I recently opened a checking and saving account here in my process of transitioning away from BofA. The banker that helped me open the account was very helpful, informative and personable. He definitely made me feel very welcome and comfortable about opening a new account. I've been with BofA for years, so it's a long process to transfer everything over, but SAFE has been amazing. I haven't been with them long enough to rate a 5 star, but so far, they are definitely a 4 start minimum! Only drawback... they still do paper deposits at their ATMs with no image on your receipt. I did really like that about BofA. Small price to pay however, for the benefits of banking with SAFE! read more

This bank is always behind always a line super disorganized and too much conversation with customers wastes others time

Very inattentive to the Business customers and prioritize servicing the regular line utilizing the business tellers. As a business customer it was very inefficient and a much slower experience than just using the regular lane as I was completely ignored until asking if I was going to be helped today. read more

Safe Antelope location is amazing. All the employees are very welcoming. I was having issues with my bank card and mobile app. The teller was very helpful and even helped me on my phone. She was very patient and took time to help me as I was having trouble for few days. Good people read more

I've been going to safe credit union for about 10 years. I've never had an issue with them. It's really disappointing that I had a very unprofessional experience with them. I think it's just this location, wouldn't recommend going to this location. Never had any issues with any other location. Definitely needs better management. read more

Avi was a massive help, had a karen interrupt my transaction to complain about whatever was ruining her day today but avi kept his composure remained professional and called her out that it was rude to interrupt like that. I see why he's the manager and on top of that he solved my issue with no hesitation while simultaneously helping out his staff. A true example of a leader in the workplace. read more

Worst experience ever at this branch. Long lines. Tellers are moving like snails. The whole atmosphere is depressing. Never will I ever step foot in this disgusting place. Whoever manages this branch is a terrible manager and should be fired. Safe CU has degraded horribly. After today I am seriously considering pulling all my money from them and banking elsewhere. read more

Safe attendant refused to help because it was 10 minutes to closing. I had brain surgery recently and put my significant other on my account so he can pay bills while I'm recuperating. When I altered my acct the bank associates assured me that was the way to do it and he wouldn't have any issues. Everything was fine for the last 8 weeks and he's been able to take money in and out to pay our bills until today. Just because it was close to 2pm on a Saturday. I'm very disappointed in this staff. Do better. You have clients with lives just like yours and it helps to read the notes on their acct...Despite whether you're off in a few minutes or not. read more

Tried to open a new account but they denied me. Reason was previous account with negative history. I never had negative balance for 19 years of being a member. I paid off everything including my car loan ( gave them $19k cashier's check) before moving to another bank closer to my house. I had weekly direct deposit and paid my car loan on time. Or, they denied me for being brown with non American name. They're far worse than other credit unions. I opened my first account 19 years ago as I wanted to support local businesses but this is I get. read more

very quick and easy!! other Safes have taken up to an hour to print me a new card, this one took about 10 minutes!!

I've been with Safe forever. My parents opened an account for me here. I've had good customer service at the counter, and with saving money and setting up a retirement account. Safe Credit Union's mobile app works well and they hire thoughtful people. They are always clean, organized, and professional. I'm really glad I do business with them. I've always had a smooth experience with customer service on the phone, and via chat through their website. read more

Locked out of my card AGAIN! Within a day and a half of fixing it they turned it off again with no warning or even charges made on the card to consider suspicious enough to turn it off. Crazy, I'm switching banks, can't even use my money here. Customer service is unhelpful so I suggest keeping money in a Cashapp for when they shut you out on your vacation or a random Sunday while they're closed. read more

Again I have to say what a pleasure it is to have a bank that just plain does a great job and cares about it's clients. We had car troubles and had to do several odd purchases out of our usual area. Safe called to be sure it was us and not fraud. Thanks Safe for watching out for us! We love you! read more

Look, I'm just trying to open an account, so STOP TRYING TO SELL ME OTHER BULLSH*T! Maybe the Personal Banker I got was being pressured to make a few sales, but some people just don't know when to quit. I came in as a referral to open an account and receive $100 for both me and the referrer. I kept stating that I was not interested in any Credit Card or extra checks, yet she persisted. I ended up not using the account, and closing it shortly after receiving my $100 however :-) read more

If you don't mind going into the branch for most things this is a great bank for you. The online banking isn't the best, compared to others I have used. The tellers and branch staff are friendly a d knowledgeable, I just hate having to in to the bank for a lot of my transactions. Also there are very few ATMs that work in the area. read more

Safe credit union has been charging me 4$ every months since march of 2012. When I finally started using this account I was wondering why I was being charged 4$ and I went I. And they said sorry. Here is 16$ back and that's it.. yes I did get the fine print 200 page disclosure they gave me. But after sitting down with a banker and getting a credit card. They should have told me I'm being charged this.. no one told me.. do not use this bank. Very shady business.. Alright so I didn't give this a fair update the first time around so let's try this again. The only reason why I chose this bank is because it was close to my house and right next to the gym. I used to not really care about my banking because it was the summer and working. I spent money left and right and still had some money to put in my bank. But when I spent way too much, I went into the bank to ask them to help me save money. They have very nifty and good ways to help me save money and kept track of my expenses. Their staff is very helpful and know what they're talking about. True Story: I NEVER USE MY DEBIT CARD. And somehow, my identity was stolen and someone was jacking up my card on random sports betting. They called me immediately and they canceled my credit card. Bottom line: They are very fast and help you when you need it the most. read more

Updated November 2014: We opened an account with Safe Credit Union just at different branch with no problem. Natalie that helped us to open account was so helpful, friendly and just plain human being! Go to her if you want to open account! Kayla (assistant manager) on the other hand was very rude and accusing/assuming things when she talk to me and my husband. Very unprofessional lady. read more

I have been a customer since 2002. I love that they offer free checking accounts. I have had multiple loans with them, with great rates and exceptional customer service. Any financial needs or questions the staff are very helpful with advice. The only reason I did not give them five stars is sometime they are out of deposit envelopes. Now I keep a few in my car just in case. Highly recommend Safe Credit Union as the bank to use. read more

Super great bank! Close to my house, great people, and great service. I've never had any problems with them. This is my favorite SAFE location in the Sacramento area! I drive from West Sacramento to this location when I need to handle any banking that requires a teller. The staff is so patient and are truly the sweetest people. They are all so personable, and you can tell their goal isn't just to get you out the door. Tyler is especially awesome, and the front desk girls are amazing (and gave me an awesome restaurant recommendation)! read more

My card had a fraudulent charge and I was able to get reimbursed the next day. Very pleased with this Credit Union.

I want to express my dissatisfaction with the SAFE home loan team. On 6/29 I reached out to Joe Bloom for help on getting pre qualified for a home loan. It is now 7/11 with no response from him. My wife and I switched to SAFE from B of A due to their terrible customer service. I also have an auto loan through SAFE. I plan to look for a new bank. I'm looking for better customer service, especially when I'm going through a major life event. Don't waste your time with SAFE for home loans or if you appreciate customer service. read more

Opened up a business account 1.5 years ago and I have NEVER been disappointed in this branch! Loui is always on top of his game his people run this place like a well oiled machine! All the tellers are so nice, especially bri, Dominique, Stephanie, and I know I'm forgetting a few more. I love to stop by this branch! And also their business side people are so awesome especially Mrs. Windy! Oh and the front person I totally forgot her name but she has very nice eyebrows, she's also always so nice. read more

Had this bank for a month now and have had nothing but problems with my account. I opened it with a check from the company I was working at and had no problems for about 15 minutes. After that my online wouldn't work and I couldn't get it working because tech support is only available the exact hours that normal people work. Finally I get the opportunity to go down to the bank and ask them about it only to be sitting in the lobby for an hour and a half for a 2 minute fix. So with online finally up and running I deposit my second paycheck at the atm like they told me I could. However they did not inform me that they were going to hold my paycheck for 14 business days before giving me access to the rest. Now I am starting week 5 of having this account when I deposit my check they tell me it's going to be put on another 9 day hold. Same company as the first 2 paychecks, but if I had waited one more day to deposit the check it would have only been a 24 to 48 hour hold. But there is a silver lining, they did tell me if I got and pay another company money to cash my check they wouldn't put a hold on cash. But they also won't reimburse you for that money you had to pay. Customer service won't help at all they just immediately say there is nothing they can do and don't even try. Very highly disappointed with the account and customer service in my first month I wouldn't recommend this bank to anyone. read more

I think the bank is great, free checking account. The only negative is the inconvenient ATM machine.

I have my personal and business accounts with safe and I couldn't be happier. The staff is so friendly and helpful, I love coming to this branch because I am now friends with the whole staff. If you ever get charges that aren't due they will check and make sure you're refunded. I have referred my whole family and staff to safe. read more
