I brought my elderly mother there, and they are very patient. We went there on 2023-09-01 to get new prescription glasses and lenses. They arrived 2 weeks later, and they did adjustments. They get the lens made off-site, but they have an in-house lab to cut the lens to fit a frame. It that way, they provide faster service. For whatever reason, they can never get it adjusted properly. She has been back there 5 times (it is now 2023-12-09). I don't know why she keeps needing adjustments. My mom also complains about getting dizzy. I suspect the transition line (she got a progressive lens) is too low for her. There is a little table for young children to sit and play. There is no free WiFi. The store is wheelchair accessible. There are separate male/female washrooms. There is free parking in their private parking lot. Review 2023-388

Unable to wear them as they didnt seem to fit my prescription??. Went back several times no satisfaction, (it is what it is) Returned to Ontario St where we were clients for a number of years before our move! Nicole and Micheline were like a tag team so Professional and very easy to explain my problem. They knew what the problem was and were ready to make my vision perfect again!! I was VERY confident that they would solve my problems. Nicole even completed my benefits form, I basically had nothing to do. What a Pleasure!. My glasses came in, and immediately noticed a difference!! Will definitely return for my next pair. Courteous, professional, knowledgeable people, even adjusted my husband's glasses for him! Kudos to both of you, it was a fun experience as well. Fran

I got 2 days a week worth of effort. He made me feel like he wanted me out of there as quickly as possible. Didn't want to dilate me when all docs want to based on family history. Told me in the most brusque way possible about the practice sale, his 2 days a week status, and that I can expect my eyes to get worse as I approach my 40's. At the end of the appointment, I took my prescription to go and found a small local practice where the doctor actually cares. Wouldn't recommend, which is disappointing from a place I formerly trusted.

For that first pair, my family dutifully shuttled down to Sterling Optical, then occupying prime real estate in the Boulevard Mall. For my second pair of glasses, we visited Phil Best at Main Optical, and we haven't looked back. In the time Phil Best has occupied his shop just off of Main Street, the street has been widened, bars have come and gone, children have grown up, moved away, and started families of their own. Throughout, he has provided the same level of dependable service, expertly and comprehensively walking customers through the selection of lenses, frames, contacts, accessories, and so forth. He offers support for his frames and lenses throughout their lifetime and also boasts a room ready to perform eye examinations once a week (I believe). Phil carries a fairly wide selection of high end and more affordable frames considering the size of his shop, but fashionistas may require him to order less conventional frames. This location is only open Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at present. He operates another location Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
