I had the misfortune of having to deal with this man when my son needed tubes in his ears. He did the procedure and then acted like we were a nuisance when we came in for the post op appointment that we were told we HAD to do. He came in, was extremely rude and bothered by our presence. When he asked how things were going with my sons ears, I told him that everything was fine except for a shooting pain in the left ear my son would randomly complain of. Without even looking into my child's ears (I know it sounds crazy, but it happened) he abruptly and hotly said "there is nothing wrong with his ears. He's fine. I don't know what to tell you." I was shocked and explained that I was simply relaying important information considering he literally just operated on my 8 year olds ears and was now not wanting to even check them and telling me they were fine. He then decided to go on an odd little rambling rant about me and my sons pediatrician "claiming" that he had frequent ear infections but he (Hasday) has never seen a "single ear infection in my child." I said "well, you've only seen him twice in his entire life, and when he gets infections, we take him to his pediatrician, not to an ENT." I then asked him if he was trying to say that my sons pediatrician was lying about my child having ear infections, and he replied "I can't say that at this time." I asked him why he preformed a surgical procedure on my child if he doubted the pediatricians recommendation. Instead of answering that, he said "maybe you should take your kid to a dentist to be checked, because it isn't his ears." I told him that we had already been to pediatric dentists who all said it wasn't his teeth and also recommended seeing an ENT. He shrugged his shoulders said "welp... I don't know what to tell you. What do you want? Want me to look in his ears?" Then proceeded to peek in without the use of an otoscope , extremely quickly and say "yeaaahhh... They're fine." He left me, my son and my husband scared thinking that an unstable person had just done a surgical procedure on our child and then didn't want to check on him at the post op appointment. He had done a couple of other strange things before at the appointments before the surgery and we put them off as him having a bad day or perhaps being "neuro spicy", but this post op follow up was beyond disturbing. On my way out I reported his bizarre behavior to the office manager and said that I would never allow him to see my child again. No one seemed surprised by what I was reporting either so I highly suspect that we are not the only ones to have this type of experience with him. As a mother, I would never ever allow that man anywhere near my child again and I lose sleep at night thinking that he did a surgical procedure on him at all. He seems to think that any answer but "oh everything is perfect and my child is fully healed" is some type of personal attack on him. He asked how my kid was doing (obviously out of obligation and not actual concern) and when I told him about the shooting pain, he seemed to be completely offended by it. It's so hard to get in to see any ENT as it is... We literally waited YEARS from start to finish for my child to get the tubes he desperately needed, and this is what we were met with ... I'm absolutely disgusted by this man's lack of bedside manner and complete lack of care for his patients wellbeing. I hope no one else has to go through this with him and their innocent child again. read more
