Pied Piper Pharms

We had put down a deposit for one female and one male. The female had diarrhea . I did not see happy , healthy, bouncy goats. They all looked sad. Ryan said that the girl has Diarrhea because of the cold weather! She did worm them and gave them a shot and sent us home at 8 weeks old. We got home a few hours later and they both had Diarrhea and was acting really sick! Ryan the owner said it was from a bad does of the CDT she gave them! I took them to the vet the next morning and they both tested positive for Coccidiosis! and they were infested with LICE! the vet said these goats were very sick and were not taken care of.

I already owned a five month old Pygmy goat and I need another one due to companion. As soon I drive in the farm, my first thought- wow this is a really great small farm! There are plenty of goats roaming and jumping through kids' playground. I am really glad I bought Chèvre "Che" from this place because I could tell that all goats were raised with love. There are some farms that breed goats and sell them for profits without any interaction with humans. The owner warned me that Che is not friendly as others and may be little skittish. I thought it was normal because he is still eight weeks old and I am new to him. When I saw other goats, I can see what she meant. All goats are more than happy to come to you and begging to be picked up or be petted. Right now, I am very satisfied with Che. He is shy but he would walk up to me occasionally and sniff me. He wouldn't mind if I pet him when he do that. The owner was very informative and instruct me how to help raising Che. She dewormed him right there in front of me. She also gave me some formula and feed. The overall experience was so wonderful! I know I already have two goats but I would love to go back just to pet those goats again! Thank you for giving us a wonderful pet! I would recommended everyone to buy their "mini" pet goats from there- no question!

Eden Animal Sanctuary - Manfred, homecoming!

Eden Animal Sanctuary

Anyone that has known me for any length of time knows that chelonians (broad way to group turtles…read moreand tortoises together... they're different, people!) are my spirit animal, and I've wanted one as a pet for a very very very long time. After a lot of research about all things tortoise and acquiring/assembling my set up, I decided that just buying a tortoise from a store wasn't an option. It was captive bred or adoption. A captive bred situation didn't work out and I stumbled upon Eden Animal Sanctuary (and Manfred!) with a Craig's List search. They're a chelonian specific rescue that operates on a private property. They rehabilitate surrendered turtles/tortoises and find the PERFECT homes for them, if they're considered adoptable. Filled out an "I'm interested" form on AdoptAPet.com and FB messaged the sanctuary (https://www.facebook.com/edenanimalsanctuary), letting them know that I'd submitted the form. Rachel responded to my message within minutes, sending me the adoption application and asking for pictures of my set up. The application was long and very thorough. I was a little nervous filling it out, even though I knew that Manfred belonged with me and that I could give him an amazing life (and that I'm going to have to put him in my will because he will likely outlive me). Then the waiting began. I was anxiously prepared to wait over a weekend (as I'd sent in the application on a Thursday evening), but, on Friday afternoon, I received an email saying that I'd been approved! I may or may not have danced around like an idiot for the rest of the day. Just kidding, I totally did. The following Saturday, a couple friends and I made our way to an adoption event in Spring Branch, where the rescue had a presence. I had no difficulty ignoring all the adoptable dogs (not usually the case with me) at the event as I made my way to the turtle/tortoise table. I knew it was my Manfred the moment I saw him. I chatted with Rachel a little bit and filled out his adoption form, promising to return him to the sanctuary if I could no longer care for him. I was also able to meet a couple of the other chelonians from the rescue, including a teenaged sulcata named Radar and three box turtles. I paid my adoption fee (donations and adoption fees go towards building habitats and caring for the chelonians) and skipped away with my new, best reptile buddy. All in all, I can't recommend Eden Animal Sanctuary enough. It's obvious to me that Rachel loves what she does and loves the animals even more.
