Glen, Enrique and Joseph did an amazing work rewiring our house. We started out just wanting to change the old panel and sub panel to a single panel for the whole house outside and fix a few outlets that went out to a complete rewire. Glen pointed out several problems with the wiring and how to fix it. Enrique and Joseph came in and worked through the house beginning with the garage and working through the kitchen. The work was done through patches instead of tearing the walls out. Rosa and Nicole were very helpful in the office with payments and permits. Enrique did the walk through with the inspector to ensure we passed inspection. The overall experience was excellent. The owner came out and sold me on the why and how a circuit is to be wired. I had then approved an entire circuit of switches and outlets to be done. Once billed and paid-for I had questions and they were promptly answered. The problem is I then had a competitive bid go out to two other larger companies and kept all existing work out of discussion. I found out that one of those companies who by the way, was a larger older company, used the same wiring protocols and they had for years. This contradicted Safe-way's sales pitch. But the reason I went with them was the price tag. Significantly less and there was only a 5% difference between the two bid offers. This is a learned lesson on my part. My suggestion is get competitive bids up front, don't hold the sale pitch as gospel and the person selling should really be doing the work. read more

Can't say enough good things about this company. My entire circuit box said adios ( I.E. no electricity) Glen the owner came the same day. He knew right away what the solution would be to fix it. Explained it very thoroughly and explained the permit process and Edison approval necessary. He was upfront on the cost and the breakdown of why the parts were needed. He was able to get the electric working enough to get us by until the circut board could be replaced. Any questions I called with were answered with professionalism and courtesy. When the upgrade/ replacement was done his guy ( Enrique) was very focused on what he was doing and completed the job in the time he said. left the work area as clean as when he arrived. I was in need of help with several electric issues in my home. I called and asked for a Electrician to come out. Glen came out & was very professional and knows his safety guidelines when it comes to electricity being a protentional hazard. Glen took the time out of his busy day before Christmas to educate and show me all the safety problems that need to be repaired prior to installing the new fixtures. Glen was very helpful in answering my many questions without appearing to busy. 1# My back patio lights had stopped working when the switch was on as motion sensor. Had to turn the switch on & turn it off when done outside. 2# Porch light was out & I was concerned that it was powered by electricity & bulbs. 3# Have new light fixtures to be hung in my home, before I don't like them anymore. 4# Garage has one light but that's for a whole other visit. Glen repaired my back patio light issue with no problem. Quick & easy for him. Glen also checked the electricity coming from the front porch light & it did use bulbs and house electricity. Once my dog warmed up to Glen, she followed him all over. Safe way electric Solar is a family run business and they are trustful in knowledge of their craft. When it comes to electricity I feel it's most important to hire a licensed electrician as with other tasks that need to be done as safely as possible, obviously for all parties involved. I do plan to have those other electric tasks repaired by Safe way & Solar Company as soon as I can. Friendly service guy came out and gave estimate. The first red flag was the appointment. Scheduled for 2pm weekend appointment the office called and said the electrician was available earlier and that we had agreed to an earlier time., which we never did. After inspection we agreed on a price and date/time. On the date, the guy never showed up or confirmed. We called the office and was told they were completely overbooked and couldn't promise a time. Poor communication and poor customer service. Not sure if they're even any good. Based on our interactions they do not seem professional nor care about taking care of customers. The owner followed up and apologized by phone, but that's too little too late. Update: we chose a competitor. It turned out to be $300 cheaper for the exact same job. At this point they failed on all fronts. Would never recommend this business based on our experience. read more

This is a review for services rendered September and November 2018 from Glenn. September's situation was the pool pump would not turn on so we required an electrician to remedy this situation The November issue was a defective circuit breaker unit. He performed electrical work both times and we are pleased with the results. He immediately responds to your telephone call. He is punctual and professionally conducts himself. He explains very well what and why something needs to be done. He offers alternative solutions as well as corrective recommendations. His work is excellent. We did have to have a return visit to adjust any of his work. He is a bit pricey but, you get what you pay for - a job well done. We highly recommend Safe-way Electric and Solar company. We plan to have him do additional work in the near future. Additionally work conducted January 24, 2020.. We had Glenn and his team install a dedicated unit for our freezer in the garage. They performed just as professionally as they did in 2018. Responded quickly to our call, punctual, courteous and respectful of our property. Cleaned up all of their debris. It happened sometime in the middle of the night, we think about 3-4am. Kids went to take a shower and no lights, I figured that the breaker popped. NOPE, they were stolen. Would NOT recommend. Is there a no star review?We woke up with partial power in our house. The utility company came onsite and told us it's a problem with a line in our home so we found Safeway electric on google. Unfortunately, they came out and did not identify the problem and said a more in-depth troubleshoot was needed which he quoted $1,180! He also quoted $5k to upgrade our panel (which we didn't need). We paid $69 for this initial inspection which was a total waste of money. At that point we got a second opinion and reached out to Brea Electric. They came to our house and within 15 minutes identified the issue immediately which was a loose wire in the kitchen light switch. Fixed the problem right away. We will not use Safeway electric again. read more

I had an electrical emergency on a Sunday of a holiday weekend, and Safe-Way Electric really came through for me. Not only did someone come out that day, but it was the owner (Glenn). He explained the problem, how he was going to fix it, and why he was doing it. I ended up having all the outlets in my house replaced as a precaution (old/bad wiring) and it was done the next day, and for a fair rate. The electrician who came the next day, Randy, was on time, friendly, kept me updated on progress throughout the day, he cleaned up after working, and wore his mask the entire time (during COVID outbreak). I called them to assess and give me an estimate for repair or install two ceiling fans. their person showed and said both needed replaced and after I bought new ones to install then it would be $380 each to install them. I called another person, listed on a handyman site, he installed one fan with a burned out motor and fixed the other one for $80...great person and great service. Recently had Safe-way electric come out and investigate some electrical problems that my mom was having at her house. Safeway was the second estimate that I was getting for damages/repairs because the first estimate that we got was for $6000 and the insurance company was unwilling to pay that kind of money to fix the problem. there was a difference of opinion lets say between what the insurance company was arguing was the problem and the initial estimate that I had gotten from another electrician ($6K). So I thought the best approach would be to get another opinion so that I could hopefully find out exactly what was going on with the house and what repairs needed to be done to keep my mom's house safe. There was some concern on my end that the initial bid was too high and that perhaps the electrician was trying t milk the insurance company a little bit. So in comes Dave with Safe-way electric. The first thing he tells me over the phone is that, "insurance companies hate me." I immediately told him over the phone that all I wanted was an honest opinion as to what happened at her house and what was necessary to get done to keep her safe. I expressed that I was not looking for someone to come in and take advantage of the situation and to try and take it to the insurance company. So Dave does his inspection and gives his estimate for repairs....$11,000!!! I was immediately disappointed and left feeling that I was never going to get an honest opinion as to what was happening at her house. I now had to separate electricians with an average estimate between them of $8500 and neither estimate was in agreement with the other as to what exactly was necessary to be done. Fast forward about a week and I had Sean with Duke Electric come out and for $200 and an hour of his time he was able to diagnose a "bad neutral" in the house and after it was repaired the 240 volts that had been running through the house in several areas disappeared and things were back to normal. The breakers didn't need to be replaced, the panel didn't need to be replaced, none of the lights or ceiling fans needed to be replaced...all for $200! Safe-way Electric, as did the original electrician that I brought out, was not able to correctly diagnose the problem and made recommendations for repairs that were unnecessary and over the top. Clearly this was a case where an electric company was trying to take advantage of an insurance company. I am disappointed and don't recommend their services. read more
