Then I started going here. The difference is unbelievable. Vegetables taste like they used to. Farm grown stuff is just so much better than that hot house, multi vine grown crap you get at the stores. Greens has such a great selection. Produce, fruit, lots of other items, like salsa's, sauces, chips, and tons of other things, and all of it has been really good stuff. Yes, prices are a little higher, but to me it's worth it. Other than the always great tomato's, they always have avocado's that are ready to go, not bright green ones you have to sit on the counter for a week waiting for them to get ripe. They also have a lot of premade stuff, like queso, chicken and potato salads, a reach in fridge full of stuff. They also have a good selection of plants for sale. Just about any produce item, and many fruits, are all here and all quality stuff. Once you start getting produce from here, you'll never buy any mass produced crap from the other stores again. Now, I still buy plenty of food from stores, but yea I guess I'm pretty rabid about crappy corporate produce, lol.

Unfortunately they don't carry small or tiny plants. I picked up some low maintenance plants for home and the office, a golden pothos and a vibrant orange kalanchoe. The plants looked healthy, well watered and appear easy to take care of. The prices are reasonable and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. I'm grateful for another nursery that's not far and I look forward to returning.

On the others side they had all of the trees and bushes, some we've not see elsewhere. They had a Chocolate Mimosa tree that we've been wanting for our lot, tho no price, and we forgot to ask. They had a weeping peach tree, super cool, haven't seen one of those, it had fruit on it as well, tho online sites say the fruit is purely decorative only and not edible. Prices were actually really good, especially on the perineal flowers and the bushes. $8.00 for some of the 1 gallon plants, and all are well grown and healthy. Can beat that price elsewhere. We talked to some of the staff for some time in the office about plants and landscaping, listen to them and them listening to us in regard to our extensive landscaping at our residence. We wanted to see about a Cascade Falls Cypress, which is a weeping cypress tree, they didn't have any in stock, that's no fault of there's, as it's a rare tree that's hard to find, partly because they take years of growth before they can even sale a 3 foot tree. They have a supplier that has them but can't get any until next year. We will return to check on that tree as well as get some other good deals. They have a lot of hardscape items, flagstone, landscape stone, rocks, etc. this is a really nice place.

Most of the things you get from them are half dead and stressed before you get them home. However, A & M nursery plants just blow my mind! I can buy just one plant now and know that when I get home it will have been cared for and it will live in my garden. instead of buying three and hoping one will live. The family is so friendly and anxious to help. The selection is amazing. But the most important thing is the plant material is beautiful and healthy after you get it home and it will continue to live. I can't wait to my next visit!!! PS: if you think their prices are too high, then take a minute and realize how each plant started as a seed or a cutting has been cared for to be the magnificent plants you get to take home. This is a note regarding my experience with the owner of the location when she sent a private…read moremessage and invited us to come back in spring when their inventory is larger as well as to request that I remove a photo that I had placed on the original review. The photo wasn't of anything bad or wrong, it was not misleading or a misrepresentation, it was a legitimate photo of the outside area of the location that she says is shared with a landscaping company, tho what landscape company I do not know. The reasoning stated to me was that the landscaping company didn't want the photo of their area published. The photo was of the locations surroundings just as any Google maps search would provide, so it's not anything that can't be seen anyway. It showed their "shared space" which being "shared" still makes it part of this businesses space which serves as sort of a parking area. The rating on this review is based on the point of contact by the owner to manipulate the initial review by requesting removal of a photo that is a true representation of what is surrounding the business, part of their "shared space", this removes what is also a visual to allow others to find this out of the way place that is not on any main road. I don't feel it is appropriate for a business to private message a Yelp member for the sole purpose of manipulating what is on the review.

I was looking for a Venus Flytrap…read more Somehow I got obsessed with buying a Venus Flytrap plant but I wanted to take my time getting one with a good disposition. Some of them are mean and quick to snap. That led me to Calloway's Nursery which seems to be the only place that carries them this early in the growing season and at a reasonable price. My interaction with the staff was brief but positive. I'm vegetarian so I guess it's kind of weird I would be obsessed with buying a carnivore eating plant but enough of that. I like being able to park very close to the front door and getting your business done without passing by endless aisles of lumber, piping and patio furniture only to find they don't carry Venus Fly Traps. Right now I'm in the process of teaching my Flytrap (Morris is it's name) to not be so discriminatory towards what type of insects it eats. It seems to really enjoy eating fly's but often gives crickets a free pass. Hopefully Calloway's will consider getting in some of the other varieties of Flytraps so I can get another one to keep Morris company when I'm gone.

They had some spring items in tho from what we have at our normally frequented location on Hulen, the selection was a lot smaller. The amount of houseplants seemed very limited, I only say this because this is one thing we look at. The Hulen and Debbie Lane locations both have big houseplant areas along with the seasonal outdoor colors. They did have some small Coleus plants in stock which is a favorite of my wife's. Of course we had to grab a few. It was close to closing time, some of the staff seemed a bit busy. It was worth stopping in to see what they have as not all locations carry the same items.
