What impressed me the most was their genuine helpfulness and supportive approach - they took the time to answer all my questions, ensure I was comfortable and gave us great personal attention during our time. The warm blankets were a super comforting touch, and a little refreshing apple juice was a nice touch.... like a 5-star hotel! I can't forget Scott, the anesthesia guy! Explained the process and what would take place. It's really great since I'm guessing some have the fear of the unknown and not only Scott, but the rest of the staff I mentioned above, were very reassuring and explained everything. Can you imagine, not only do they have to perform their jobs well, but they also have the emotional aspects to manage. I bumped the IV in my hand and they fixed that straight away. That was reassuring as heck! Seriously, I can't thank you enough from my heart to all of yours. For post-op, when being wheeled out to the car, I believe her name was Nancy, but I was still feeling the effects of the anesthesia...she was wonderful as well. If I'm in the area, I'd love to stop by to bring y'all some goodies!! 5-star care, and that's for pre and post op "CARE". The only recommendation I could make is to perhaps "update" the waiting room. I think the building is a bit older which comes with it's own inherent challenges. I didn't think it was a big deal, but if you compare that waiting room to other hospital/professional waiting rooms, perhaps subconsciously it would be reassuring to the first-time patient. Instead my kid got a letter saying they were no longer seeing her. I tried to reach out to the office saying the bill was paid in full and they didn't care. They still said she couldn't come back. We were called the next day by the doctor herself and were provided an appointment promptly. We were expecting to have to wait a few weeks like most referrals, thank goodness it was not as my husband was looking for some relief soon. When arriving at the office, the door was locked so we called to advise we were there for our appointment. Dr. Chou greeted us at the door, asked us a few health questions, took our temperature and we walked into the office. The waiting room is bright and clean. It has two comfy chairs to sit in and soft music playing to keep you relaxed. We all know how nervous it can be going to a doctors office. During our initial visit Dr. Chou completed several tests on my husband's eyes and gave him some solutions to try and a prescription medication. She explained in detail and clearly so we knew what was going on as she was doing her tests. She provided us with samples and a coupon for our prescription as it was not covered by my plan. Overall, We were very happy with our visits to her office so far we have been to her twice, the main appointment and a follow up appt. My husband is doing much better. My doctor's office referred me to this office, and when I called to schedule an appointment, it…read moretook several attempts and multiple messages before I received a response. When I was finally able to schedule, I was told that I could not be seen until October because my concerns were not considered urgent, despite having an urgent referral. I understand that many medical offices have their own triage systems to determine which patients need to be seen sooner. However, being told by the staff that my concerns were not urgent felt insensitive, especially as I have been struggling with these issues since May. The office also does not maintain a cancellation list, which made it even more difficult to be seen sooner. I ultimately had my referral rerouted to Sacramento Eye Consultants and was able to get an appointment the same week. I think a cancellation list or another option to be seen sooner would be helpful. Patients shouldn't feel like their only options are to wait months to be seen or seek care elsewhere or through an emergency room. Providing more flexibility and support during the scheduling process would create a much more compassionate and patient-centered experience.

I am a patient of the sleep medicine clinic, and I cannot recommend them any less (if negative…read morestars were possible, I would assign them that!). Since being seen by Dr Nguyen at the very beginning of June, I have had nothing but hurdles to overcome in terms of trying to seek care for my sleep (or lack thereof) issues. Dr Nguyen recommended a sleep study at our appointment and referred me for such. The first referral was denied because of improper filing in her behalf, and it took over a week of calling daily AND messaging through the portal to have the referrals resubmitted properly. Then, the second round of referral was denied and I was told it was because she didn't complete a peer to peer consultation with my insurance. After calling to speak with the doctor on Monday, I was told by the office that she would be contacting me by Wednesday to discuss what happened with my referral. It is now Wednesday, and guess what! Still no word from the office or the doctor. I have also had multiple messages sent on my behalf from the sleep lab where the study should be taking place, and from the patient relations department. AND, because of the nature of this study, I am required to keep a log for two weeks prior to my study and be off of my medications for those two weeks before I can even do the testing. This, combined with the fact that referrals take up to (and usually max out on) a full two weeks to process, I am looking at a minimum of another month before I get any answers. Truly do not schedule with this clinic or provider if you value your sanity or if you are actually looking for a caring team to help you with your sleep issues.
