Super chill vibe here, as you might imagine. There are boards to check out, a Photo Booth, some artisan crafts and Saba merch, too. The space is divided between the cafe and the board shop, though the cafe gently spills over to the shop without an issue. I've had the coffee there a couple times. To go and 'for here'. Each way brightened my day. The coffee was straightforward, strong and flavorful to my taste. They also have matcha drinks. There were a number of pastry options, too. I tried the chocolate banana bread once and it was super moist. A bit intense in flavor, but that only meant I had to eat it more slowly than I otherwise would. Saba Surf is a comfortable place with tables and chairs, couches and even a counter top to gather yourself. read more

I've been to Saba Surf a couple times now for their coffee and the biscuits in the back from Pa's. I don't surf but do frequent Venice and love the surfing vibes here! It's a fun shop with some coffees, matchas, and just overall good vibes. Staff is always friendly and there is seating inside, as well as in their super chill backyard area. Was not expecting this. I think I found my new favorite coffee spot on the west side (or even maybe in all of LA?)! Full stop: the coffee was actually my favorite part of the cafe. That almost never happens, at least for me. I had an iced oat latte with an extra shot so really got to taste their espresso and it was perfect - not too acidic and just the right amount of sweetness. Next, they have an outdoor space that's super dog friendly. YAY! Staff is super down to earth and personable. I ended up buying the banana bread and it was delicious. Rich, moist, and a generous size for a single slice. (Can be split between /for two!) I also liked the crowd. Saba Surf is a fun laid back vibe in Venice with couches and a cute backyard area where you can have an ice bath if you choose. We hung out in the back talking for a couple hours and relaxing in a comfortable overcast day. They have polaroids of dogs who have visited! And the heart in the coffee was cute! Not having too much expectation on my first visit as I was thinking it was just a 'lifestyle cafe', being a surf-themed shop, I was surprised that they did serve pretty decent coffee with creative menu twist. Also I was impressed how the place really looked like a community spot with the barista knew tons of the guests and was very friendly. The place was also giving chill cool vibes with open patio at the back and plenty of seats at the indoor space. I got to try one of their special latte, which I completely forget the name, but if memory served me right serving something with salted maple. They also seemed to be quite popular with their coconut water latte and cream tops! read more

I was disappointed with my experience. My coffee was served cold, and when I politely asked if it could be remade, I was told that it "wasn't their problem." I then asked for a refund instead, and rather than trying to resolve the situation, I was told I had to leave the premises. I wasn't expecting anything unreasonable--just a hot coffee or a refund for a drink that wasn't served as expected. The lack of customer service and professionalism was very disappointing. read more

I have always passed this place and just thought it was a surf shop so I didn't think much of it. However recently I've had a hobby of discovering new local coffee places and this place was recommended. I took a chance and tried it out and man, it looks pretty cool. Gives a laid back surf shop\coffee shop vibe. Definitely fits the Venice/Mar vista vibe. Also the place is really dog friendly and it has a back section outside for people to chill with their dogs and enjoy their beverage. Lastly, the coffee. Cafe on Venice across from Bluey's near Venice high school. It's 80% cafe and 20% surf shop with random clothing and hats. Chill atmosphere. Standard coffee options that are well made. A few pastries but nothing elaborate. No other food options. Service is always friendly and positive. For work, WiFi is fine and the music is not too loud. Inside is pretty comfortable although seating is limited if you want to work. Venice high kids can take over from time to time during their breaks. Parking on the street is metered or find a spot in the neighborhood and walk a bit. read more

Ordered a cold brew with cold foam and it straight up never came out. Had to go up and ask after 20 minutes and when I got it was so bad, lowkey undrinkable. This place has been such a perfect new addition to the neighborhood. The surf/coffee shop combo has a fun energy to it, enhanced by the variety of cool events and pop-ups they host every week. All of the drinks I have tried have been excellent, and the variety of indoor and outdoor seating offers an enjoyable place to hang out for a while. I believe you get a discount on your drink if you bring your own mug.
