I've been taking my VW to JA Autowerks for a couple years now. Mostly for the bigger repairs I'm…read moreunable to do myself. Prices are reasonable compared to the dealerships. I came to using JA Autowerks after contacting a few "Audi specialty" closer to me. I was looking…read moreto get some general maintenance done and a fairly common oil screen filter relocation kit installed. The other shops either had no idea what I was talking about or had some outrageous offers like doing a transmission maintenance without changing the filter. Additional work done included spark plug change and oil change. JA Autowerks is about 100 miles from me. But after speaking with the crew there I knew it was the right place for my 2016 Audi RS7. From the moment I called them for a quote until I picked up the car, communication was spot on. Even with a bunch of people out sick, John the owner called me and met me when I dropped the car off. A few days later I was promptly contacted about the price of some additional items and gave the okay for the work. I didn't get to meet Jason, the tech who worked on my car, but I can tell from the craftsmanship he knew what he was doing. I'm meticulous when it comes how I work on my car, and it looks like Jason is also. Since I was so far, Nick took time out of his DAY OFF to meet me to pick up the car. Will I drive 200 miles round trip again for work on my Audi RS7? You're damn right.

Store associate was argumentative…read moreand just kept repeating himself on the work the mechanic claimed that needed to be done while refusing to do what was originally asked. The estimate came close to two thousand dollars. The next morning I spent more of my time with another mechanic shop and none of that work needed to be done. I think this store just tries to get as much money out of you as they can regardless if the work really needs it. My car also has a leaking radiator found when I first purchased the car 6 months ago. I gave this shop two opportunities to tell me about it and they did not. I am so glad I have a much better mechanic to take care of my car. Unfortunately my regular mechanic doesn't have the machine to do alignments or one to replace tires. I thought this AAA shop could be my go to for this service but I was wrong. Time to find someone else more reliable and respectful of my time and money. I will never be back.

Specializing in Toyota and Scion, he is very knowledgeable in what your car needs to run smoothly. From making the appointment to reviewing prices for repairs to completion, Nelson was on point with every recommendation made. He brought out the old parts and showed me exactly what was going on and why it needed replacing. A tiny shop accomodating only a couple cars at a time you will have his full attention. No fancy waiting room but he will go out of his way to make you feel comfortable while you wait in his office. A few restaurants in the area that are walking distance if waiting for repairs to be completed. A short uber ride to Sandy Hook also. Highly recommend My Guy Nelson Auto Repairs.

I had my Toyota Highlander towed from Toms River last Sunday. I have only owned it for a year but am very attached to it. I love driving it one of the best cars I have owned. I did some research and when a friend of mine did some investigating I was thinking it was over. Too soon. When Nelson got ahold of it he knew just what to do. He got the parts he needed Wednesday and finished it Thursday night. It even entailed pulling the engine from the car. He had to change the cam gears. While it was out he recommended the water pump be changed which he did. There was an oil cooler line that was part rubber that was known to fail got changed. New thermostat and anti-freeze. He also did an oil change, rotated my tires and did a four wheel alignment. How one person could accomplish so much in a short amount of time is truly mind boggling. Nelson has my business from now on. I highly recommend him to others. Nelson is a Japanese and South Korean car repair specialist but does work on some domestic cars as well. His attention to detail is exquisite plus he has a very nice down to earth personality and of course great work ethic. Thank you Nelson for really caring and taking care of my Highlander and next my Honda Pilot.

I was lucky, because I went to start my car and it flashed a low battery indicator, I tested it at auto zone and they made me aware that I needed a new alternator. I researched this issue after the fact and I did need a new alternator, because my car was at 110,000 miles and an alternator usually lasts that long. The car did not break down on the highway and having a working vehicle is a small price to pay.
