Dawn also made our wedding dessert dreams come to life with an assortment of desserts that were just as beautiful as they were delicious. Beyond the food, their professionalism, presentation, and display were unlike anything I have ever seen. Everything looked amazing, ran smoothly, and felt so thoughtfully done. I genuinely cannot imagine our wedding weekend without them. I did not know where to turn to begin to create a perfect evening to honor my wife, but I was blessed to discover Hawaiian Luau OC. From my first conversation with Steve, I instantly knew that I made the right choice. It was like talking to a friend from the first word, and I could tell he was fully invested in doing everything possible to make this evening memorable in every way. He even offered to prepare samples of his food and bring them to my home for my approval. Who does that anymore?!? On the day of my wife's celebration, Steve and his staff arrived right on time and set up a wonderful Hawaiian style buffet that was beautifully decorated. Every item of food they provided was absolutely delicious and perfectly prepared. I have been receiving compliments for two weeks from my guests saying the smoked pork was, "the best I've ever had" and the teriyaki chicken was so tender that it was like, "the filet mignon of chicken." The downsides were the quality of the carnitas and pollo. The carnitas seemed dry and was chopped into large cubes. The pollo was shredded and mixed in with equal amounts of bell pepper and onion. The best meat was clearly the carne asada, which was completely gone by the end of the event while the other two remained. We gave away the leftovers because they were mediocre. The horchata was good, but the agua fresca was barely sweet and kind of lacking in flavor. I have sampled many taco bars at various events over the years. Overall, I was surprised that this company had a rating of 5 stars on both Yelp and Google. For a price of a little over $1200, it felt quite expensive and like we were mainly paying for the delivery and quantity of food. Friendly and prompt service, but somewhat disappointing product.
