This is how we left the bowls.

We traveled to New Orleans from LA and we were feeling like enjoying some decent Honduran food. However, we ended up at this horrible place because we noticed it had 5 stars, DO NOT let that fool you. To begin with, I ordered my favorite meal for this chilly weather: seafood soup. Long story short, The worst soup I have ever tried; it tasted like water with salt and some coconut milk to add color I guess. I literally ate three spoons of it and proceeded to let the waitress know that I wasn't satisfied with how my food tasted. My friend ordered another soup and had the same issue as well as my 4 other friends who ordered Pollo con Tajada. Note that they are Honduran and cook this dish all the time; the chicken was awful and flavorless. We spoke to the cook and the owner I guess, they were so rude and basically said that they cannot please every taste and that 95% of their customers were satisfied with their food so that the dissatisfaction of 6 new customers matter nothing. She went ahead and charged us in full, even though we barely touched our soups. The worst part is that the owner told the waitress to remove the gratuity from the check, are you serious??? Are you seriously as an owner going to take away the hard-earned money from your waitress rather than removing, at the very least, one of the soups from the check???? If you travel to New Orleans do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY from this horrible place and save yourself a massive headache. P.S: The waitress who dropped off the check at the table was literally having a conversation on the phone when she approached us... STAY AWAY.

(Left) Beef soup with some potatoes, cabbage, corn and other veggies with side of rice, corn tortillas Top right baliadas with everything

Super yummy wait time is very short no more then 15 min every bite had me wanting for more. Both baliada and beef soup tasted awesome. My pineapple soft drink made a perfect sync with my beef soup. I wish I had a location with this taste back home in central Florida!!

The Absolute BEST Honduran food you will find in this area. My Favorite dish is the Pollo con Tajadas, but I also love their Baleadas, and their Carne Asada, and pretty much everything I've tried.

Mondongo is the best! I just don't tell my mom it's better than hers. She's Honduran.

They are a small and quaint storefront establishment, friendly, practicing social distancing and have a plastic partition separating staff from customers. Also, seating capacity is limited and tables are blocked off from use. Because I absolutely love Spanish food, particularly tacos lol, I popped in to check them out. I was hoping I'd find what I love in Miami and it's the Papas Rellenas aka (Fried Stuffed Potatoes). It's a Cuban dish but they are so doggone good. They have this savory and flavorful seasoned ground meat stuffed inside a ball of mashed potatoes and when I tell you they are the bomb, believe me lol. Needlessly to say, they are Honduran and do not cook Cuban dishes lol. However, I'm planning to come back and check out their dishes for either lunch or dinner. I'm eyeing the Burritas Catrachas (the Yelp Spanish event is working me lol). Check them out if you're in the area!

When I arrived me and my friend were in a good mood until the waitress walks up to us with an attitude, I asked for a certain drink and she shrugs and points to the fridge and says " all that in there is all we have " I got aggravated but I leg it go! I was trying to see what was in the fridge but I couldn't see. After my friend orders her food , I start telling her what I would like and she looks at me and stops and says "so you want what she wants ? " and I proceed to tell her "what ? I don't even know what she ordered I was looking at the menu" and she proceeds to tell me her order , like I cared ??? her order was different from what I wanted. So I tell her " I want the plate just like how it come off the menu" and she walks away. This place not only feels DIRTY inside but has HORRIBLE HORRIBLE rude miserable service!!!! I left after I couldn't stay and enjoy my food with horrible customer service. I WILL NEVER COME HWRE AGAIN

Check-in was a little chaotic...the hostess seemed overwhelmed and kept insisting that our whole group needed to be present, even though we were all there, just browsing the thrift shop across the street while waiting for our table. We ended up waiting about 15-20 minutes past our reservation time, but given how busy it was, we were grateful to have a reservation at all! To start, I ordered a Bloody Mary, which was so tasty and even came with a piece of delicious chicharrón which was such a great touch. My boyfriend and I shared the lox and the Alma breakfast. The salmon on the lox was fresh, but the portion was a little small for the price. The Alma breakfast, on the other hand, was great especially the beans. Wow! So much flavor. Easily the best part of the meal. My boyfriend and I were literally fighting over the last bites! Before leaving, we decided to try the tres leches cake. This version was a bit different from others I've had since it was on the drier side, served in a bowl of milk. An interesting take, and I really enjoyed it! Perfectly sweet without being overwhelming. While it wasn't my favorite tres leches ever, it was still a solid dessert. Overall, I definitely recommend this place!

It was busy at lunchtime, but it gave us time to reflect on the hard work that led to two of my daughters matching in great residency programs. Two years ago, we also celebrated another amazing match day with a friend who flew in from San Francisco to help our family celebrate. I had the San Pedro Maduro. A deep fried plantain filled with veggies, black beans, avocados, crema and queso. I had mine with chicken. One of my daughters did hers with more veggies. Absolutely delicious! My family ordered a wide variety of papusas and tacos. Definitely add an agua Fresca. Loved the horchata, but the favorite was the moracuya. Blackberry and passion fruit. So refreshing and delicious. Muchas gracias for welcoming our family and friends into your cocina familiar. We loved enjoying your family's kitchen on a special day celebrating another chapter of our family's journey. #2800

I've been wanting to hold back on this review because I swear every time I go, there's so many people ordering takeout or dining it! It very much is getting the attention it deserves. I will say, pricier than your other honduran joints but this one is worth it. You can taste the love and fresh ingredients they pour into this place. If you can, go with a group of people so you can try a bunch of dishes. You seriously cant go wrong with anything on the menu but my favs are: Mega Baleada with carne asada and their pupusas! I've had the pastelitos, enchildas hondurenas, combo miramar, combo lempira. Note: Anything that mentions Hondurenas (tacos and enchiladas) they're different than your typical Mexican style!**
