Extremely Stressful and Unprofessional Experience - Not "Stress-Free" at All!!…read more I had an incredibly stressful and disappointing experience with College Hunks Moving, and I feel compelled to share it so others can make an informed decision. I initially spoke with Shantoya over the phone and provided a full inventory for a one-bedroom move from Fort Lauderdale to Tampa. Based on that information, I was quoted $1,200-$1,600, which I agreed to. I signed the contract and paid my deposit. The day after Thanksgiving, after the contract was signed and my deposit was paid, I received a call saying there was an issue with the quote and that an estimator now needed to come to my apartment to do a full inventory. This process should have happened before any contract was signed or money collected. Instead, I was blindsided while spending time with my family on a holiday, suddenly unsure if the price I agreed to was going to drastically change. To make matters worse, I was told the estimator would come just five days before my scheduled move, leaving me almost no time to make alternative arrangements if the cost changed. I live alone, so I requested a female estimator, and Sherry came to my apartment. She was extremely kind, professional, and empathetic. I showed her my original quote and explained the situation. After completing the inventory, she informed me the new estimate was nearly double what I had originally agreed to. At that point, I was overwhelmed and almost in tears. This was five days before my move, and I was suddenly facing a massive unexpected increase due entirely to mistakes made by College Hunks. Sherry was visibly embarrassed and repeatedly apologized, stating that the situation had been handled very poorly on their end. She even provided me with corporate and local supervisor phone numbers because she felt my estimate and overall experience had been mishandled so badly. I ultimately canceled immediately within the 5-day cancellation window, went with another company, and therefore am entitled to a full refund of my deposit. It has now been over a month, seven calls to corporate, and I have still not received my deposit back. I have been given the runaround repeatedly with no resolution. We also contacted the local supervisor's office, and no one ever called us back to address the issue. The only person who showed genuine care and professionalism throughout this ordeal was Sherry, the estimator. Everyone else failed to take responsibility, correct their mistakes, or offer any form of apology or accountability. College Hunks markets itself as "stress-free," but this experience was the exact opposite. Thankfully, I did not end up using their services, but I was still left to absorb all the stress, uncertainty, and financial inconvenience caused by their errors. Poor communication, poor customer service, and a complete lack of follow-through. I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. If I could give 0 stars I would.

When we had questions leading up to moving day, their administrator Brana was quick and kind with her responses. On the day of moving us out Denis stayed in touch about their arrival time. Thankfully traffic helped us out (although I know it must have been difficult for Denis and his colleague Marat). We thought we were so ready to move and found out the morning of that I had missed several kitchen drawers and cabinets during a recent illness. Denis was so kind and patient, providing us with extra boxes and wrapping paper to keep our valuables safe during transit. He and Marat took such great care of every piece of furniture, every moving box and bag, and when he adjusted the invoice with all of our last minute add-ons he was very fair. The move in to our new apartment home was just as seamless and filled with patience, kindness, and very hard work by Marat. We are forever grateful for this Dixie Movers LLC family. Thank you.

It took them two full hours just to disassemble a queen-size bed. They didn't know how to pack a dining table and couldn't disassemble it until we found a YouTube video for them to follow. In the process, they broke our TV stand (we had to throw it away) and damaged our Aminach sofa valued at $3,000. What was supposed to take 3 hours dragged into 6 hours, and the whole move felt chaotic and unprofessional. I'm sharing this so others don't make the same mistake. Needless to say I was in shock. Understanding my angst Melissa at Dixon Moving adjusted my move schedule at the last minute and worked to find me storage and took care of all the logistics. There was no way my head was in the right space to deal with this - and Mellisa took care of all of it. When I ended up moving - the crew was quick, polite and respectful of my property. We had a very pleasant experience with Mark and his interaction with us and although we're no longer moving, wish we hired them if we decided to move. As soon as I sent it I thought to myself hmmmmmm I should check some reviews . As you can see here they are fairly terrible. So in a panic I called my guy back, texted and emailed and nothing.
