I have a hard time rating parks lower than four stars…read more There. I said it. Why? Because--yay, I'm a fan of an oasis of green, however big or small. That said, of course, if it was overly littered or more weedy than grassy--I suppose I'd have to go lower in stars. Fortunately, that is not the case for Fairview Park. Fairview Park is a neighborhood park on the corner of 23rd and Idaho Streets that, while small, is none-the-less full of amenities. There's a playground for the wee ones as well as those a little less wee (you know--the 6-12 set). They have a couple full sized basketball courts as well as 2 tennis courts. There's picnic tables (no covered picnic area), plenty of benches, and restrooms (though--it should be noted they're closed in winter). Another note--probably not the best park for larger gatherings as the only parking is on street. Also, not the best place for sports or kite flying as there's a fair amount of trees dispersed throughout the park that would get in the way. The up side? Plenty of shade on a hot day. Get to it!

Baggley Park is a nice little neighborhood park that holds a special place in my heart. I used to…read moretake my senior dog, Simba, who had hip problems and issues getting in and out of the car here all the time. I mention this because the parking lot here at Baggley Park has a spot at the far left corner that is on a slope- making it easy for elderly dogs to get out of the car without being "airlifted". Along with being senior dog-approved with both a concrete loop path around the park, a large open grassy area, and ample trash cans around; it's also great for humans with a tennis court, basketball court, sand volleyball, and playground. There is also an entrance to the Boise River Greenbelt in the neighborhood of this park. There are 2 handicap stalls right at the start, but other than that there are no other parking spots- so it's best to park at Baggely and walk over to the Greenbelt from there. There are a few local grocery stores and spots to pick up food really close making Baggley Park a great spot to picnic as well.

Lovely quiet park... that I selfishly delayed adding to Yelp... as I cherish one of the few quiet…read moretruly ACCESSIBLE walking paths in the area...ie firm gravel path encircles the park... enabling people in wheelchairs/with mobility issues... to traverse the park. And bonus it's tucked into a mature neighborhood... so the risk of crazy wild dogs off leash & people with angst is minimal. If u enjoy quietness too, come enjoy this community park... note the downside is no real parking, so not appropriate for group activities.
