When we rolled up, the queue to order was out the door and down the footpath. The seating situation is a bit chaotic; we staked out some standing room in the back room to swoop in on the first table that opened up. Good luck to those not cutthroat enough to seat themselves as soon as an opportunity presents itself. It took a bit of patience and hand-waving to flag down a server to clear the plates of the party that were sat before us, but eventually we succeeded. It took two separate servers two independent trips to rid ourselves of empty plates and glasses and secure a cursory wipe to the sticky table surface. Another ten minutes or so went by before our dishes arrived. I can attest that our fish seemed exceedingly fresh and just out of the fryer. It was flaky, steaming, and lightly battered. Totally believable that it had just come from across the street earlier that day. The chips, however, were disappointingly lukewarm and flaccid. No amount of salt and vinegar could help their case.
