Gotten my septum pierced here twice (not for their fault but mine) about 3 years ago. They helped me fix my problem so I did not need to get it for a third time. Misty was amazing. Recently got my nose pierced (by another shop) and I was getting a bump and then accidentally pulled out the piercing during sleep, could not get it back in due to pain or out due to build up from my bump. But it was a blessing in disguise because it was the wrong piercing to start with (to short actually angled wrong) and was causing my issues. Misty helped me get the right piercing. Gave me great instructions on how to heal it and told me to come back if needed. Also answered some questions had about other piercings. Highly recommend going there for your next piercing. Plus I just love the atmosphere there and loved Misty's style for sure. read more

I went to "Fear Factor Tattoos and Piercing" about eight weeks ago to have a stud placed in my nose. Misty did such an outstanding job! I was nervous and she Was so professional that it soon put any fears to rest! Misty is amazing; there was barely any pain involved! The instructions I was given to take care of the piercing was very detailed and she went over them with me. It's eight weeks later and I have to say I never experienced any pain or infection and it healed so quickly! I thoroughly enjoyed my experience there and cannot say enough positive things about "Fear Factor"! I highly recommend going there if you have a piercing that you want! Misty is a good piercer. She did my smiley and nipples. She recently pierced my belly button but was put way too high and didn't have room to heal. I'm an understanding person and know people make mistakes, it's still frustrating tho because I've wanted this piercing for the longest time. I had to take it out and let it heal. read more

He made sure he understood exactly what I wanted but offered up many suggestions as how go make my tattoo look it's best. went to buy jewelry. the jewelry did not fit my ears so i went to return. i could not return due to the policy, which was fine. however when the manager came to speak to me, she was very nasty and got very loud with me. she claimed i cut her off while she was speaking and began to get into my face. 0/10 for customer service. wish i could support this business but i cannot. the manager was blond, very tall and had dermal piercing in face. I've been to many tattoo shops and i've never had a bad experience, until now. I walked in looking to buy jewelry but the manager there seemed annoyed at me for asking a question. I ADDED AN UPDATE AT THE END. It's a rebuttal, to a negative review I saw posted below. It's MY personal thoughts and opinions, I do not in any way represent this shop, and I do not work for this shop in any way, other than being a client of Richards. So if anyone gets upset about what I say in the comment, take it up with me, not Richard, Misty, or anyone who works at this business. Now, on to MY personal thoughts, and MY personal opinion, on the matter of the lady who gave this shop a one star review. (Its way down at the bottom, I'm doing this while eating a really AWSOME quesadilla, at Alfredo's on 14th, yea I get around like that) As a collector of tattoos, I can honestly say Abilene is virtually blessed to have this shop in town. Richard is by far, one of the best artists in the United States, he won't admit it, but he is a humble man. The shop itself is extremely clean, well kept, and is a very modern shop. Richard and his wife AND son, run the shop, some of the nicest people you will meet in Abilene. It's by the hour, which is the way a shop should charge, I still don't understand how shops in small towns can still scam people with that by the inch or square crap. Your getting permanent art put in your skin, not having a wall painted... And I will argue that point with anyone that wants to take it up with me.. I only had some small work done on my fingers by Richard, when I get him to do my next large piece will add photos. Well, maybe I will drop in to the get the ink "recharged" soon, then post some pics, it's not his fault, ink in your fingers is hard to pack in, and after a few years it fades, just being the privileged white man I am, my skin holds ink forever, I'm just lucky like that, but finger skin is another story. That's it for now, back to food and waitress reviews. ------------my reply to mrs one star----------- So, I'm sitting in Alfredo's, eating a pretty AWSOME Asada quesadilla, looking back through my Yelp history, and out of curiosity as to why this shop isn't a straight 5 stars, I scroll through the review history, and low and behold, I find the reason why. This person, had gotten a dermal piercing in her chest, a pretty ballsy move for a girl, who looking at her photo, probably doesn't even have the small town tramp stamp on her lower back, well now that I think about it, she probably does have the tramp stamp. Regardless, a dermal piercing, is one of the most likely piercings, aside from maybe implants in the forehead, or implants or piercing in your genitalia. Meaning, you need to be extremely careful, and use extreme care in cleaning, your hygiene must be close to that of a heart transplant operating room, or you will get an infection, inflammation, lots of swelling, maybe even puss that will make the area smell like the butthole of an elephant. Also, being the judgmental prick I am, seeing she has 0, possibly one tattoo hidden from her grandma, and 0 other piercings, I'm also going to use those assessments, and say she had no idea what she was getting into, when she got this, what I would call, advanced level piercing. Much like these idiots I see, who get a tattoo on the hand or even face, as a first tattoo. You just don't do that, it breaks many cardinal rules, of not just the body modification or body art subculture, but just common sense as well. I'm going to bet, a fresh $100 bill, she probably got this piercing, and went straight out to show it off to all her friends, probably even went out drinking most of the night, smoking or in a smoke filled environment... I enjoyed my experience today at Fear Factor. Setting up an appointment with Robert was super easy. Richard was my artist and he explained what he thought would look best and did an excellent job. I wasn't expecting to be so happy with a tattoo but I totally am. Richard took his time on every detail and was very focused on his work. There's even a sign to not disturb Richard while he is tattooing because he's so focused!!! Mark, the other artist tattooed my wife at the same time and did an excellent job as well. I just overall enjoyed my experience. The lady who does piercings (missed her name) took well over fifteen minutes to explain in detail to a young lady how a dermal piercing works. Had a tattoo done many years ago from a different artist in a different state and I was never happy with it. Finally made the decision to get a cover up. Went to Fear Factor and talked to Richard. We discussed what I want and my ideas. Richard was up front and gave an honest opinion about what would and wouldn't work for my cover up. Paid a deposit and then set an appointment. Richard was extremely professional, charged by the hour and when he wasn't working, the timer stopped. He got down for 5 hours and I believe he could have sat there for several more, but I was reaching my tolerance. He's not heavy handed and I am absolutely impressed with the work he's done. Misty did a dermal on my chest. Apparently her equipment was not clean because I woke up the next day in severe pain because it was infected. I went in to get it removed because the pain was so bad. When misty took it out she wanted to put it back in but I refused. I was not satisfied with my experiences at all and will not go back. read more

I was offered a warm welcoming while stepping in here. It immediately smelt/looked sterilized. They accepted my piercing requests unlike other shops. My piercer, Misty(?), was wonderfully easy to work with, understand, and trust. Even without an appointment, I was able to get in within an hour after walking in. I've been there once. And will never ever go back. Terrible work. I had to go somewhere else to get it completely redone, because the work was so poorly done. And they tried to blame it on me taking care of it poorly. (Which isn't true) I have multiple tattoos and they all turned out great besides the one Richard did. The ink didn't stay and he was rude and said he didn't take tattooing seriously until a year ago. I also know a few other people who got tattoos there and he over saturated the tattoo and it looked horrible. They are all getting their tattoos covered up or removed. If I could give them 0 stars I would. Sorry not sorry. read more
