This is a bicycle workshop (self-serve, assisted), cafeteria, hostel/pension, and a kino and a few…read moreother aspects operate out of the same address. For the bicycle workshop, this is probably the last 6-day a week (full time) bicycle workshop where you can bring your bike and do repairs yourself for the entire area of Berlin. Usually there are 2-3 experienced people managing the werkstatt, providing assistance and time permitting, doing the repair if you get really stuck. This is a place to donate and learn how to repair your primary mode of transportation besides walking: bicycle. Extra features include staff only tools (you have to ask, staff will assist), a welder, a grinder, and some other things you are unlikely to have back where you have your room. They do NOT have some necessary tools but improvise, sometimes, so if you don't see it, ask. The rate is now 3EUR per hour. Whether you work outside or inside the shop, you are expected to contribute from the time you park the bike and begin working, whether doing the repairs yourself or having staff help, it's the same rate. There are some new parts available, and many used parts. Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday are opening times. Thursday children and teenagers have priority. Wednesday is WOMEN ONLY. You cannot even ask questions or stop by as the whole space then is for WOMEN who have issues or just want to work exclusively alone. You can meet some good people here and get some good help. Please be respectful and patient as the staff from April to October can be extremely busy; first come, first serve (with the previous priorities in mind). Some staff know english, the rest are from DDR times when it was more common to learn Russian as a second language.

Scam alert! Save yourself the trouble; avoid this shop completely…read more - Staff are miserable and rude to the point of verbally insulting my friends. Being a tourist, they thought I did not understand German and would use foul language, using "dumpf" (stupid) to talk about us. - They engage in fraudulent behaviour. First lying about being closed on Sunday, saying I'd have to pay for an additional day, then afterwards saying I could have returned the bike on Sunday as they'd have been open. - Worse yet, they overcharged me on a 10-day bike rental when I returned the bicycle a day EARLY. I don't mean charging me for the 10 days but actually charging at a higher daily rate for 9 days. When I said this was not in their contract, and I expected to pay the 10 day rate (which would still benefit them with an extra free day!) they said I would have to call the police or else I could not get my gov't issued identity card back. - Upon being forced to pay the higher rate, they sneakily attempted to WITHHOLD my identity card. This is highly illegal and unscrupulous. Only because I paid keen attention did I prevent them from causing further stress and hindrance. Never again will I use this shop. I hope this review saves others the hassle of dealing with this terrible little shop.

The reviews from 2014 are outdated and BS. I've been using this bike rental place every year for…read morethe past five years. First, there's a new owner. Second, he's got a ton of new bikes. And third, he's 5 Euros a day! The place is awesome. It is true that the store is not open on Sunday. But the new owner is super nice despite the fact that he's had four or five news bikes stolen this year which is lame. I can't recommend this place more highly. Stop by his shop. He's located in Kreuzberg.

This place rules - I mean: Radlust? How cool is that?…read more In all seriousness, for anyone with Holland-related bike needs, this is the place to go. Naturally, there are other shops with Dutch bikes, and this shop has more than just the basics, but if you want the whole Netherlands package (and some extras), Radlust screams authenticity. We came in so a visiting friend could purchase an AXA lock, something she wanted after having had one in the Netherlands and realizing that they're upward of $40 (not including shipping) in the U.S. The guy who assisted was helpful, although not particularly outgoing or friendly. When we walked in, we also passed one or two people sitting outside (employees?) who didn't say hello or make any effort to come in. In fact, we stood there for a minute or two before we were even acknowledged. But once someone came up from the back, he helped out with no problem, and we were in and out in about five minutes. All in all, a painless experience.

Just bought two classic dutch bikes from Radlust this weekend. They were the Hausmarke…read more(House-brand) and are excellent build quality. We've only had them for a few days, but no complaints so far. The guys who sold them to us were great - they went out of their way to figure out what we want and gave us plenty of time to cycle around the area to try them out. At no time did they try to push us into buying anything. Because they didn't have the exact bike I wanted in stock, they gave me a discount on the one I bought and threw in a free basket which they mounted there and then. On top of that, they give you a 6 week warranty period during which any problems with the bike will be fixed for freealthough I don't expect that we will use it. Although we bought classic bikes, there were also some great modern bikes as well I would really recommend Radlust for anyone looking for a dutch bike. (Note that we speak German, so I don't know if they speak English.)
