Do not let the look of the outside of this place deter you from going in. It's in a mini strip…read moremall, but the food is awesome! Large portions, Sushi is freshly made, the Thai food is delicious with a touch of heat. The service is spot on. They offer take out as well as dine in. What could improve? Everything. I saw it had great reviews and decided to go for my birthday…read moredinner. The server/hostess was very abrupt in manner and seemed almost annoyed with us for being there. Everything was sticky: the menus with crumpled pages, the tables, the bathroom floor. It had kind of a crummy cafeteria vibe with drop ceilings and crappy laminate tables and 80s middle school tile floors and stacking chairs. I'm normally all for a hidden strip mall gem but this was not it. My partner ordered a spicy roll combo and asked the server if they were spicy/crunchy and she said they all had the panko crunch in the mix. What he got had zero spicy and zero crunchy. The rolls were minuscule, sloppy with a tiny chunk of fish in the middle and nothing else. The yellowtail was super fishy and tough. He didn't even finish his meal. I ordered two special maki and they were both sloppily presented. The server never cleared a single plate from underwhelming appetizer through the meal. She came through regularly with her noisy Rubbermaid cart with peoples' meals on it, even if it was a single plate one-handed carry and the lower shelves of the cart were empty and could have housed dirty dishes. And the pièce de résistance was it was wildly overpriced - perhaps some of the most expensive sushi I have ever had and I have had grocery store sushi that was better. Then I came home and was in the bathroom for literal hours after my stomach started feeling dodgy after eating. 1/5 food 0/5 service -20/5 ambiance Just absolutely not it.

The Stadium earned its 5 star review!…read more We were absolutely exhausted (in the best way) after a full day of hiking Acadia, and need me a pick-me-up before our sunset hike and dinner. When we checked out Yelp and saw the love for The Stadium, we knew we had to check it out. The best part about it was the abundance of lattes and other coffee options. We had fluffernutter and chocolate peanut butter flavored lattes, but were also on the fence about the pumpkin spice latte, the s'mores latte, and a few other flavors too. There was also massive cookies that we didn't get the chance to try. But, we'll almost certainly be back again tomorrow. These coffees were awesome!

We come to Bar Harbor every year and every time we're here we look forward to the popovers from The…read moreStadium. They're absolutely delicious when still warm and fresh out of the oven and they bake them pretty much all day, so they're just about always fresh. One of my favorite ways to enjoy them over the years was to get the maple butter and blueberry jam and mix the two. The flavors of the butter, maple and blueberry all complimented the savory flavor of the popover. However, this year I was disappointed to see that they no longer are offering the maple butter, even for an upcharge. Please bring this back, it really took the popovers to another level! Maybe whip it into thawed butter instead of hand mixing it to make it easier? The whipped butter is easier to dip in and spread anyway. The new pre-packaged / mass produced butter packs take away from the appeal of a freshly-made popover. Sometimes in the morning it can be a little crowded in here with people waiting for their coffee / drinks to be made by a counter not far from where you place your order, so if you're walking in and haven't ordered yet then check if the people standing around are just waiting on coffee or waiting to order. It would be a nice improvement to see some separation (maybe with some ropes or floor markings) to make it more clear who is in line to order and who is waiting for their beverage to be made. It's worth noting it's takeout only and there's nowhere inside to sit, but there are some benches just outside on the sidewalk where you can have your popover and coffee.
