3.5 stars.
Nothing special, however, one thing definitely stands out: the elevator!
Perhaps I'm spoiled as an American, but most elevators I've been in can fit at least 3-4 people.
Not here.
The elevator here can barely fit me and my luggage (I had 1 suitcase and a bag). We checked in and considering how tired we were, decided to take the elevator up to our room.
The elevator door opened and it was literally a small, rhombus closet. I kid you not, it was so small, we thought it was a joke! We looked at each other, then at the front desk, then at this half-way done elevator.
We laughed it off and ended up walking up the stairs to get to our room, which we ended up doing every day we were there. Only until the last day did we say, SCREW IT, let's play tetris and try to fit in the elevator. Which we did and it was so cramped and uncomfortable. The ride down felt like it was going to break any moment but it was fun.
Anyways - the hotel. I wasn't expecting the Four Seasons so I knew what I was getting myself into. I looked for a cheap, basic, CLEAN hotel that was close to a major metro stop. The room came with a double, but to our surprise, also had a twin bed as well. They had cute Ikea-style furnishings. Sheets were so-so. Definitely more space than I anticipated. We had our own little bathroom with a very high toilet (I'm short - it sucks), a sink and a shower tub. You had to hold the shower head and rinse yourself off. Weird but doable.
They served complimentary breakfast downstairs, which we never touched. Why would you? There was a great little cafe across the street, where I had my first REAL coffee. Yummy. Also around the corner was a bakery, offering delicious sandwiches, pastries of sorts (ham cheese croissant was to die for), chocolates and cookies. And SURPRISE, there was a Chinese restaurant next to it!!
It was 85 euro a night here. I thought it was a really good deal for a decent, clean and quiet hotel. read more
