I mention this because the parking lot here at Baggley Park has a spot at the far left corner that is on a slope- making it easy for elderly dogs to get out of the car without being "airlifted". Along with being senior dog-approved with both a concrete loop path around the park, a large open grassy area, and ample trash cans around; it's also great for humans with a tennis court, basketball court, sand volleyball, and playground. There is also an entrance to the Boise River Greenbelt in the neighborhood of this park. There are 2 handicap stalls right at the start, but other than that there are no other parking spots- so it's best to park at Baggely and walk over to the Greenbelt from there. There are a few local grocery stores and spots to pick up food really close making Baggley Park a great spot to picnic as well.

My family started playing pickleball during Covid very casually for fun... In due time, we were all…read morehooked -- especially my kids. So when we heard about the NJP Southwest Regional Tournament that was taking place nearby in Tempe, we were all about it! Since pickleball is such a growing sport, the pool of competitive junior players is not that large, so oftentimes the kids are playing against adults. NJP brings a unique opportunity for kids to play against kids their own age and skill level and it's so much fun for both the kids and parents! We've now been to the NJP Southwest Regional and the NJP Central Regional in Missouri. My kids, ages 11 and 12, are hooked. They will tell you these tournaments have been a highlight of their lives this year. The NJP tournaments are well organized, so much fun for all involved, and a way to connect with likeminded athletes from all over the US. My kids have met so many kids and made solid friendships from these tournaments and I've made new friends with parents too. NJP typically offers an evening of skill evaluation followed by a singles day, a doubles day, and a team event. This set-up allows for kids to connect on so many levels, and not only compete, but cheer each other on as well. The NJP staff are always kind and welcoming and the referees are amazing with the kids as well... There is typically an awesome swag bag given out to the kids with some fabulous pickle gear (thanks to all of the many sponsors for this), and a sportsmanship award as well - I love how they promote having a good attitude - these kids need it! If you know of a kid that is 8-18 and enjoys playing pickleball, I totally recommend participating in a NJP tournament. We can't make the upcoming tournament in Idaho, but we'll definitely return for as many more NJP tournaments that we can find that work for our busy schedules. I've shopped for my husband, grandkids and myself and I have been happy with my purchases. I bought some great seasonings for myself, sports items for my grandkids, and lots of outdoor equipment for my husband. Everything has been used and enjoyed, and has held up well. The prices are comparable to other places. I absolutely think their seasonings are superior to grocery stores for outdoor cooking.

Both were delicious. I got some beef jerky to bring home as a gift. They also had fudge and espresso drinks. I did have a slightly negative experience at check out where the cashier could have handled things better, but everything else went well. That ruins the vibe for me for any business. It's still a great store, but people need to shut up with getting involved in anything that has absolutely nothing to do with sporting goods, outdoor activities etc or whatever their business is. REI is crazy expensive tho! Ooooh! So Al's just opened. I was sad to see the trampoline park close and leave. Sports Authority was at this location at one time too. Mittens was on the board, soooo...ahhh! Never mind lol. They closed. Sad. Anyway, finally a store goes in there. Obviously we are talking about AL's. This store is fantastic. I know it's going to be pricey eventually, but when we went in, the sales they were having were amazing. They had great prices on almost everything. With Christmas coming up, too, I'm sure their sales will once again be epic. They have all kinds of top brands. North Face, Patagonia, etc. Any place that carries Patagonia is ok in my book...even if Patagonia is another company that gets too political way too often. They make great jackets tho. I've had my R3 for like 17 years and still looks new. So walking into Al's and seeing they sell Pats, made me happy. Pats in general are very expensive. So if they happen to have these on sale, don't hesitant to pick one up. Same goes for a lot of the other name brands they have here. Great store for hunters, for anyone who loves kayaking, paddle boarding, hiking, I mean, it's just a great store. I'm usually iffy on these chain stores, but I think this one is mainly specific to this area of the country, PNW, and obviously Utah and ugh, I'm sure California as well..at least Northern California? Who knows. Most people I know have already been. My hunter friends are in love with this place. They have gotten some insane deals here. However, if you haven't been, you definitely need to check it out...especially now that the Christmas season is like a day away from officially beginning. No, it doesn't start the day after Halloween lol. We got a few things here when we went. One thing was a flashlight. There was a guy in that section, wish I remembered his name. His main job is he's a fireman. I remember at least that much. This guy was such a great help. Knew the products well, super friendly, perfect teeth haha, and I mean, he was fun to look at. Sorry, had to throw that last bit in haha, because shiiiieeeet! Hahaha! Super nice guy. Everyone we came across that works there was great and eager to help. I hope this place succeeds. That spot it's in is a weird one. It seems to do good elsewhere and with Boise being a huge outdoor city, I can't see this place actually failing. I can only see it flourish and I hope it does. I'm giving the fitting a five star because of my Master Fitter Bill Greene. We started late in the…read moreday which was a bad choice on my part since it's a tough day swinging clubs that long. With that said, it was the most rewarding day ever. Bill never pushed us along, in fact he made sure that we tried many club heads, shafts, loft adjustments, and even grips. Let's just say that I've done a process like this before and ended up with a nice set of clubs, but they were "off the shelf", and "their" fitting was NOT a fitting. I can't comment on the club build yet but the process with Bill Greene at the Meridian Idaho store was fantastic!! Highly recommend doing a true full bag fitting.
