I have difficulty logging in frequently and nearly every time, the log inn stuff doesn't work at all after multiple account log attempts. This is affecting my use of this credit union. I have never felt more welcomed, she was extremely patient with all my questions and handled all my requests in a timely manner. I'd like to leave some money sitting safety in a bank or even see it grow. Instead SAFE CREDIT UNION keeps applying monthly fees until its almost gone. They require a large minimum balance or some kind of auto deposit to avoid fees. Why can't we just keep a small balance for an emergency fund or controlled internet shopping, etc.? Maybe it's just safer in a cookie jar! They say the credit union is owned by them members but I don't have this problem with my other big banks? read more

This Credit Union (SAFE CU) is completely incompetent because in addition to not processing the paperwork for our car correctly, they sent us a DMV form that indicated an incorrect purchase price which was way off the actual amount. They required that we fill it out and sign it - claiming that it is DMV and not SAFE CU requesting this information. It was very confusing and frustrating for us. The least they could do is to reach out to us directly by phone if there is a problem and not by snail mail. Also, they should ALWAYS check dollar amounts before sending documents to their customers to be signed. It's a good thing that my husband didn't just sign it and mail it off. He should not be doing the "leg work" for them. When they mess up- they need to admit it, own up to it and take care of it like professionals. We are seriously considering to close our accounts with them as we have never had such a stressful experience with any other financial institution. We are very disappointed and will most likely look around for another credit union that will hopefully prove to be more professional and responsible in handling our business. Customers should watch their backs with this one because this error was very careless! read more

I came to this branch three times so far ; while waiting in line, noticed that the bank teller did not ask the people in front of me, to pull down there mask to reveal identity . I had paid my mortgage twice by accident and the second payment was pending. I needed to stop the second payment. The credit union was very busy and short handed but Radha Bains sensed my urgency to get this payment stopped as I could not afford to pay it twice. She brought me into her office and proceeded to try and figure out a way to stop this payment. After a half hour on the phone and computer she got it done. What a relief. Thank you so much Radha Bains for relieving a stressful situation. I love this branch of Safe Credit union as they all have been very helpful whenever something comes up. read more

Do not bank here unless you want your money stolen! After 10 instances of fraud on my debit cards I figured whoever was stealing my money had my account number because it was the same charge every time. Every time I went in to SAFE to fix the issue, the only thing they would do is give me a new card. They refused to close my account and open a new one with a new number. In total I have lost around $2,500 in fraud and I filed a claim to be repaid that money 4 months ago and still have yet to see a dime. I pulled all my existing money out and put it into another bank, but still left my SAFE account open so that they could refund the stolen money to that account. However, I had a yearly subscription that I forgot to change over to my new bank. Now SAFE has the audacity to send me a letter saying I have overdrafted my account due to that charge for the subscription and they're charging me overdraft fees. If they would have replaced my stolen money like they are supposed to, I would never have even been in this situation. I will be filing a claim with the better business bureau. read more

I have to say that when I started working with these people I thought the world of them. Then they stole money from me. I have had probably 4 different car loans, trust accounts and a variety of other services. The most recent car loan was the quencher though. They talked me into getting their "gap" insurance plan. I did as they suggested because they said that their gap policy was the same as everyone else's- but it was not. When I paid off my truck, only 9 months into a 7 year loan, I requested the GAP be cancelled since it was legally an "insurance" policy but then they refused to return the unused premium. Don't get me wrong, I will be filing a complaint with the Insurance Commissioner but I also wanted all of you to know that they are just another corrupt lender who will steal from clients without thinking twice. I even emailed the CEO but apparently the corruption runs really high as he simply ignored my emails. Be very careful before trusting these people!! read more

Over the years I have banked with FAR too many financial institutions. I've seen the good, the bad, and the downright awful. Thankfully I was introduced to Safe Credit Union recently. I decided to move my primary and business accounts here after sitting down and talking with one of their bankers. The service I have received thus far has been better than any other bank I have ever done business with anywhere. This branch in particular should be a model for what the other branches should look like. It is always absolutely spotless. They are well staffed and wait times are kept to a minimum at all times. There is a drive through ATM as well as a walk up ATM on the side of the building. There is even a small table/play area for children when you need to come in while you have your little ones with you. This has come in handy for sure! I could rant on and on about how pleased I am to have made the switch to Safe Credit Union, but suffice it to say that this will be the last time I switch banks. read more

I absolutely hate SAFE and will be closing out my accounts this week. Here are just a few of the issues- 1) the Lincoln branch where I opened my account is always understaffed. If I go inside I have to expect a wait in line. There are people working that don't look too busy but they don't help as a teller when needed. 2) they set ridiculously low withdraw limits on "new" accounts and those stay for a YEAR! $200 ATM withdrawal limit is the worst. My child with a little youth saver account at another bank can withdrawal more than me! Then they also limit POS transactions. My card gets declined regularly! Not because I don't have money, but because they decline if I have over $1000 in transactions in a day! It's my freaking money but I can't spend it! I hate SAFE and will have to deal with starting over with another bank that actually cares about their customers and allows reasonable access to my money! The worst. Try golden one! Oh, they also won't let you withdraw your own cash from your account if it's a large amount unless you set up a week in advance. Seriously! read more

I'd give this bank a zero star if it was possible never in my life have I had a bank literally steal money from me and refuse to give me a valid explanation, return my calls or follow up in any form. In September I was charged for a moving service that was cancel due to staffing issues due to Covid. However I was still charged for the service and it was impossible to get a hold of the company so I disputed the charged. Literally 4 months after the dispute was opened safe took back the money not once hit twice and said it was valid, even after I had documents saying the service was cancelled and no charges would be placed for the services. Now they are refusing to return my calls stating it's over 90 days since the charge and even with them taking the so called charges back well after 90 days. There dispute program is down just about everyday. In addition your lucky to talk to a representative in under 20 minutes. Long story short I am changing banks, and will be taking legal action so I can recoup my money. read more

I went in to pay off a credit card and had been at a Safe in Roseville where they said i needed to speak with a private banker. I ended up needing to bring something in and I live closer to this branch. I went into this one and told them i need to speak with a private banker and they insisted the teller could help. after explaining myself several times she has someone help her and then he didn't know and then after 20 mins they realized oh i was right i needed a banker. It was frustrating and even after i told them i knew i needed someone else they wouldn't listen to me and the line behind me just started getting longer and i felt bad for other customers. People were nice but they assumed too much and made it a long drawn out process than it needed to be. read more

The place is spotless, they always have plenty of staff there and I have never had to wait. The bankers are incredibly friendly and make transactions smooth! Safe Credit Union has stressed me badly, a medically retired US Marine, after our new car burned up in the recent and biggest wildfire in California history. We reported the total loss to Safe and to our insurer but Safe keeps sending letters threatening to force us to pay for them to insure that destroyed car. Safe just told me they will contact our insurer and leave us alone, but somehow after all the harassment I don't believe they can get over this. I loathe companies that advertise about how they appreciate and serve veterans but act like this. Many major battles and wars of America have been decided by the Marines. Safe should think about how they will survive if it when America is invaded. The Marines will have to decide at some point which companies, buildings, and institutions they will defend and which they will watch get crushed. Safe and many other countries need to start giving serious thought to how they treat our military and veterans and do much better or they will be lost in future war. read more

Love my Safe CU!! I have banked with financial institutions that seem that they are more for the corporation than the people. Safe has proved to me the opposite, I will never go back to a bank and will continue with Credit Unions ... what a difference. The customer service and options they provide are the best of the best. We had been with US Bank for years, we went to them to discuss a potential refinance for my husbands truck. He had been paying a Mercedes payment on this darn thing. We consulted with them and they said that his truck wasnt new enough for them to refinance (by one year)! Low miles and great truck. My Mom banked with American River CU before they converted into Safe CU's and she told me to contact them. We thought we were forever going to have to pay $600+ for this truck every month. It was like our prayers were answered, they refinanced him at a low rate and knocked his payments down to the mid $200's!! Amazing :) Thank you Safe CU.
