Sure, it has the things you'd expect from a service area on the Garden State Parkway--gas, clean restrooms, convenience items, and a food court with several dining options--but it's also a surprisingly fun place to stretch your legs for a few minutes. The Bon Jovi theme is everywhere. Music videos play throughout the building, memorabilia and displays line the walls, and the whole place feels more like a tribute to one of New Jersey's most famous musicians than a typical highway stop. Don't be surprised if you see people taking photos of the displays while they're there. On a recent stop, I found it clean enough and easy to navigate despite the steady stream of travelers coming through. Standard rest area prices...ouch. Whether you're grabbing a coffee, picking up a quick meal, or just taking a break from the road, it's a pleasant place to stop. It's still a service area at the end of the day, but it's one with a little personality. If you're driving the Parkway and need a break, this is one of the more interesting places to make it. Oh...did I mention they have a Popeye's?!
