View out our window in June--the park is a lot more filled up in fall/winter/spring.
Tawny A.

Clean, spacious spaces (nice to not be right up against your neighbor), professional and kind staff, good amenities, couldn't have asked for a better place to stay long term. We've had a similar experience as reviewers who don't find the chicken farm smell to be a problem--first, I usually just smell it on summer nights and fewer people are here in the summer heat, and second, when I do smell it, it's more of a hay/barn smell that I don't find too bothersome. The rest of the year I tend to only smell it very faintly if it rains or something. If the potential smell is your only qualm about staying here, I would say go for it! A lot of places in the Phoenix area with nicer facilities are 55+, but fortunately for us, this one is not 55+! Still, this park doesn't seem geared towards loud parties (I haven't heard any since staying here), but there are a lot of activities available for those who are interested--potlucks, line dancing, crafts, bingo, church services, etc. People seem to really like ATVing here too. We enjoy the swimming pool and the exercise room, and there's also tennis courts, a book room, card room, ping pong and pool, and more. It's such a pleasant, clean park, and it's unfortunate that people could be hesitant to come here because of the possibility of a smell when we haven't found that to be an issue.

Destiny RV Resort truly feels like our winter home. The team is amazing -- always so welcoming,…read morehelpful, and genuinely kind. They take such pride in making sure everything is just right. The park is beautifully maintained, priced right, and the service is outstanding. It's rare to find a place that feels this comfortable and cared for.

Stayed at Destiny RV Resort in Phoenix and honestly it was a really bad experience…read more The RV spots are set up poorly. When you park and set everything up, the next person's septic hookup is literally right by your picnic table and grill, like a couple feet away. You can smell it, especially when it gets hot, and it's pretty nasty. The pool is overloaded with chlorine and most of the lights don't even work. I'd say around 70% of the lights are out, including the ones inside the pool, so it just feels poorly maintained. The bathrooms look like they haven't been updated in decades. Everything is worn down and cheap. Even something basic like a toilet paper holder isn't there, the roll just sits on a rail leaning against the wall. The dump area smells terrible, like rotting waste, and overall a lot of the park smells like cigarettes and septic. For $112 a night, it's honestly not worth it at all. This place feels like a 1 star at best and I definitely won't be coming back. Only positive thing I can say is the security guy was really nice.

Cute little RV park in the middle of nowhere, Arizona. We stopped for a quick overnight while…read moretransiting back to Nevada. Definitely resupply before arrival. There's not much around and the fuel station across the road has long since closed. Super friendly staff and nice facilities. The grounds are extremely well-kept. Sparkling clean bathrooms and generous common areas. Wide lanes and easy access for large rigs. The sites are level and a fairly standard spacing for an RV park. We were fortunate in not having neighbors so it felt like we had more space for our short visit. There are no tables or grills at the individual sites which I generally like to see at this price point. The road noise was tolerable. We got a good laugh at seeing a cell tower across the street and thinking we'd have a strong signal. Nope. Just the slightest, unusable trickle on Verizon and AT&T anyway. I had a meeting to call into so upon checkin they suggested the best place to get a strong connection on their wifi was to be in the main building. I still struggled immensely to connect to begin with and then stay connected even in that scenario which was frustrating, obviously. We didn't have a booster then so I'm not sure if it would have been manageable to continue working with one. They have a nice little dog park and our boy was happy to finally stretch his big legs off-leash. I like that they offer a tent camping area as well which many RV parks don't. That's a big bonus in a remote area with few options since I camp in all the varieties of ways -- RV, auto, and motorcycle. It's nice to know this place is here for any of my adventures.

No Military discount which is disappointing. But at this nightly rate, not too bad. We always stay here coming to AZ and leaving AZ in late April. Friendly. Lovely sunsets. Quiet. The only negative is the distance to the trash bins. And hard to find.

Although considered a Hohokam rock art site, This area is on the extreme western edge of the Hohokam cultural area. East of the area, petroglyphs take on more typical Hohokam characteristics, while petroglyphs farther west take on more Patayan characteristics. Found here and in nearby areas of the Gila River are petroglyphs of Archaic origin. The whole area along the Colorado and Gila River has.large amount of indigenous culture from cultural markings to ruins. In terms of more recent Western pioneer involvement this area bears the inscriptions of historic passers-by. Juan Bautista de Anza passed near here during his 1775-1776 expedition, followed by the Mormon Battalion in the 1840s, the Butterfield Overland Mail, and countless numbers of pioneers. During World War II, General George Patton used this area as headquarters for tank training. There's also the Oatman pioneer cemetery. There is little protection for the area from vandals and there is some push to make the area on National Monument.

To get there, just follow the sign. The road is paved but entering the Painted Rock Petroglyph it will be dirt. The entrance fee is $3 and there is a box to pay to get in. It is on an honor system. Along the area, there are desert camping amenities and camping overnight is $8. The Painted Rock Petroglyph Site is magnificent on how the first people who habitat the land recorded their living. There are more recent carvings from people who passed through the site and there are informational plaques around that tell the history of the area.
