Not much to say. If you're driving down the road and you've got to go, this is the place for you. Pretty basic rest stop to relieve oneself. Surprisingly clean inside. Wasn't defiled by graffiti artists or anything. Seemed to be well stocked with toilet seat covers and toilet paper. There was a sign warning about critters and even poisonous critters in the vicinity. Also, a rather large parking area for both cars and semi-trucks or trucks with campers, etc. towed behind them. If you're driving and get tired, please pull in and rest for a bit, that's why it is called a rest stop, right? It was better than expected, rather busy, and very safe. Tonopah, AZ. Nov, 2025. We visited this rest area on I-10 eastbound, traveling from Phoenix to the California border. It's near mile marker 87, about 64 miles west of Phoenix, AZ and 68 miles east of Quartzsite, AZ. The rest area has clean restroom facilities, plenty of parking for vehicles of different sizes (from motorcycles to 18-wheelers), several picnic areas, dog walking area, snack machines behind heavy metal bars, and a water spigot. There are some fun informational signs about topics unique to Arizona --(1) rattlesnakes, Gila monsters, and scorpions. (2) state parks, attractions. (3) fun facts about cacti. (4) and my favorite, the 5 Cs of Arizona: cattle, citrus, climate, copper, and cotton. My understanding is that Arizona allows motorists to stay here overnight, and restrooms are open 24/7; however, it's likely to be very noisy given its proximity to the freeway and the high volume of trucks and traffic coming into the rest area. read more

I pulled off at this rest station to check the vehicle as the tire pressure monitor light came on again during my drive from Lake Havasu City to Phoenix. There was plenty of parking, plenty of room to relax, and the bathroom was available. I saw a bunch of trailers parked and a few cars. read more

I still love and appreciate this rest stop sooo much. I love how it is 98% of the time really clean. I love the aesthetics. It is beautiful. Today was the busiest I've ever seen it. 4 stars It is rare to come across a public rest area that is so neat and clean. And, let me tell you, this place was spotless! They had dog exercise areas on either end of the building. The picnic areas were clean and devoid of creature droppings, dust, or spider webs. The women's restrooms were not the best ventilated and the stall doors were really, REALLY short, but it was still wonderfully clean. Bonus points for having decent toilet paper. read more

Last stop for 30 or 40 miles! Very well maintained and easy in and out. Pretty busy but fast moving.

Nice little rest area between Phoenix and a Blythe. Easy on and off access. The restrooms themselves were clean and fully stocked with soap, warm water, and toilet paper. Very nice compared to those rest areas in California. Perfect place to stretch your legs, walk your dogs, or let your kids get their jumps out. read more

This rest stop is a great place to capture a beautiful desert sunset. Off to the side is an unobstructed view of the desert. Parking is plentiful and people come and go fairly quickly. Getting to this rest stop can be painful if stuck in traffic from Los Angeles to Phoenix due to road construction. I experienced that firsthand and was so excited to get out and stretch my legs. The restrooms in itself is clean and modern. My only feedback would be that there be a sign to enter/exit because people were coming in/out from both doors so it was hard to know who's next in line. This is a well placed rest area . The name is uninviting .... down right inhospitable even , and yet .... the toilet facilities tell a different story . CLEAN TIDY & well Lighted .... this is a welcome oasis when traveling across this barren stretch of desolate desert . Towns are few and far between in the Wild West. It's not unusual for "mom & pop" restaurants or stores to not offer restroom facilities. Often, an official state "rest stop" like this, really is a traveler's best option for a guaranteed quick toilet stop. There are quite specific signs posted that the"pet relief area " is separate from the restrooms & picnic table and VENDING MACHINE area. Pets are not welcome anywhere near the restrooms , so if it is a hot day (every day is around here ) you may encounter a dilemma of who's going to the rest room first , and who's walking the dog ..... also , there are lots of signs posted about watching for poisonous snakes& insects & plants ..... so maybe the unwelcoming name is well deserved after all. read more

This stop was an unexpected one for me. A thunderstorm the likes of what I've never seen before was in full effect, I had to stop and take refuge. The stop was full of truck-drivers and regular cars. Uses blower hand dryers and no mirrors. Large trash dumpsters if you're an RV looking to unload your waste. Water fountain that dribbled water. Might be used for refilling a dog bowl but didn't work for drinking. Stretch & Relax: 5 Large covered picnic tables with good view of mountains and far enough not to get overwhelming interstate noise. Plenty of dog walk space but depending on time of year could encounter a sneaky snake or scorpion. Vending: 2 for drinks/soda and 2 for snacks. read more

Have stopped at many of these rest areas on I-10. Not the best and not the worst out there. It is very small and in the middle of nowhere. Always make sure there is someone with you if you decide to stop because there tends to be strange characters lurking in the parking lots, including this one. read more

Always a great idea to stop and take breaks during a road trip. The next rest stop if you're on the I-10 i probably 40 plus miles away. Great views all around. Easy on- and off from the main freeway/ highways. Lots of parking stalls, cars are separate from trailers and busses. Bathrooms are very clean , no mirror, no paper towels. Soap and push type faucets that shut off pretty much after you're done washing. While I was there, an attendant was busy replacing toilet paper and mopping constantly. There is also a very large pet area but do keep aware of your surroundings. Numerous signs about poisonous snakes and insects! Yikes! Vending machines, as well as several shaded picnic areas. read more

Best thing about this place is the views. There are vast expanses of desert just waiting to be photographed. Like most rest stops, its easy-off, and easy-on, so that's good. The restrooms are fine. Its not in the middle of absolutely nowhere, so if you really need a snack there are places right before , and somewhat after, as I recall, to gas up and grab a bag of Cheetos. So in that sense, its kinda a weird place to put a rest stop. Either which way, I am glad its here and I have snapped a few decent shots of the gorgeous desert from here. This place is so exclusive, that when you check in, it's the ONLY option available. Like...there's nothing else within miles and miles. Even in the middle of the night, it doesn't feel like the type of place in which you'll end up with a fate worthy of horror movies, either.
