It's the greatest post-midnight, post-clubbing, mid-studying-cramming snack ...ever. I'm specifically thinking of El Taurino... ...but I digress. We need more taco trucks! When we drove by La Cascada, we thought we'd give it a try. Two asada tacos ("...hey hey... psst! What are tostadas?" "Just get the tacos... or google it!") and one shredded beef variety with everything (tomatoes, cilantro, etc) were ordered and quickly consumed. We chose the creamy green salsa and pretended to know what it was as we slathered it all over our tacos. Fantastic. The tacos could have used a little bit more meat and filling but overall, they were quite tasty. Mmm... tacos. If I'm ever in the area, I'll be back!

The salsas were all homemade and fantastic. Three types. I had both lamb and chicken tacos which were outstanding. Hard to describe but many, many levels above the usual taco trucks. Full of flavors and nuances far beyond the standard fare. Very much like a Teocalli tacos if you've ever had one. Very gourmet. Lastly, the Elote, which was prepared perfectly. And all was at a price point similar to the average taco trucks. Incredible. Will follow this truck and patronize it many times.

They also gave me both a red salsa and a green salsa. Both were flavorful with a nice kick, and I appreciated that. The biggest disappointment was that the burrito was mostly rice and beans with only a small amount of carne asada. To me, a true San Diego style carne asada burrito is all about the meat, with diced carne asada, onions, cilantro, pico de gallo, and guacamole. This stand doesn't have avocado or guacamole, so it just doesn't have that classic flavor. One other thing I noticed was the way the burrito was wrapped. It was more square than the long, tightly rolled burritos you usually see. Not a big deal, just something that stood out. I'd probably give them another try, but if you're looking for an authentic San Diego style carne asada burrito, this isn't it.

I went with the carne burrito and it was delicious! Ordering was quick and the staff were very accommodating. The burrito was pretty hefty and you can't beat food truck prices. Many Coloradoans opt for restaurants and local favorites but honestly those don't compare to many places like SoCal. This truck has all of these favorite brick and motars beat. The steak was well seasoned and tender while beans, rice, cilantro and salsa round out the burrito. Flavors meshed really well to create the perfect meal.

I didn't know what I wanted but saw Las Fresas so it was decided. I am so glad that we came here. We ordered Elotes, which was so amazing. It's corn with butter, mayo, and spices. So delicious! We also ordered Dorilocos - Doritos with pig skin and sour cream. The watermelon aqua fresca I ordered was amazing and delicious. We also ordered shrimp ceviche tostadas, which were really yummy too. They did have a lot of sauce on them so some people may not like them due to the amount of sauce. Because of our order, they offered to give a drink on the house so we ordered a mocha coffee smoothie, which was wonderful as well. The customer service here was amazing. We were greeted instantly and when we said we had never been there, they offered their opinions. I am so glad I finally visited this neighborhood gem. I can't wait til I got back again!

So good I forgot to take a picture! I was literally the only person there not fluent in Spanish, and everyone still included me in their jovial chatter, kindly not laughing at my pronunciation of their language and helping me along. A classic street food experience with amazing tacos. I grabbed some Asada, Carnitas, and Tripa. And took a California Friend back the next week, and even HE raved about them!! (And you KNOW how those snooty californians can be!! haha) Seriously. If you're on Federal and want a bite, look for the Tacos Menny Truck. You won't be disappointed!

These wild and different approaches to feed the public, are what brought me to this food truck. Tacos El Reydesel serves mainly Mexican food; this truck is unstoppable!! Hot Cheetos Burritos, Pizzadillas and Birria Fries are served aside the traditional Mexican foods served in almost every other food truck out there. Recently, I stopped by for their Valentine's Day specials: -Heart Platter #1 : 12 Tacos with roses in the middle, salsas, onion, cilantro & limes on the side. With our famous HORCHATA LOCA -$40 (Meats: Birria,Asada) -Heart Platter #2 : 12 Tacos with roses in the middle salsas, onion, cilantro & limes on the side. With two Conchas Locas & our famous HORCHATA LOCA I chose Heart Platter #2, because it included the Conchas Locas AND the Horchata otherwise. Apparently, we had to make sure to place our order before the 12th! DEPOSITS ARE REQUIRED! The tacos were shaped into an actual heart, which showed some creativity. These 5 roses were placed on top of the carefully decorated tacos and looked very classy for a catering type of event. Our conchas came in pastel pink and hot pink shaped breads with the bread shaped in a heart itself. I thought that was super unique and just adorable! One of my favorite food trucks indeed.
