I recently purchased the Essential Tactical Bundle and wanted to share my experience. Customer Service Truly exceptional -- far beyond five stars (1,000,000 if there is I swear) I'm very meticulous, with no experience whatso ever in tactical gear, and spending $1,000 is a significant investment for me, so I visited the main showroom at the Safe Life Defense HQ on Raiders Way in Las Vegas, at least four times before making my decision. During these visits, I met with Jaryna and Doug, who were both outstanding. They answered every one of my detailed questions thoroughly and patiently, and never once seemed annoyed or rushed. I tried multiple sizes and even considered some cheaper alternatives online, but honestly, their professionalism and kindness were major reasons I chose Safe Life Defense. Their customer service alone earned my trust. (I've included photos of both of them below.) Product Review For context, I'm a security guard and not an expert in tactical gear, so this review is based purely on my personal experience & don't have to be necessarily true or correct. I'm 5'9" and 163 lbs. According to the Safe Life Defense sizing chart, I should be a Small. However, here are my recommendations based on actual use: * If your job prioritizes mobility over maximum coverage (law enforcement, military, or anyone who needs high movement), choose the size recommended by Safe Life Defense. In this case, you will likely need side armor for full protection. * If you are a security guard or prioritize coverage over mobility--especially if you prefer concealed wear--consider going one size up if you are between sizes. I selected a Medium, even though my measured size was Small. The Medium gives me better coverage while still being extremely comfortable for driving, sitting, bending, etc. * When fitting your vest, take a deep breath with your lungs fully expanded before adjusting the straps. If you size or fit your vest while relaxed, you may feel chest pressure or discomfort during physical activity requiring deep breathing. This is another reason to consider sizing up if you're close to the next size. * The material quality is excellent. * Be sure to read the care instructions for the vest and plates. Doug gave me an excellent walkthrough on how to care for the gear, handle the plates, move them between carriers, and adjust both vests properly. His help ensured everything fit correctly and felt comfortable. * My only complaint is the belt. I would rate it 3 out of 5 stars. It's very stiff, and I prefer wearing it loosely above my pants so I can easily remove it when getting into my car--especially when wearing regular clothing. A Medium belt fit my waist (32") but the MOLLE sections ended too close to my hip bone and didn't look right. The Large size fit better, but required removing two MOLLE rows, which the company doesn't currently offer as a customization. I also would have preferred a belt design similar to many of the adjustable models sold on Amazon, where you can resize it from both sides. The current buckle with the stiffness of the belt tends to angle outward like a "^" even when the belt technically fits. Overall, the gear is absolutely worth the money, and one of the biggest reasons I chose Safe Life Defense was their exceptional customer service. read more

I own a @SafeLifeDefense #Concealablevest . I needed a #FirstResponsevest for work. Couldn't afford a whole new vest so I wanted to change out my IIIA+ soft armor panels. I went into their location yesterday and when I tell you. This was hands down the best experience ever. I had the pleasure of being helped by Karl. He was nice enough to check my size to make sure I was still in the best fit since I had lost a lot of weight. He was patient and polite the whole time. He changed out everything for me and made sure I was locked and ready to go. If the experience wasn't dope enough, he allowed me to try on the new Hyper Concealable #Hyperline . Bought a "ready to ship" item, it didn't ship, called twice and spoke with someone who said that she totally understood my frustration, said she'd send a message to the shipping dept......I felt like these were stall tactics. You either have the item in stock, hence, "ready to ship", or you don't and say that, or you explain to the buyer that you're short staffed, whatever. Just saying what you think the customer wants to hear is disingenuous. The actual products made by Safe Life are good, no problem for me with that, but their shipping time needs to be im proved. Oh, after I called twice I got a tracking number........but it still didn't ship. Took a week for a ready to ship, in-stock, non-customized item to go out. Scammers. Should have read the reviews ahead of time to realize this is the typical pattern. Order a very expensive product, waited weeks for shipping. When it finally shipped and delivery date came and went - called UPS and they said the box was flagged as "stolen content". They likely sent an empty box. I thought I was lucky to have paid for "shipping protection" - but instead of immediate refund - they sent me to a runaround and "launched an investigation" that by their "policy" takes many weeks while they hold your money for eternity. Some rude "customer service rep" even hung up on me when called to inquire. This is not a real company. This is a scam. Stay away. read more

Ordered a tactical duty belt that never showed up. I did in fact pay for the insurance with the purchase of the duty belt which includes a variety of reasons for coverage. I initiated the process which took a while and they ended up sending me an affidavit to sign stating the reasoning is factual and I am truthful in my statement. Signed no problem and received the receipt of the docusign. No response from them since. I ordered the belt in December 2024 and signed the affidavit on 1/6/25. Today is 2/28/25 and it's been radio silence on their end. I've called multiple times with no answer with only an option to leave a voicemail which never get returned. I've sent them multiple emails which also go unanswered. They whacked me $19 for standard shipping and $5 for the insurance. All in all with the belt being on sale, I'm out $151 for an item I never received and an insurance that clearly didn't cover anything. Terrible business practice. I enjoy the carrier I have from them, but $151 for a duty belt that never came? Don't waste your time with this company. That's a hell of a way to show their support for Law Enforcement. read more

I'm an emergency locksmith and I walked in to get some gloves, first off they took me in and sized me up JUST FOR GLOVES!!! showed me all of them and helped me find the right ones quality of gloves are ridiculously good couldn't have asked for more I even bought a hat and both are really great I will definitely be coming back to get some vests and will definitely recommend my coworkers to come in I really couldn't ask for better customer service!! They promised shipment of the items I bought in 4-6 weeks. At five weeks, I emailed and asked for a status. No response. Just after six weeks, I emailed twice and asked for a status. No response. They spend a lot of money on marketing everywhere; Facebook, Instagram, YouTube. They apparently don't spend any money in their customer service department. I would be cautious about ordering anything from this company. There appears to be a good chance you won't get your items when promised and no response from the company about ----- After they told me it could be several more weeks before my order would be ready (placing it at about three months after I placed the order), I told them to go ahead and cancel it. Staff member Gunner explained patiently what products they had available, and I was able to pick the items which best met my needs. After leaving Las Vegas, I called the store after I discovered that I had left my jacket behind. I just bought a large amount of face masks from this company. I tried one, and couldn't breathe with it, so I called the company with a request to return the masks. They were unopened and packaged as arrived to me. The company responded that they can't take it back, but I can resell these. I feel very upset about their no return policy, and wanted to warn you and make you aware that their masks don't work for you, they have no return policy at all. Also, in response to my request to return the masks, the representative called me and without hearing me at all, told me a long story of his own experience with the masks and how it "should be", absolutely uninterested in what actually my (customer) experience was. When the order was placed it said item ready to ship. Waited 3 business days and still not shipped. Had to contact them and was shipped after I had asked about the status. Requested to return a vest, because I was not satisfied with the limited molle in the front for my attachments. I sent the vest back using there Fedex shipping label provided and I was charged $52 for shipping!! I requested a quote from Fedex and if I had purchased a shipping label myself would have been $14. They took money out from the refund according to the invoice for patches!?, never was the patch charged when I made the purchase as was included in the purchase and did not add to the overall cost. Everything was sent back as it came and photos where taken when I shipped the item back. Never again will I deal with a shady business that is operates in this manner. Horrible communication. From the get go they printed a shipping label, lost it and then had my carrier sitting in the warehouse for a week. I noticed no shipping information and when I called in I was told that it was FedEx fault. I call FedEx and they said they haven't even received the package, that they only have the label created online by SafeLife. I call back and get the run around, 2 more calls later I get told the truth of them losing the shipping label and just letting it sit in shipping. A week after that I get the carrier and what's wrong now? Wrong Product! I call in, talk to customer relation lady May, wanted me to send pics of the carrier and invoice to confirm. I did and was told they would ship me the correct carrier that day. Email here: Thank you for the pictures! I went ahead and let my warehouse know and we will get this shipped out for you in the next 24 hours! I will email over the return label to send the current carrier back to us! I had the best customer service experience today. James was right there to greet me today and knew who I was as I called the day before. He showed me around and answered all my questions. I then met Doug and he elaborated on the products and help size me properly. Susan sized me for their hyperline and it felt as if I had a normal dress vest on. Everyone was positive and I am extremely excited to introduce safe life to my security company KellyCorps. I never had a carrier distribute the weight so well. With the level 3A+ and the ceramic plates, my shoulders felt as if there was almost nothing on them. Thank you all for making us feel like family the day you met us. Never sure how to start one of these, but I was in the market for a IIIA vest that was affordable but also comfortable. I happened to stumble upon this company through sheer luck and immediately got in contact with them. Their custom service was top notch and never got frustrated answering a batter of questions. I ended up ordering the concealable IIIA+ as knives are the number one concern in the area I work. The fact that the company had stab resistant armor was a huge plus. When the vest and armor arrived it came with documents from a NIJ certified lab showing the tests the armor has gone through, which gave me piece of mind regarding it's performance. The reason I gave this a 4 star is for the best alone. The concealable vest is very comfortable, however I was not the biggest fan of the 4 side elastic straps and replace them with the singular strap that comes with the tactical carrier, as I find it offers more stability and it's easier to slap on and off. The second thing I would prefer to be changed is the should straps. Instead of the rear being sown into the back portion of the vest I would prefer a non elastic nylon velcro strap that you place similar to the side of the carrier, but on the tops. Overall though the vest is great, and extremely comfortable, and provides plenty of breathability. Great company with a great product, at a great price. read more

I ordered a vest through Safe Life and attempted to return it for a resize. I had worn the vest for one shift and found it was just a bit too big. I shipped the vest back expecting a size reduction any day. After two weeks and a lengthy email conversation with their customer service department about how I needed the vest by a specific upcoming event, I was under the impression that they were completing my order. That was until I called 3 days prior to the event to inquire about a possible return date and they informed me that the vest could not be resized. I still haven't received back my original vest which I had paid $200 dollars for. I will make every effort to avoid this company in the future and hope you do too. This morning I stopped in to check out the light Molle belts. The male employee that was working told me that he only had his display belts and I could try them if I wanted. He abruptly asked my waist size and when I explained to him I'm in between sizes based on their online size chart he talked about how he was in between sizes too because he was too fat for one and too small for the other. He was very rude and came off very arrogant. He said the belts were back ordered and would take about 6 weeks to get them in but I would have to buy one. I told him I would come back later when I pick my dog up from doggie daycare if I decided I'd want to wait so long for something I need now. I was trying to let him know I would come back to ensure him I'd come back because I'd be in the area anyway. The male employee that had deodorant marks all over his shirt and looked like he was eating something greasy and had no social skills during this entire conversation that only got worse... he then proceeded to insult me and tell me if people can't handle their dogs and have to put them in doggy camp they shouldn't have or own dogs. He said this 3 different ways and was very demeaning. I thought to myself that this guy doesn't know when to stop talking and that he has no couth. I would give this place a negative star based on unprofessional and discourteous customer service along with the long wait for a belt. I understand if they are being handmade but there should be an explanation For why the long wait. Note to owner: if you are going to have a store front, manage your employees, they will make or break your company. read more

Bought the body armor bundle on 13 January 2021. On 22 March 2021, 2/3 of it was delivered to the wrong address. Called on 24 March gave the correct address and initiated the Route protection refund, for what was delivered. 5 April the remaining 1/3 of the bundle was ONCE AGAIN delivered to the wrong address... at this point, the company can't be trusted and it's time to spend money elsewhere. read more

Unfortunately my company told me i was not approved to wear it. Worried that id be stuck with a vest i cant wear, i went over to talk to the team about what i could do.
