Most barcades now have extremely specific decor covering the walls with almost every aspect of the aesthetic working towards the theme. This was just a room. It was just a bland atmosphere. They had a great bar, that is, if you can get a drink. I was there for 30 minutes and I was ignored by the bartender for about 20 of those. Grr! And I didn't even get a drink! Gah! I was a tad bummed by the selection of games but was pleasantly surprised when I noticed the small bonus room in the back full of more games. This place has excellent potential! Also the bouncer was way too serious for working an arcade. Really dude?

My son is tall enough to enter (36"), but adults can't go in unless they pay $5. So, I had to watch my son play from afar, without being able to show him how anything worked. Lastly, I'm not sure if this place is gonna close soon or what, but at least one arcade game was broken and the claw machines were 95% empty. These considerations definitely left a negative impression.

The second time I visited there were 4 or 5 machines that were out of order, but I cant hold this against them because some of these games are over 50 years old and it appears they have a relatively small staff. Normally 95% of the games are operational in my experience. The Speakeasy arcade has a great, fun atmosphere which might remind some of us of simpler times. I think its like $15, maybe $20 to enter and all the games are free to play. They have lots of classics like Pacman and Asteroids, a number of racing games and a great selection of pinball games. I didnt see any fighting games but they do have a pool table as well.

The games charge uneven amounts of tokens per game like 5.3 or 7.6, meaning you can't spend all the tokens on the card, there will always be a odd balance left over. Overall was a decent experience, the kids had fun. I felt nickeled and dimed so I'm not sure the value is there. We will probably be back because my kids enjoyed it, but I may not be happy about it.

Walked in, employees lounging around the entrance desk, no one greeted us, asked if we'd ever been there, offered to explain how it all works, just 4 guys having a conversation. Two final comments: 1) as a first time customer, I had to figure out about purchasing the card to play the games, bowl etc. When I found the location, there was a "Closed" sign on it, so I commenced to hunt an employee to help. Older gentleman snatched the sign off it and when I asked about it, was told "it was open the whole time". Well sorry, but I'm not in the habit of removing or ignoring signs like that. 2) at one point during the bowling, all the other lanes were activated and every single bowling ball in the facility came back up the lanes to us. Maybe get more racks for them?
