and he came within that window. He brought a van that had equipment for him to work on our locks. Our 4 locks were re-keyed, and we had the 5 keys we wanted all within 30 minutes. The service was quick, efficient, and David himself was very polite and knowledgeable. Service was indeed fast and friendly. If we need anything related to locks & garage door reprogramming, we'll be calling Safeguard Lock again. read more

Don't get strung along the way I did! I moved into a new home and got the flyer in the mail. $18 rekey and $35 service visit. $13 to change any other doorknobs (possibly up to $25 max). Fantastic! Should be about $66. They were good about quick scheduling and showed up on time. My door had double lock (one on each side of the door) X double cost. Contractor lost the keys so $10/lock X 2 to pick the lock. Pressure to change the "old lock since it might be rusted for only $40 more." Door knob changed and warned it may be "more expensive" Asked about patio door, could be "up to $50" Oh and the bevel of the new door knob doesn't fit in it's hole space so $10 more (for a 5 second drill). My door knob was also put in upside down. I didn't do half the things and signed off on $114 to Steve. He promptly left with the old handles and nails sitting on my patio and new opened packages on the floor. When I asked what to do with them he yelled "you can throw them in the recycle bin" as he exited the home. Classy. I keep it real so 1 star for quick availability and 1 stars for the job on two doorknobs getting complete. But lots negatives on the service. Definitely my last time calling them. read more

I received a flyer in the mail from Safeguard Lock & Security. After moving I always wanted to have my home rekeyed, but never got around to it. After a few months, I pulled out the flyer and contacted them. Appointment setting was simple and they came out a few days later. The rekeying process took awhile, but everything was done satisfactory. I also requested and had installed a new deadbolt to replace an existing one. After he left I realized the new deadbolt was a lower grade security than I would have liked so I contacted the company to have it replace with the highest grade available. Today they came out and replaced it at no extra charge. I definitely recommend Safeguard Lock & Security. read more

I received a brochure in the mail at my new home listing all their services and pricing for each service. I scheduled an appointment for a garage tune-up service, re-program the garage remote, purchased an extra garage remote (only received one when I moved in) that was programmed as well, and installed a door viewer. Prices are reasonable (paid around $200 for the service call and the services) and our technician (David) was absolutely efficient and did all the services quickly. David even called me to let he know he was half an hour away. David did suggest programming our vehicles to open the garage as well and did offer some insight on the garage itself (when to eventually change the system [old system]), but he was not pushy about the additional services. I will definitely keep the brochure handy when I need their services in the future! read more

First I want to say that I do my research before I decide to settle on anyone for my service needs. I called several places to see the best quote I can get. This was the only place that was able to give me one BEFORE coming out to my place. Everyone else gave me the run-around saying "we can't really give you one until we come out and take a look at what you would need to have done". In other words let me see the hundred different ways we can swindle you for more money! Yeah roiiight, I don't think so pals........Anyways first guy I spoke to was Paul. He was courteous, friendly & professional. Left him a message & he called back right away. Told him what I wanted done and he broke down the price for me in detail. He said he would be there at 3:30 (barely an hour from speaking to him on the phone--impressive!) A few minutes after 3:30 a guy named Steve knocks on our door. We liked Steve even more than Paul! He was cordial, professional & very respectful. He was very thorough, showed us the areas of any possible security breaches, triple-checked with us everything we wanted before starting his work & giving us a final quote, which we were pleased with because it ended up being less than what we were initially quoted. A definite plus! I mean 2 deadbolt installs, peephole install, 4 re-keys, 2 doorknob removal & replacement plus 6 extra keys for less than $250 is a steal right?? I did have a promo code but still I was very happy with the price. At the end, he also did a walk-through to make sure the old keys no longer worked & that the new keys did. We couldn't have asked for better service! I would highly recommend Safeguard Lock & Security to anyone, would most definitely use their service again and I hope you are lucky enough to get Steve as your locksmith because he was awesome! i have a novice here. he arrived an hour and a half ago and still hasn't rekeyed a single lock. I only have 3...he seems rather slow and incompetent at one point i had to ask him if he's done this before. i wish i had everyone's else's experience here...i'd tell him to leave but i'd have zero locks. read more

Received their brochure in the mail when I moved in and found out their prices were pretty competitive. Talked with Steve on the phone to make the appointment and he was extremely patient in explaining options, lock types, and other random questions I had. He was then able to schedule me for the very next day. David showed up within the promised window of 10am-12pm and spent 4 hours rekeying the whole house. He also made some suggestions for improving security in other places, such as putting pin locks on patio doors, and also pointed out and corrected many minor flaws with our door alignments to allow the locks to function better. I did call around to two other places before choosing these guys. They were the cheapest (though the second-cheapest was pretty close), and they both simply gave me the feeling that they were legit locksmiths and that they were giving me reasonable prices for good quality service. It's only one day after the work was done, but my wife and I are very happy so far. They also have a 1 year warranty on their parts and labor, so that gives us additional peace of mind. If I ever have need of locksmith services again in the future, I'll definitely call these guys first. I hope they add emergency 24hr service since I know I can trust them. read more

For the good, Steve charges a reasonable service call rekey fees. He'll also try to accomodate same day appointments, but then again so do most locksmiths. For the not so good: His flyer says no "hidden" fees but he charged an additional fee for lubrication and adjustment which seemed unfair since that's part of rekeying an existing lock. His flyer says he takes credit cards but he claimed his payment network was down. Strange since the last reported PSN outage was on Oct 12 2013. My guess is he tries to keep his prices low to get the job, but he'll try to nickle and dime you whenever possible. read more

I got a flyer for a new home. I called and spoke with John who asked me to send pictures of the door and lock I wanted installed. The following week since I never heard back from him I called and he said he never got anything. I went ahead and scheduled my appointment for 8am the next week anyway. That morning he called to confirm...again. I said I'm here. Just waiting. When David Lieu finally showed it was 8:45am. Nevertheless, I was not that upset. I just wanted it done. After some back and forth and him just standing at my door as I told him over and over and over again that yes, I wanted him to do the lock, he came to the conclusion he was missing some tools and would have to come back. By this point it is already 1 hour later than when scheduled. I asked him what is the hold up, I have to get to work and I guess he felt disgruntled, had another job AND THEN JUST LEFT! HE JUST ABANDONED ME AND THE JOB! LIKE THAT! What the?? NEVER NEVER NEVER AGAIN. UNBELIEVABLE. PLUS - The flyer offers a discount but once you call they add additional costs which make up the price and they are pricey. read more

Received a brochure from this company after we moved to a new home. They had special prices for new homeowners that beat local locksmiths. I checked Yelp to make sure they were reputable. Check. David came out the same day and rekeyed 5 locks, installed new knobs & digital keypads on two and fixed a kickplate on a door that wasn't opening well. He was so polite, well mannered and knowledgeable and took the time to explain how to work/change the digital keypads in future.
