I am honored to write this review of Alberto and son Landscaping. From the minute I put a request…read morefor a quote they were not only responsive, but Bryan was so patient as my teaching/ Dean of Students schedule kept getting in the way of our connecting. Bryan kept in touch to accommodate my schedule. The work of Albert, Bryan, and another worker they brought was outstanding. They listened to every request I had and continuously asked that I made sure the work met my expectation. It not only met my expectation but exceeded what I expected. I will also write their responsive professionalism was extremely impressive. An invoice was set by my request ahead of the work and a receipt was immediately sent upon payment. Yet to fully give a review of Albert and son without saying how sweet, nice, and respectful they were would not give you a full picture. With my husband not feeling well and could not come out I felt so secure with these polite and helpful landscaping crew. I cannot wait to have them back!!!! Ah to fully complete a review one should comment on cost and value. This team really understood my financial constraints and stuck to their quote. No hidden charges and totally reasonable charge for beautiful work!!!!

On the day of the job, Rudy and Marlin worked tirelessly for 3 1/2 hours and got a tremendous amount done - trimming multiple hedges and bushes, cutting back an almost dead lilac, power washing the patio (it looks as good as it did 15 years ago when it was installed), cleaning moss, etc. off the garage roof (hadn't been cleaned since I got the house 30+ years ago), cutting up and removing a fallen branch, and power washing a basketball backboard that I wasn't even sure could be reached. They did an excellent job on everything. I couldn't say enough about how great they were!

The team was even able to professionally work around a stoned renter in an apartment building who wanted to tie herself to the tree which was destroying her building's foundation. As an added bonus, the guys were cheaper than the first quote we got. We also used Palmer to prune a crab apple tree. They did a great job on that too.

This was in a heavily wooded area, so it was not easy work -- these trees had to be taken down carefully from the top down, with real skill and judgment. Because this is protected land, care and expertise mattered a lot to us, and Palmer's crew absolutely delivered. They were professional, hardworking, courteous, and clearly experts at what they were doing. We were genuinely impressed with the quality of the work and the respect they showed for the property. Excellent crew, excellent job, and we give them the highest possible recommendation.

I found Golden Hill Landscape through a Yelp search request. Aroldo responded to my inquiry very…read morequickly. We scheduled time for an in-person estimate. He came by, and I gave him an overview of what my condo was looking to achieve. Our front garden was a mess with weeds growing as tall as me. We also had weeds growing along our back yard fence line and a garden where my previous neighbors were planting flowers. The rear garden bed was filled with rocks too. Aroldo advised that his team can remove all of the weeds in the 3 locations, put down fertilizer and mulch and even a cloth to prevent weeds from coming back. He also indicated that he can use the rocks to create a barrier of the garden beds in the front and back. He provided some options, but we ultimately decided on the basic package. He even agreed to transfer flowers over from the back to the front, and promised to remove some branches on the side of the house that was blocking the pathway. His team came and did a fantastic job. My condo neighbors, my wife, and I are so happy with the job that Aroldo's team has done. We have nothing but great praises. We look forward to hiring him again in the future.

After several attempts to just hire Golden Hill Landscaping & Construction (during a bid process),…read moreI finally did. The rates seemed comparable, at first. However, there were many projects to be completed at my deceased mother's house. Because I am disabled and not able to get to the property, I couldn't see how badly I was taken advantage of. Not only did I pay for a job they did not do, I also paid for another job that is unfinished, plus a french drain that is causing a sink hole, and the buried equipment is now above ground. All 3 of these projects pose safety risks. The french drain collapse is only 6 months after installation. After bringing these issues to the owners attention (the unfinished project I'd requested be completed for months), the owner began ignoring me. When I mentioned that litigation was going to move forward, the owner said he'd look at the work that week then blew me off again. When they actually do work, Golden Hill's quality of work is atrocious and will need to be fixed. They broke the house vinyl siding when cutting down a tree branch and refused to fix it. I hired a contractor to fix that. They will overcharge (snowplowing is expensive), take advantage of you if you are a senior or disabled, and will try to get paid without working. They should not be in business and allowed to take advantage. I now have to pay someone else to fix their work, finish their work, and do a $375 job they never did. They've been paid over $10,000, with more work to be done at multiple properties. They agreed to do a quote at a second property, then never showed up. One would figure, with that kind if business, a company would want to perform quality work and respond to a dedicated customer. Aroldo at Golden Hill Landscaping & Construction will do a poor job or not at all, blow off appointments, ignore requests, and refuse to fix problems. He will, however, not hesitate to pick up a check. You should not ever hire them. If you do, be prepared to throw money away.

I told him honestly that I had another quote that was several hundred dollars less than his and asked if he could match it. He came in closer but could take the tree down on Monday. The crew got there Monday morning and took it down just in the nick of time; as the top was lopped off, the tree came down onto a neighboring tree. Luckily, it had been tied down and didn't take down other trees or the electrical lines that were close. The tree was chipped and the crew was done in about 2.5 hrs. Good work. I'm taking a star off because I did get a much better quote that I didn't go with because I had promised the job to Mez.
