Went in to chat with an artist for my idea for a sleeve. First artist said she wouldn't be able to do the work. Ok. Good to know beforehand. Then she recommends another artist. He comes out, looks like he had a rough past...trying to keep an open mind...until he tells me he wants to squeeze a section of the design into an area that it would never fit in & argue with me about the placement. He also said he doesn't work Sundays. Even though he was there. On a Sunday. Glad I left. The location is sketchy too. Woods full of homeless folks behind the shop. Probably the only tattoo shop I'd worry about Hep C from & I've gotten tattoos all over the US. read more

Had my first tattoo done here by Ian, gotta say the experience was awesome and so was everyone that worked there. Was in the shop for over 5 hours had good conversations with everyone and in the end the piece that i got done on my leg was everything i wanted, would definitely recommend to all. read more

I had an appointment made last week with an artist here for 3 $20 tattoos (a special this place was running for the weekend before Christmas)to be done last night. I paid my $60 deposit. I had to read on fb that the artist was no longer associated with the shop. So I contacted the shop. They first insisted that the money I paid was to the artist and not the shop. When I gave my artist the cash for the appointment I saw him walk up to Ryan (the owner of the shop) and give him some of the money. After talking to Ryan, he agreed to keep the appointment (reluctantly), and then kept changing the price of the tattoo. I don't know about you, but I don't want a pissed off artist doing my tattoo... so I agreed to reschedule. Ryan asked if I would come to the shop Christmas night so he could "knock these tattoos out". It was his idea... not mine. Ryan was the most unprofessional person I've ever worked with. He behaved like an irritated child for having to come to work on Christmas... now remember this was his idea to do this tattoo tonight. I asked questions about placement and other things and he became more and more angry with me. Isn't it an artists job to consult on a tattoo before performing the job? I then asked about the cost and reminded him that he quoted me 3 or 4 different prices. He then called me a liar, and acted like he didn't know what I was talking about. Seriously? Ryan refused to give me any of my deposit back. There was NO WAY he was going to come anywhere near me with a needle. So here's the deal. Ryan (the shop owner) took my money. Did not provide service for the money given. Isn't that THEFT OF SERVICE? I told him he could keep the money and started to walk out. Ryan then called me names as I walked out of his shop. So PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE... think twice before dealing with Sacred Art Tattoo's on 6th St in Abilene. Save your money for a professional who cares about their customers. Be sure and get a real consultation before paying the artist any money. Even if it's just for three $20 tattoos. Merry Christmas. read more

He was VERY rude. Told me and my friend that what we wanted was not art so he wouldn't do it. I'm sorry, art is subjective. Customer satisfaction should be the most important. I wanted a small script tattoo and he was going to require me to get it way larger than I wanted. He talked down to us and was condescending. read more

So I went this past Friday to get a tattoo done that was very very simple. I allready had the image I wanted it just needed a tiny alteration. I called and spoke to Jared and explained to him what I wanted and he said to come by the shop. My wife and I went by there and I showed whom I'm guessing was Jared the image which was a combination of the Batman and Wonder Woman symbols. All that was needed was a small black triangle at the bottom for the bottom of the bat symbol. Immediately he started going off about how he was going to have to draw the entire thing out (which was not true cause I had the image on my phone and could have just emailed it or texted it to him) and that meant he would have to be there all night. He asked if we could come back another time. I told him that I really wanted this done at that time cause I work crazy hours. He kinda huffed a little and then asked me where I wanted it and I told him on the side of my calf. He immediately told me it wouldn't look good there and that it NEEDED to go on the back of my leg. I said I wanted where I told him and he kinda rolled his eyes and said it wouldn't look good there and that his JOB was to make it look good. He then asked if I wanted anything other than what I asked for. I said "no this is what I want and I want it right here, it's a very simple tattoo." He just wasn't listening to me and kept going on about if we did this tattoo it would take all night. I then asked for a price and he said "$200 - $250". WHAT!!!! So I asked if that included the 50% off for Fathers Day specials I saw on this page and he said "No, that's just the owner and his wife." The name of the page is Sacred Art not the owner of sacred art's page. We immediately left and found a tattoo parlor that worked with what I wanted and where and took about an hour to do everything including added the small alteration to the picture. He told me it was way simple and that it's the kind of stuff you have an apprentice do and that he couldn't believe that I was done that way. And he did it for way less. I will NEVER step foot into this shop again or recommend it to others. It was the worst experience I've ever had. read more

Did not have a good interaction with the owner. Can't even remember his name. The artists and the guy at the front desk were actually quite helpful but when the guy at the front desk explained my situation to the owner he didn't even try to work with me or give me the time of day as he walked in angrily and went straight to the back. Not a very good customer service place. Only reason I could give it 2 stars was bc the guy at the desk tried very hard to make it work for me and the artists I spoke to were honest and personable. read more

James finally reached out to me saying the tattoo was ready but couldn't send me a picture of it. I told him I wasn't interested and I would find someone else to do it and I wanted my deposit back. I would not recommend this tattoo shop to anyone because they will take your money for a deposit and then fail to do the job and then blame you and keep your deposit.

Very clean and professional. I admit the owner is a little "direct" so he seems condescending but I of all people appreciate a man who speaks his mind. It was my first tat and I asked to see the drawing in advance. He said "It clearly states on the deposit sheet 'No art work provided before appointment'." I get it, while I was there someone brought art from another shop trying to play one shop against another. He says "We are artists we don't work for free" they are worth every penny I paid and more! I appreciate a man who speaks his mind that's what my tat was about after all. Great shop Brad, very satisfied customer! Ian was my artist amazing work! I have been researching artists for over two years to find someone who had a style that was similar to my idea for a tat. His work matched so I pitched my idea. I am a huge fan of Sacred Art and have been for about seven years now. Brad, the owner, is an incredible artist and really cares about what he does. He did a tattoo of the eighties cartoon "My Pet Monster" on the back of my calf. It is an amazing tattoo and overall a fantastic experience. The other guys in the shop do great work as well, and the place is very clean and well taken care of. I started getting work from Brad when I was in the Air Force and stationed at Dyess, but now I live in Austin and I still drive four hours to go see him. That's how good the work is. Overall, the guys at Sacred Art bring a different level of commitment to tattoos in abilene, and I recommend them to all of my friends.! read more

Went in last week with my husband to get a tattoo. After settling in and getting going Ian(our tattoo artist) was very friendly. All the guys in the shop seemed to be having a great time. My husbands tattoo looks wonderful, but mine is missing ink in spots, but not sure why. I received a call from Ian today just checking in on how our tattoos were healing up, I let him know about my concerns about mine. He explained why this could happen and let me know that they do free touch ups. My husband and I plan on going back again to get more work done. All in all the atmosphere was wonderful and the guys were a fun group. I would recommend this shop to anyone who asks. read more

High quality tattoos are hard to come by in Abilene TX, However there is one shop that stands out above the rest. I have been tattooing for several years now and travel the country meeting and working with other artists. Sacred art stands out amongst them all with the quality, professionalism, and love for the craft. I still have clients and family in the area and when Im not able to take care of them I send them to the only shop I trust. I know they will be in good hands there and will receive a top quality tattoo that they will be proud of for years to come. Sacred Art is by far the best place anywhere around to get tattooed. The place is CLEAN. And the artwork is fantastic. Brad the owner who is just an awesome person in general was a blast while I got my tat. I actually picked it out of a book of his drawings he wanted to do as tattoos. I'd been looking for an owl and his was perfect. My tattoo is amazing I couldn't be more happy. The lines the shading...it looks like its airbrushed on my arm or something everything flows so smooth. The gentleman who work here are amazing! The atmosphere is half art gallery and half tattoo parlor. Not "shop" I said parlor. The owner Brad only hires the best of the best. Their art speaks for itself. I saw the first page of their new artist's portfolio and had no concern that he could make my tattoo perfect and he did. The artists are all about making the customer comfortable and care free. Brad did my first tattoo and I was more than nervous but he made sure it was designed and placed perfectly on my body before he ever set up his machine. I will NEVER go anyplace else! read more

In one word Sacred Art is AWESOME. I was stationed at Fort Carson Colorado and had heard phenomenal things about Brad at Sacred Art. I made the 10 hour drive on a long weekend to get some ink done for my newborn daughter before I deployed. As soon as I walked in I knew I made the right choice. Good vibes and amazing atmosphere. Brad is awesome and did a killer job on my tattoo. Everything about Sacred Art screams professional. The 10 hour drive made it worth it. Sean did four pieces on my arms. He was very adamant that we do the art exactly like I wanted and that it turn out looking great. It did!! I was there 5 hours and it was well worth the time he took even staying a little after they were supposed to close. The tattoos are in the photo area of this page. Best shop in Abilene. I've never seen a bad tattoo walk out, and all of the clients I've seen always go back for more, they will do what ever for clients to make sure they are happy and they put their all into the work, amazing and talented. Highly recommend them to everyone. read more

I didn't get my tattoo yet, but it is scheduled with Sean Riley. The shop is clean and the people are nice. It is a firy rose and he drew it just for me to have inked. He even sold me the original picture, but I'm getting the tat next tuesday read more
