    Flying Pickle Courts/Facilities

After waiting almost a year to see the facility, I finally got to attend the 3.5 Open Play session and I really enjoyed the environment, the friendly players, and the nice courts. Highly recommend attending an open play session because I felt very welcomed and got to meet some very nice individuals. When I got in, the front desk worker was helpful enough to show me how the paddle system works for players waiting for next games as well. Will definitely be coming back next time I'm in Idaho!

This is the BEST volleyball facility in Idaho! We love it at RISE!…read more When you walk in, there is laughter and joy. There is this feeling, a culture they have created that is incredible. You can tell the athletes want to be there. And you can tell the coaches want to be there too. I have heard a few of the athletes say this is a safe place for them and they look forward to practice every week. This is so important for our kids, now more than ever. The coaches are engaged and work very well with the athletes. It is incredible how much some of them have improved over the course of a season. You can tell this place is special! I encourage anyone to go. Rise also offers volleyball for young children who are just learning, one on one training, camps, clinics, open gyms, and recreational level play for adults!

We paid lots of money and by the time we realized what this club was about, it was too late to get out of it. Our team parents offered better feedback and coaching than the actual coaches. Very sad. The owner would sit on the sidelines at tournaments and be on her phone instead of watching the teams play and being fully present. It was very disrespectful. Canned responses were given by coaches when the players asked for feedback. When you pay as much as club costs, the basic expectation is that your child will improve their skills and learn. They will be coached and be more successful on the court. I guess for our first year in club, even though our expectations were so basic - we had a bar that was too high and Rise couldn't meet it. In fact, I don't think Rise was even on the court. I would never recommend Rise Volleyball Club unless you want to waste your child's time, your time, and your money.

Gym is not crowded, each time I was there , there might have only been 2-3 other people max. Service is friendly and accommodating. We got a weekend pass as out of state visitors. Pro tip: register on a weekday, since weekends may not have a front desk person to assist Recommendations : 1) test out your access after registration. Make sure to test with door locked to avoid possible subsequent issues 2) bathroom stall was out of toilet paper, so hopefully some more can be stocked up. Overall, would definitely return to visit the facility if I'm back in the area. Keep up the great work.

His curiosity and enthusiasm made the experience even better. The facility was spotless and as well-equipped as any gym I've ever been to. They had top-of-the-line equipment for just about any training style--powerlifting, bodybuilding, CrossFit, Functional Patterns, and Knees Over Toes. On top of that, they offered an infrared sauna and a cold plunge. Next time I'm in town, this gym will definitely be at the top of my list.

The slide isn't always staffed, but when it is, it's super fun... even as a grown up :-) They have a rock wall, track for walking/running, and offer fitness classes. My mom likes doing the circuit of machines up in the weight lifting area. There's lots of cardio equipment. I usually prefer the free weights and non-circuit resistance machines for my workouts, and I've found everything I needed at this YMCA. Staff and members are all friendly, and I've never felt uncomfortable working out here. Sometimes you end up weighting for weights or machines, especially during peak times, but that's pretty much how it goes at any gym. Membership is $50/month for one person, or I believe $80/month for two, so a bit of savings. Considering everything you have access to with a membership, it's honestly not a bad deal. I have paid as much or more for gyms with way fewer amenities, let alone for a yoga or pilates studio. Definitely a good option.

I will say it is a bit pricey, but they have financial assistance for people who are needing it, and when I lost my job we paid based on how much we made so cost doesn't have to be a factor preventing you from going to an inclusive community center for all ages. The YMCA in West Boise offers a great experience for any newcomer to the gym or long time veterans who are just coming in to work out.
