One time it took 3-hours, so I inquired and was told that they had an urgent walk-in customer. My visit on Wednesday, September 3rd, I waited around 45-minutes to be called. Yet, customers who walked in to check-in, were seen before me. This sadly is a pattern. However, my visit that day with Dr. Haiser Dao was pleasant and I felt he treated me respectfully; as a person who was fully aware of her symptoms. To my knowledge, there is no other office in Brownsville to recieve care for your digestive needs.

My new Gastroenterology office has requested my records several times and still have NOT RECVEIVED them. I called the office this morning and was told by the office staff that it takes months to have the records sent because "I needed to understand that they have thousands of patients that request records". I guess by that comment it tells me so much about this organization. I requested my "OWN" records, and they told me there was a charge for MY OWN records. I will be reporting this to the medical board and will not ever go back to this incompetent organization again.

A, primary Dr. I was constipated, bloated, weak, tired felt I was dying, I'd tried everything over the counter including prescription medicine. Dr. Phillips's experience, ethical and proper practice, found an intestinal bacteria infection that was deteriorating my digestive tract causing leakage and further poisoning my body. after completing a regiment of meds, prescribed by him I began to heal and have been free of any bacteria's of any kind, I'm eating well and back to normal. 4 stars because its a long wait between patients ;)

Nine years ago I was diagnosed by another Doctor in another city with Cirrhosis of the liver. The…read morediagnosis was made using various imaging and blood tests. A second Doctor in Harlingen, near where I moved after the first diagnosis confirmed the diagnosis and as good as told me it was well advanced and I should obviously completely quit drinking, bu I had the strong impression that he did not think I would quit drinking and the prognosis was not good anyway. Then I saw Doctor Phillips and while he confirmed the cirrhosis, he gave me hope that if I quit drinking my chances were good that I could live a normal lifespan as long as we monitored the situation. He also recommended though that I see the Texas Transplant Institute in San Antonio so that if my cirrhosis did worsen, I would have started the process of "getting in line". Dr. Phillips performs an annual endoscopy which initially showed large varices, but he did not recommend that we perform the procedure to tie them off initially because it would be better if they shrunk on their own, and they have and have never bled. He has also monitored me with semi-annual abdominal ultra sounds, and AFP blood tests to check for liver cancer. He has maintained close contact with my family physician who I see every 3-4 months and have comprehensive metabolic blood tests. All along Dr. Phillips has given me hope and compassion, along with excellent care. I simply could not recommend a Doctor more highly.

Mr Spinetti just kept giving me different medications in the span of a few months. When none of them were working, he was ready to give up and just call it a depression/anxiety issue. He even showed me a random video on youtube about inspiration and about life. I remember clutching my stomach, still deeply in pain, and thinking "why am I still in pain? Why is he making me watch this? Why is he doing the bare minimum? Why is he so hesitant to help me?". It honestly felt unreal that he thought a silly little video would suddenly inspire and "fix" me. The visit after that, my stomach was even worse. I was delirious and laying on the bed, hair covering my face. I could faintly see him giving me a "really? So dramtic" look. The nurse actually seemed more concerned than him (rubbing my back, speaking to me) and she was suggesting him to do an endoscopy on me. He was extremely hesitant to do one for no reason at all. He kept trying to talk me out of it like it was some sort of dangerous surgery. He even said how it most likely won't fix the issue. I still got it done anyways. Turns out I had bleeding in my stomach. He referred me to another doctor and I had it repaired. I will give him credit where it's due, he did admit me to the hospital when my weight was extremely low after the surgery and he was a lot nicer when I saw him many many months later, but I didn't feel like he was there for me when I was sick. When I needed his help most. He made me suffer for a lot longer than needed, and he was doing the bare minimum for issues that obviously needed an endoscopy. I went to another Gastro years later, and on the first visit they were already talking about Endoscopy and that's the kind of care I like.
