Homey roadside restaurant with good seafood options. I would've been tempted to try their take on pasta had it not been such a hot day.
My partner and I found Sabor a Mar walking through Zipolite. The dirt floor and corrugated metal roof gives it a rustic charm; meanwhile blasting lively Spanish and English rock songs. The staff are polite and direct.
GUACAMOLE DE CHICHARRÓN DE PULPO: Tiny fried chunks of octopus atop a bed of guacamole! The octopus I thought was delicious, but the guacamole a bit bland. Maybe could've used a bit more salt/lime.
CAMARONES SABOR A MAR: Fresh, well-seasoned shrimp! So tender and savory. I thought the salad and potatoes were a bit bland, I found myself dipping them into the complimentary salsa for more oomph.
English-friendly menu available. Perhaps a bit more subdued for tourist tastes? Still a good option for good food and large portions in this area.
NOTE: Variety of ATMs available near the entrance. read more
