I absolutely hate this place. I used to go here before Mahrose Salon opened up in downtown Des Plaines because the other places to get eyebrows threaded were farther. Everytime I came here the skin by my brows was cut up. If by chance the phone rang she would keep threading my eyebrows while talking on the phone. There have been many times where my eyebrows became too thin or where both of them were not the same shape. When I brought up these things to her, she would just say "no they are good". Thank God I have another option now and they are great! read more

I've been coming here for a few years now. I only go for the eye brow threading. $5, and you are in and out. Yes, they kind of rush, and are not exactly what I would call "friendly". Occasionally, I'll get a smile and greeting out of them, but for the most part, they are all business. Personally, I do not really tell them what to do, because I'm not super picky. I just tell them to clean up my brows, and they do so perfectly. FYI, they are closed on Monday. read more

I will agree with the other reviews that the people who work here are rude, but I'm a regular here because you can't beat $5 for getting eyebrows done. They always do a good job... admittedly even when they rush through you to get to the next person. I've grown a accustomed to it though people who go to higher end places most likely would not. I've been to several other threading places including Deepti's and Bhabhi's but I always come back here. I like it here because it's quick, cheap and they get the job done. read more

I been a customer for almost two years and I bought a pair of contacts in the past years and never had a problem but on Friday I bought some contacts and one of them was ripped and I called and the owner said she can't do nothing about them and hung on me. Never again I will go to a place that! read more

I walked in and they took me right away ! And a person I know always gets them done here and they always turned out really good ! My first time coming in they took me right away and so that was good ! It was quick and affordable but one of my eyebrows came out uneven. Don't know if I'm coming here again read more

I have been getting my eyebrows threaded here for years now, and I would recommend them to anyone who asks. (with a few warnings) Positives: 1) The most obvious is that they are extremely affordable, only 5 dollars (I also give a dollar tip). 2) I always pay in cash, but I believe they take both cash and credit, which is convenient. 3) They go quickly but do a good job, so you are in and out. My Tips: -I understand why some reviewers think that the employees are rude, because they definitely don't speak much. It may be a bit off-putting for your first time, but it is more of just a bad first impression. The same two women work there every day when I go in on the weekend and are quiet but are still friendly and have always helped me if I needed something. -They do move quickly, but it has never really resulted in a low-quality job. They know what they are doing and just work to get everyone in without a long wait. If you do feel that they missed something or should fix something, however, just let them know, and they will do as you ask. (at least it has always been this way for me) **I do definitely suggest waiting for the younger woman, though, because she does a much better job, overall, than the older one. The younger one also seems to take her time more, which seems to make for a better finished product. Overall, I definitely admit that this is not the best place to go if you are looking for a friendly person to chat with while they work on you and take their time. They do, however, still do a very good job for a low price and you are done in minutes, which is what I prefer, so that is why I keep going back. I always get compliments on my eyebrows and I don't have to put any time or effort to get them. **Also, if you go here, there is barely space for three cars out front, so just drive to the next side street and park there. It is a short block to walk, not a big deal. read more

I just went. I love the shape. Good deal of $5. Opened on Sundays! She was fine, real quick. If you are going to a place for luxury, then this isn't it. But they do a good job and get you in and out in no time. Parking is kinda difficult, but you can find street parking down the street. I'm going back. read more

I've been coming here for about 8 years now. I specifically go to Jay for my eyebrows because she knows I like a fuller brow. I recently started also doing henna with the eyebrow threading and it has been a complete game changer. I love how my brows look every single time I come here to get them done. It also helps that they are so inexpensive. read more

I went here once to get my eyebrows threaded. Their prices were really cheap -- $5 for eyebrows! But the people at the salon were rude and did not take time to listen to me or ask me what I wanted. I think I'd rather pay a bit more and get what I want next time! read more

I got my brows threaded and upper lip waxed at Saba's today and it was good. No fuss.... Liked what she did. It was a Thursday eve and there was no wait. I would go back. read more

Sabas was the original $5 eyebrow threading place in Des Plaines. The place has been packed since they opened! You cant beat $5 eyebrows, they do a great job, but the employees are just plain rude. I cant help but repeat what everyone else has said , but it is true. The ladies do not listen to you...they just assume that you want a simple eyebrow thread and that is that. I prefer to get my eyebrows waxed BEFORE the threading because I think the threading hurts too much. I had to literally stop the lady from going at my eyebrows with the thread just to get her to listen to me explain that I wanted them waxed! Then...she basically pretended to wax my brows to appease me then threaded everything anyways...im not sure why though. Also, if you havent had your eyebrows threaded before...tapping you on your eyebrow might not register to an eyebrow virgin that you should "assume the position" of holding your lid closed! I think that if they dont recognize you, they need to explain what they want to you do!! read more

I have written a review for Sabas before and I need to write another one. I love this place. (OK, the decor is not current/updated, but who cares). The owner does an amazing job with shaping eye brows and waxing. But even better: she styles hair beautifully. I simply take a picture of what I want and she does it exactly like the picture. And it is super affordable!! This place is a hidden gem. read more

This place is somewhat old but they do a very good job in eye brow threading an also waxing, they also do brow tinting.Really like this place. read more

I went to sabas for the first time and thought it was wonderful. The lady was nice to me, not rude like others have said. It also hurt much less than another place I had tried for threading, who also charged much more ($12). I will return and have told others to go read more

I was a regular at Sabas but now i'm going to go to Mahrose instead because the one lady that I like and does my eyebrows really well is never around and I get stuck with her older co-worker that doesn't do as well as a job or I get a new person and they don't do a good job either. If you go to Saba's, ask for Dimple because she is the best employee at that store. read more

I was happy to see this place so close to our new house ( just moved to the area) and I went to check it out earlier this week. I had read some of the reviews but I figured, what the heck, all I wanted was some threading. I walked in and there was a small wait so I didn't mind. Then people started to pile in. Once it was my turn, the woman just started to thread before even asking me what I wanted. And as the people waiting started to accumulate, I started to feel more and more rushed. I've been doing threading for over 15 years and I've never felt this unhappy. When she was "done" she said "ok look" and as I started to get up from the chair, she was already calling "next". I was so annoyed that I just paid and left. When I looked in the mirror at home, I noticed how bad the job was done and how there was still very visible hair where she was threading which I ended up just plucking out anyways. I felt it was such a waste of time and money and that is disappointing since I always opt for supporting local small businesses. I will not be coming back here for sure. read more

At this place you can get all tyoes of beauty care done-- hair, eyebrows, and even henna! They do a good job, especially eyebrows. However, the people here can be rude at times. They dont really listen to their cutsomers. read more

I've been going to Saba's for 8 years now and I love how they do my eyebrows. I always go to Dimple because she knows how to arch my eyebrows correctly and clean them up very nicely. You guys should definitely go to her! read more
